Oregon Attorney General Ellen Rosenblum wants a restraining order preventing federal law enforcement from operating in her state. Today U.S. District Court Judge Michael Mosman heard arguments in the case. Mosman works inside the Mark O. Hatfield Federal Courthouse which has been the focus of protesters for several weeks and which is also the building federal agents in Portland have been trying to protect. The Judge did not issue any judgement from the bench. Any response will come in the next few days. Stay tuned for updates.


The State Department ordered the closure of the Chinese consulate in Houston. “The United States will not tolerate the PRC’s violations of our sovereignty and intimidation of our people, just as we have not tolerated the PRC’s unfair trade practices, theft of American jobs, and other egregious behavior,” the statement said. “President Trump insists on fairness and reciprocity in U.S.-China relations.”

Hungarian scientists have accidentally created a new species of fish. Researchers at Hungary’s National Agricultural Research and Innovation Centre, Research Institute for Fisheries and Aquaculture, who breed endangered sturgeon and paddlefish, accidentally fertilized Russian sturgeon eggs with milt from the American paddlefish. The resulting hybrids turned out to be viable.



The NYPD raided and dismantled the “Occupy City Hall” encampment this morning. Around 100 officers entered the zone before sunrise Wednesday to officially dismantle it, after a month. Took them long enough. . .
