The View from Here

Todays featured image is of the Salmon River. The Salmon flows through Oswego county NY to empty into lake Ontario at Henderson. Your editor fishes the river every winter for steelhead.

General Mark Milley, the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, told Congress the Military has no part in deciding a contested election.

“In the event of a dispute over some aspects of the election, by law U.S. courts and the U.S. Congress are required to resolve any disputes, not the U.S. Military,” Milley wrote. “I foresee no role for the U.S. Armed Forces in this process.”

And frankly, that’s exactly how it should be. We are not living in, say, Argentina. . . .

Actor Chadwick Boseman has died. He’s best known for playing Black Panther in the MCU. He was 43 when he lost his fight with colon cancer.

The Trump campaign has released a new ad. It’s a doozy, give it a watch.

If any of you aren’t familiar with the siren, it comes from the documentary err, movie the Purge.

If there’s one thing the Trump camp does particularly well, it’s reacting quickly whenever an opportunity presents itself.

The media narrative surrounding Kyle Rittenhouse and the three he shot, the pedo, the wife beater and Lefty is falling apart quicker than you can say boo. A lot of the initial reporting has turned out to be just plain wrong. Kyle worked in Kenosha as a lifeguard. His hometown is only 21 miles from Kenosha. He was helping to clean graffiti from a local school just hours before the shooting. He volunteered to help protect the car dealership after the owner called for volunteers. And the weapon he had came from Wisconsin, not Illinois.

Unfortunately, I still think they’re going to try to hang him with some sort of process crime, as it’s becoming clearer by the minute that all three shootings were in self defense.

Portland mayor Ted Wheeler sent a letter to the President refusing help from the feds.

He’s a complete dumbass, so why not. It gets worse though. After the letter went public, the rioters he’s spent three months encouraging showed up at his residence. Apparently, he’s not doing enough and they want him to disband the Portland police and resign. He should read a little about Robespierre and Neville Chamberlain. . . .

California governor Gavin Newsome has decreed the states 58 counties will be color coded. I’m serious. Under his latest reopening plan, the 4th or 5th I think, counties will be graded on two metrics, assigned a color code and be forced to adhere to his diktats about what can open when.
