It would appear Harvard has not improved David Hogg’s thinking skills in posting Twitter comments. Of course, this comes as no surprise to a great majority of people with thinking skills.
On Monday, Hogg criticized violence as a way to “seize power”. In his original tweet, he wrote;
“We must not fall for the slander espoused by those in power that says violence will solve our problems, they only say that so they can have an excuse to grow their authoritarianism.”
He referenced his past experience with violence, saying;
“I have seen how violence and hate destroys lives and communities- it is not the answer.”
It would appear he is was one of the very few left actually addressing the violent nature of BLM protests. Notice the verb was. As soon as he received negative feed back, he started spouting the party/media doctrine. It would seem only “young white people,”may not be violent. His clarification of his original tweet reads as follows,
“Let me be clear,” Hogg wrote, “what I am NOT trying to do is tell BIPOC people how they should react to violence directed at them by the state.” Hogg explained that he isn’t denouncing violence from BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, People of Color) because “It’s not my place or any white persons to direct or criticize the way BIPOC people choose to defend themselves against this violence from the state.”
Aha, burning, looting, and rioting is acceptable by BIPOCs because somewhere in the United States, at some time current or recent past, a BIPOC was ‘done wrong’.
I was going to say, sarcastically, his parents must be so proud. Unfortunately, he probably learned this lunacy from his parents.
