Today’s featured image is of Mosher pond in Happy Valley wildlife management unit. The Happy Valley WMU is located in central Oswego county NY. Your editor has wasted much time (and ammo if I’m being honest) there chasing the ever elusive ruffed grouse.
I hope everyone had a great New Year’s Eve and Day. Your editor has been stuck at work, toiling away, since new years day. . . .
Some of you may know who Lauren Boebert is. For those who don’t, she’s a newly elected member of the House of Representatives from Colorado’s third district. She’s also an outspoken 2A defender. Lauren recently announced that she planned on exercising her 2A rights while in the nation’s Capitol.
DC police chief Robert Contee III took exception to her comments and said during a press conference that he wanted to ensure Boebert “is aware of the what the laws of the District of Columbia are. That congresswoman will be subjected to the same penalties as anyone else that’s caught on the D.C. streets carrying a firearm.” All this while the District has the highest murder rate in 17 years.
It looks like I have another political crush. Don’t worry though, Tulsi still tops that list. . . .
Enrique Tarrio was arrested by D.C. police Monday afternoon on a warrant charging him with burning a Black Lives Matter banner taken from a historic Black church during a demonstration last month. Why am I reporting this? It seems Enrique is one of the local leaders of the Proud Boys.
Il Duce’s little brother Fredo took a shot at Marco Rubio. The CNN “star” called Rubio “bible boy” and complained that Rubio didn’t stand up to the people Cuomo wanted him to.
The real problem with both of the Cuomo boys is that while their dad, Mario was mobbed up, neither of them are. They just play the pseudo-tough guy role. And neither play it very well.
While we’re talking about the Cuomo boys, it appears that Andy is trying to bully Janice Dean. Janice is the chief meteorologist for Fox News and lost both of her in-laws in separate NY elder care facilities because of Andy’s disaster of a nursing home order. She’s been using her platform to call for the governor to take responsibility for his order forcing nursing homes to take covid patients. The official number of nursing home covid deaths in NY is around 6600, but it’s widely believed it’s at least double that number.
I wrote about the run-offs in Georgia here. What most people don’t realize is that there is one other race that has yet to be decided. The contest between Claudia Tenney, (R), and Anthony Brindisi, (D), for the 22nd NY congressional district is still up in the air. After several Court challenges, mysteriously found ballots, local election boards not following procedures and some other hijinks, Tenney leads by a razor thin 27 vote margin. State Supreme Court judge Scott DelConte is in the process of reviewing some 800 disputed ballots. No word on when the results are expected. On a personal note, this is the district next to mine, and if I lived less than a mile east of where I do, it would be my district.
If you live anywhere there has been unrest and rioting in the past 10 months, brace for more. It just broke that prosecutors in Kenosha Wisconsin have declined to pursue criminal charges against the officers involved in the shooting of Jacob Blake.
In case you don’t remember, Kenosha police were responding to a domestic disturbance call when Blake refused to comply with orders from the cops and attempted to get in his vehicle and drive off. I e of the responding officers shot Blake 7 times, leading to Blake being paralyzed from the waist down.
