Because I want to be whiny, this thread provides an opportunity for anyone else to complain about customer service.
First, a generalization. Yankee business customer service is a misnomer. They have no idea what it is.
Next, how many here understand the ‘carrot and stick’ method?
Now, onto my whine. Since April, I have sent multiple emails to a catalog company. I have received zero response. I made three phone calls only to have hear a recorded message about COVID impacting their ability to handle customer calls. FINALLY today, I was able to speak to a person. Notice I did not say human being. A more mechanical interaction would be hard to find. At any rate, after the person providing a resolution, I thanked her and said; “Now that I have used a stick, I have a carrot for your company.” She said; “I have no idea what that is.” I defined it and went in to compliment her on the quality of their sweaters. For those unaware, I am a sweater collection for. The shoe gene bypassed me. I received the sweater gene. Her response to my compliment was to say; “I have no access to your order and cannot resolve your issue.” Is it just me or does anyone else see where she needed to resolve an issue with a compliment? 🤔 Welcome to Yankee understanding or lack thereof.🙄
