For such a beautiful place
it has sad history
I don’t get that way often but when I do
I seem to always have time to visit
Never any birds singing
nor do you see any wildlife
found deer tracks just a couple of times is all
even the blueberry bushes are small with very little fruit to be picked
it’s like the whole 80 acres remains sad
Way back in the 1930’s
a couple had married
the fella found the land she liked and went to work building her a house
for which she’d make a home
shortly after moving in, there was a fire
both perished
Maybe I shouldn’t have shared the back story
On a brighter note
I’m in rather decent shape for an elder
