The “Love Gov” may finally be getting what he deserves. Andy Cuomo, who forced nursing homes to take covid patients, is currently under investigation by US Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of New York and the FBI. The addition of the FBI to the mix indicates this has become a criminal investigation. It has come out in recent days that the Cuomo administration hid key data in an effort to forestall an request for data from the Civil Rights Division of the Department of Justice. That folks is a crime.
It gets worse for Handy Andy. He reportedly made threats against a dem state legislator. Ron Kim is one of those accusing the governor of covering up information related to coronavirus deaths in nursing homes. He stated that Cuomo called him on several occasions, threatening to destroy his career if Kim did not lie for him. Now, there are members of his own party are calling for him to resign and there’s an impeachment push in the NYS legislature.
The most recent estimates of nursing home related WuFlu fatalities are above 15,000.
The temperatures in Texas have started to normalize. I just hope they don’t learn the wrong lessons from what happened. The cold snap that caused all the issues with travel and the power grid was a once in a century event. The entire situation was a series of cascading events that culminated in loss of electric service for millions.
A new Gallup poll shows trust in Big Tech is dropping. Fast. 45% of those surveyed said they had a negative view of the tech giants while 34% had a positive opinion of them, and 20% were neutral. Thats a significant decline from the last time Gallup asked about big tech in 2019 when 47% had a positive view. 57% of respondents said they thought the government needed to regulate those companies more.
I’m not a trust buster, but given the behavior of these companies, like FaceBook cancelling the entire continent of Australia, its past time to rein them in.
The Phoenix Police Department recently partnered with the City of Mesa Police Department, Tempe Police Department, Chandler Police Department, Homeland Security Investigations (HSI), and the Attorney General’s Office for Operation Broken Hearts. The operation netted 37 arrests related to child sex crimes.
“Operation Broken Hearts was an undercover operation targeting sexual predators engaged in child sex crimes and human trafficking,” the Phoenix Police Department said in a statement. “Throughout the operational period, officers and undercover detectives placed ads on websites and apps which are commonly sought out by suspects seeking illegal sex acts with children.”
“These suspects solicited and/or brokered deals for various sex acts and were subsequently arrested,” the PPD said on Friday. “The combined efforts of the agencies involved, are part of a nationwide effort to eliminate human and sex trafficking.”
I’d be more than happy to deal with those sub-humans. Permanently.
Lurch is at it again. John Kerry is out with his latest climate alarmism. This time, we have all of 9 years left.
Uh, sure John. Can you point to anything you managed to predict correctly? Israeli-Arab peace deal? Nope. US embassy in Jerusalem? Nope. The list goes on.
