Today’s featured image is of a frozen Oneida Lake afternoon. Oneida, the largest lake completely within NY, is widely known for its walleye and perch ice-fishery.
I don’t know how to feel about this one.
A two year old boy was abandoned at a Goodwill store in Southaven Mississippi, a suburb of Memphis. The Southaven Police Department said the boy was left by man at about 10 a.m. with employees at the drop-off. Police said in a Facebook post that the child was too young to give his name or the name of his relatives. When they asked him his age, he held up two of his fingers. Police interviewed a worker at the Goodwill who told them that the man who dropped him off said simply, “The child’s mother couldn’t care for him.” Fortunately, there has been an arrest made in the case and the child was identified and is being reunited with relatives.
On one hand, the child’s mother is a despicable human creature for simply abandoning the kid the way she did. IMO, there’s a special place in Hell waiting for her. On the other hand, the boy isn’t with the creature that gave birth to him anymore. Hopefully, the kid will grow up in a reasonably stable environment and become a prosperous member of society as an adult, not the waste that he was destined to be.
Another wealthy, high-profile individual has been charged with sex crimes. Peter Nygard, a prominent Canadian fashion retailer, has been indicted on charges of sex trafficking and other crimes involving women, many of whom were underaged. In a case reminiscent of the Jeffrey Epstein case, Nygard, 79, is accused of running a sex trafficking ring involving minor females, luring them to the Bahamas and raping them.
Die Hard is a Christmas movie. Yippie Kiy Yay. . .
Attorney General William Barr announced he was resigning yesterday. Quite frankly, I don’t think the President, and many of you have treated him at all fairly. The man dealt with the minefield that was the Trump presidency with class and grace. And be clear, it was a minefield from the start for everyone the President appointed.
