President Trump has announced the Jacksonville portion of the GOP convention has been cancelled.
Speaking from the White House, Trump said “To have a big convention, it’s not the right time, I told my team it’s time to cancel the Jacksonville component.”
“I’ll still do a convention speech, in a different form. But we won’t do a big crowded convention, per se,” He continued.

The announcement comes after the Republican National Committee moved the convention from Charlotte, North Carolina to Jacksonville in June because of ongoing reopening restrictions.
