Today’s featured image is of Long Lake. The 14 mile long lake is located in Hamilton county NY. The current weather at Long Lake is 27° with lake effect snow showers. Just a quick note about the images I feature for the View, all the locations I choose are places I’ve been. And Long Lake is a favorite spot in the adirondack park.
Senator Josh Hawley wrote a book titled “The Tyranny of Big Tech”. That book had been picked up by a publisher, Simon & Schuster, who promptly dropped Hawley’s book in the wake of the 6 January events. Why? Because they’re either good little leftists, afraid of the woke mob or both.
Fortunately, Regnery publishing has picked up Hawley’s book and are now accepting pre-orders.
Quelle surprise, MLK day protests in NYC turned violent yesterday. 28 people were arrested and 11 cops were injured. It seems the NYPD warned the protestors to get out of the street when things took a turn for the worse.
Dante Barksdale turned away from a life of crime to found Safe Streets, a Baltimore violence prevention program. The 46 year old “Tater” was shot to death as he was visiting a public housing project where earlier he had delivered winter coats to residents. The shooting happened around 11:00 Sunday. The circumstances of his shooting are unclear, and the Baltimore PD is investigating.
I try not to spend too much time (any time really) on the collection of grifters, con-men and losers at the Lincoln Project. However, today I’m making an exception. Co-founder of the grift-tastic super PAC, John Weaver got himself caught soliciting sex for jobs. That’s bad enough I guess, I mean, it’s not something I’d ever engage in, and would look askance at anyone who did, but Weaver was propositioning young men. Oh, by the way, Weaver is married and has a couple of kids . . .
Being the Grifters they are, the Lincoln Project has quietly scrubbed all mentions of Weaver from their site and literature.
Retired general Lloyd Austin III is Joe Biden’s pick for SecDef. Today, he’s testifying before a hearing on whether or not to approve his waiver to serve in that role. By statute, without a waiver no former military officer can hold that post until they’ve been retired for at least seven years. Like General James Mattis, Austin has not been retired the requisite number of years, having only retired in 2016.
