Biden to Finally Hold First Solo Press Conference Next Week

Pretender BZiden will hold his first solo news conference on March 25. This will be his first press conference since taking office.

Pretender BZiden has briefly taken questions before boarding the presidential aircraft and after making public statements about the coronavirus and other issues.

One question is; are the questions going to have to be submitted in advance? Another question is; are they going to preselect which reporters they will call on?

There is absolutely unequivocally no way his handlers can allow the press free reign to ask dementia Joe any question they wish. They MUST find a way to manage the event.

  • Lá fhéile Pádraig sona dhaoibh!

    Lá fhéile Pádraig sona dhaoibh!

That is the Irish Gaelig way of wishing a group of people a happy St. Patrick’s day and its pronounced lah aluh PAH-drig SUN-uh YEE-uv. Yeah, I know, it doesn’t sound the way it’s spelled. You can listen to the correct pronounciation below.

While elsewhere in the world St. Paddy’s day (and yes, it’s Paddy not Patty) is a party day, until relatively recently in Ireland the day was more subdued. It is still mainly a religious holiday there.

There are many misconceptions surrounding the life and times of Padraig. He wasn’t Irish. In fact he was a Welshman who was enslaved by Irish raiders when he was a youth. He was credited with introducing the Irish to Christianity, yet part of his mission when he finally became a priest was to minister to the Christian communty that already existed there. And then there’s the snake thing. Let’s be honest, there weren’t any snakes in Ireland before he got there, so he clearly didn’t chase them away.

He isn’t even the only patron saint of Ireland nor arguably the most important. St. Brigid and St. Columcille (Columba) are both patron saints of Ireland along with St. Brendan the navigator who is supposed to have sailed to North America in the 5th century.

    The unofficial Irish National anthem

Now on to the fun stuff. Booze. Here are a couple of drinks/cocktails to enjoy during your Paddy’s day celebrations.

You can’t go wrong with a pint of the Black. Guiness has been brewed exclusively at the St. James Gate brewery in Dublin since 1759 when Arthur Guiness signed a 9,000 year lease. The company pays 45 pounds a month in rent. If your tastes run to lighter brews, check out Smithwick’s (pronounced Smiddicks), Harp or any of the fine beers from O’Hara’s. You could try a half and half, just don’t call it a black and tan if you’re in a pub in Ireland.

If it’s whiskey you’re drinking, this editor has a specific recommendation: Killbeggan. You could be plebian and drink John Jameson’s, you could pose and drink Teeling, you could be a bloody Prod and drink Bushmill. There are others, Tullamore DEW being prominent, and if this editor is being honest, even that Prod shite is good.

If it’s a cocktail you be cravin’ give this one a shot (no pun intended). It’s called the Irish Cactus and it’s just a two ingredients Bailey’s and tequila. Fill a whiskey glass with ice, pour in two ounces of Bailey’s and then add an ounce of tequila and stir. Theres some history behind this drink. The Batallón de San Patricio, around 175 Irish and Irish-American men fought for Mexico in the Mexican-American war of 1846-8.

  • Newsom Recall – What Are They Afraid Of?

Newsom Recall – What Are They Afraid Of?

Equality CA Came out Hard Against Newsom Recall – What Are They Afraid Of?

Lots of elected Democrats in California have publicly defended Gavin Newsom and attacked recall proponents, labeling them Trumpers, Q-Anon believers, insurrectionists, and more. The first special interest group to really come out against the recall, Equality California, echoed those sentiments in a curiously-timed press conference while pointing out how much the LGBT community in California “owes” to Gavin Newsom. (In other words, if you can’t keep your position because of your achievement, guilt interest groups into supporting you.)

While the deadline for recall proponents to deliver signatures to the various county registrars isn’t until tomorrow (March 17), and it’ll be about 30 days before anyone knows whether enough signatures will be verified, Equality California felt it necessary to hold a virtual press conference March 12 to strongly advocate for Newsom and praise his “leadership.”

That sense of panic and urgency shows that the members of Equality California feel the recall threat is very real and, in my opinion, threatens their political power in a very different way.

The group’s Executive Director, Rick Chavez Zbur, opened the presser. Of course, the word “extremist was the first out of his mouth. Immediately Mike Huckabee was referenced. He then hit the guilt button:

“Make no mistake, the coalition leading and funding this effort is made up of anti-LGBTQ+ extremists and pro-Trump activists. When Mike Huckabee cuts a check for a campaign, you can safely assume it’s not intended to help the LGBTQ+ community.

“At a time like this, when our community has been hit disproportionately hard by COVID-19, both the health and economic impacts, we need Governor Newsom as our partner and our champion, helping LGBTQ+ Californians recover. And that’s what’s at stake in this partisan power grab…This is the question. Do we keep moving forward with the governor who has always had our backs, who has always fought for us, who was bold and courageous when we needed him most, or do we move backwards?”

Asm. Evan Low, who is in a position to actually fix some of the problems in California’s bureaucracy as a powerful member of the Democrat caucus, brought up how the $100 million it would allegedly cost the state to hold a recall election could be better spent (if it wasn’t wasted by the legislature in other ways):

Gov. Newsom, you have been there with us; we are there for you. This is about the governance for all Californians. Think about the devastating cost of a fruitless recall effort that could cost upwards of $100 million. Think about the resources, the public hard-earned taxpayer dollars that those resources could go to, towards helping those who are struggling to put food on the table….

Evan, I’d suggest that you do your job and force a cleanup of the state’s unemployment division. That would help people a lot more than avoiding a recall.

State Sen. Scott Weiner got around to the real reason for this press conference.

This recall is just horrific….There is a reason why California has rejected right-wing Republicans and has not elected a Republican to statewide office in 15 years. That’s not just random….when you look at the people who are now wanting to be governor through this recall, they know they can’t win an actual election so they want to try to scam their way into office through a recall.

These are people who do not believe in climate change, do not believe in civil rights for LGBTQ people. These are people who are supporters of Donald Trump. We see Q-Anon people collecting signatures. This recall effort does not reflect California values.

See where this is going? There are a handful of Republicans who’ve said they will run to replace Gavin Newsom in a potential recall election, and, as far as I know, they are all straight men. Some are supporters of Donald Trump; at least one is not. As far as I know, they all believe in civil rights for LGBTQ people — but perhaps not the types of “civil rights” Scott Weiner believes in. However, the progressives in the state can say whatever they want about each of the candidates and California’s political reporters will lap it right up.

There’s one potential candidate California’s political reporters cannot smear as a homophobe, and that man’s potential candidacy scares Equality California and their supporters to death. That potential (likely, in my opinion) candidate is former Acting DNI, former Ambassador to Germany, and California resident Ric Grenell, who said at CPAC that his focus at that time was on ensuring that the recall qualified for the ballot and any decision about a candidacy would be made after it qualified, if it does.

For months Grenell has been one of the leading pro-recall voices, speaking out on Fox News, Twitter, and at CPAC on the issue, has statewide name recognition, the ability to attract major donors, and… he’s gay. The liberal media likes to ignore that fact because Grenell doesn’t fit their stereotype of what a gay man’s political beliefs should be, and Grenell, unlike many liberals, doesn’t preface everything he does with a statement about his sexual orientation. He simply excels at what he does, and he has the support of a major segment of conservatives not just in California, but across the country.

And that terrifies the people in Equality California, who believe they alone determine what the LGBT community in California need and what their political beliefs should be.

Comment: I agree with Jennifer’s analysis, as the potential of seeing Ric Grenell in the Governor’s mansion probably unsettles a number of those within the LGBT community; inclusive of those in the Democratic circles. But, I also see the Latino legal association (La Raza) feeling somewhat uneasy with the prospect of Ric Grenell as a candidate for Governor.

  • Trump Responds to The Washington Post’s Correction….

Trump Responds to The Washington Post’s Correction….

Trump Responds to The Washington Post’s Correction on His Call With Georgia Election Investigator

Former President Donald Trump issued a lengthy statement following The Washington Post’s correction of a false quote it published in January that claimed he had told Georgia’s top elections investigator in a phone call to “find the fraud.”

Trump in a statement to news outlets said he appreciates the correction but would “further appreciate a strong investigation” into allegations of election fraud in Georgia’s Fulton County, as well as an investigation into what he called the “Stacey Abrams political machine.”

Trump campaign adviser Jason Miller also weighed in on the retraction, saying in a Twitter post, “Time for some other media outlets to correct their fake news coverage of this story as well. You know who you are!”

The Washington Post, known for its prominent anti-Trump slant, issued a correction on March 11 to a story it published in January after an audio recording emerged of a phone call Trump had in December 2020 with an investigator working from Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger’s office.

The correction said the paper’s January story about the call included quotes that didn’t exist in the audio recording.

“The recording revealed that The Post misquoted Trump’s comments on the call, based on information provided by a source. Trump did not tell the investigator to ‘find the fraud’ or say she would be ‘a national hero’ if she did so,” The Washington Post said.

Trump said in the statement Monday via his Save America political action committee (PAC): “The Washington Post just issued a correction as to the contents of the incorrectly reported phone call I had with respect to voter fraud in the Great State of Georgia. While I appreciate The Washington Post’s correction, which immediately makes the Georgia Witch Hunt a non-story, the original story was a Hoax, right from the very beginning.

“I would further appreciate a strong investigation into Fulton County, Georgia, and the Stacey Abrams political machine, which, I believe, would totally change the course of the presidential election in Georgia,” he added.

The president went on to criticize the establishment media. “You will notice that establishment media errors, omissions, mistakes, and outright lies always slant one way—against me and against Republicans. Meanwhile, stories that hurt Democrats or undermine their narratives are buried, ignored, or delayed until they can do the least harm—for example, after an election is over.

“Look no further than the negative coverage of the vaccine that preceded the election and the overdue celebration of the vaccine once the election had concluded,” he added. “A strong democracy requires a fair and honest press. This latest media travesty underscores that legacy media outlets should be regarded as political entities—not journalistic enterprises. In any event, I thank The Washington Post for the correction.”

    Fulton County

Georgia made news headlines around the country for multiple allegations of voting irregularities and election fraud. Trump in his Monday statement said there was a lack of proper audits in Fulton County.

“Fulton County has not been properly audited for vote or signature verification,” Trump continued. “They only looked at areas of the State where there most likely would be few problems, and even there they found large numbers of mistakes. We are seeking to find and reveal the large-scale election fraud which took place in Georgia. Many residents agree, and their anger caused them not to turn out and vote for two Republican Senators in the January election.”

Fulton County was where the majority of complaints about potential voting fraud were lodged. In one notable case, video footage emerged of the State Farm Center, a site in the county where vote counting was being done for the 2020 presidential election. The footage showed that in late hours of Nov. 3 and early Nov. 4, election workers continued to wheel out boxes of ballots from under a table and count the ballots after observers and other workers had left the room.

Trump previously announced on Twitter that he had asked Raffensperger about election-related irregularities in Georgia, including in Fulton County, but Raffensperger dismissed the claims.

Trump said, “He was unwilling, or unable, to answer questions such as the ‘ballots under table’ scam, ballot destruction, out of state ‘voters’, dead voters, and more. He has no clue!”

    Consent Decree

The former president on Monday separately criticized a “consent decree,” a legal settlement that was signed by Raffensperger on March 6, 2020, following a lawsuit by the Democratic Party.

Trump and his lawyers said they think the consent decree weakened signature matching and the ability to verify legal votes for the 2020 election.

Raffensperger disputed Trump’s assertions and told The Associated Press that there is nothing in the consent decree that prevents Georgia election clerks from scrutinizing signatures, adding that not only is it possible to verify signatures, this is required by state law.

When a voter requests an absentee ballot on a paper application, he or she must sign it. Election officials compare that signature to the signature in voter registration files before a ballot is sent to the voter, Raffensperger said. When those ballots are returned, the required signature on the outer envelope is compared to signatures in the voter registration system.

But Doug Collins (R-Ga.) said on Nov. 24, 2020, that once the ballot is taken out of the envelope and separated, there is no way to track the signature to verify whose ballot it is.

Georgia attorney L. Lin Wood, in a lawsuit against Raffensperger, argued that the consent decree is unconstitutional because it didn’t get approval from the state legislature. The U.S. Constitution stipulates that only state legislatures and Congress can prescribe the “times, places, and manner of holding elections.”

The Supreme Court has since denied Wood’s petition to hear the case after it was dismissed in federal court. A district court judge in Georgia said Wood had failed to demonstrate a “substantial likelihood of success” to his claims.

“The Consent Decree signed between Raffensperger and Stacey Abrams was not approved by the Georgia State Legislature, and therefore should be deemed invalid, and the election result changed,” Trump said in his statement on Monday. “Why the Governor [Brian Kemp] and Raffensperger ever approved this Consent Decree is one of the great questions? We look forward to an answer.”

Trump had previously criticized the decree on Twitter on Nov. 14, 2020. He wrote, “The Consent Decree signed by the Georgia Secretary of State, with the approval of Governor @BrianKempGA, at the urging of @staceyabrams, makes it impossible to check & match signatures on ballots and envelopes, etc. They knew they were going to cheat. Must expose real signatures!”

Stacey Abrams, who lost the 2018 Georgia gubernatorial election, had made claims of voter suppression. Her organization and the Democratic Party moved to sue the state of Georgia, arguing that minorities were disproportionately affected when they had their ballots rejected in the 2018 gubernatorial election.

Abrams has founded multiple organizations, including Fair Fight 2020, “an initiative to fund and train voter protection teams in 20 battleground states.” Much of that effort has been to expand mail-in voting.

Raffensperger’s office and Abrams did not immediately respond to The Epoch Times’ request for comment.
    By: Mimi Nguyen Ly March 16, 2021 Updated: March 16, 2021 https://www.theepochtimes.com/trump-responds-to-the-washington-posts-correction-on-his-call-with-georgia-election-investigator_3734771.html

Comment: Stacy Abrams is as they say, “a person of interest” to me.

In 2018 she ran for Governor of Georgia against candidate Brian Kemp (R)
But Abrams’ excuses ignore reality. The facts are that she made over $1 million dollars in five years as a tax attorney and – while still owing $54,000 to the IRS – she loaned herself $50,000 to run for governor. Abrams clearly had the means to pay her fair share as a taxpayer, but chose instead to fund her own political ambitions. To this day, Abrams still hasn’t paid her $54,000 tax debt and her actions suggest she sees no urgency to do so. https://www.rga.org/georgia-democrat-stacey-abrams-excuses-tax-problems-dont-match-reality/

In 2019 those debts were all satisfied or cleared as reported in the Hill on May 16, 2019
A spokesperson for Abrams told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution Thursday that Abrams settled the approximately $54,000 she owed the federal agency as well as separate credit card and student loan debt.
Abrams had reported the debt during her campaign last year against then Georgia gubernatorial candidate, Brian Kemp (R). She revealed her debt to the IRS, in addition to roughly $170,000 in credit card and student loan debt, in financial documents in March. https://thehill.com/homenews/campaign/444112-stacey-abrams-settles-her-irs-debt

And during that same month Ms. Abrams also attended the Davos meeting in Switzerland per the NY Times – May 31
The 130 or so participants also include King Willem-Alexander of the Netherlands; Stacey Abrams, the American politician; Henry Kissinger, the former senior American foreign policy official; Eric Schmidt, the former chief executive of Google; and David H. Petraeus, the retired general. Some top bank executives are on the list, too. https://www.nytimes.com/2019/05/31/world/pompeo-bilderberg-meeting.html?

Each of you have, probably heard all the military jokes around. I still find this one most amusing.

The company commander and the sergeant were in the field. As they go to bed for the night, the first sergeant said: “Sir, look up into the sky and tell me what you see?”

The commander said: “I see millions of stars.”

Sgt: “And what does that tell you, sir?”

“Astronomically, it tells me that there are millions of galaxies and potentially billions of planets. Theologically, it tells me that God is great and that we are small and insignificant. Meteorologically, it tells me that we will have a beautiful day tomorrow. What does it tell you, Top?”

Sgt: “Well sir, it tells me that somebody stole our tent.”

Sunday Talks, Texas Governor Greg Abbott Discusses Crisis at The Border

    March 14, 2021

Texas Governor Greg Abbott has exposed a little more blue than prior to the COVID fiasco; and now he will likely face several Republican primary challengers in the next election.  That said, today Governor Abbott was on television discussing the crisis at the U.S. Southern border with Mexico.

One of the data-points that Abbott shares comes via the Rio Grande Valley sector.  In 2020 there was a total of 90,000 illegal border crossing apprehensions.  So far this year there have been 110,000 apprehensions and over 800 of them were criminal aliens previously convicted of crimes in the U.S.

Human trafficking is a major source of funding for Mexican cartels, and they are now storming the border in an effort to overwhelm the Border Patrol.   Additionally, various foreign nationals, from all over the globe, are also paying the cartels for transit into the United States.

Over 150 Arrested As Miami Goes Wild During Spring Break

More than 150 people were arrested over Spring Break weekend in Miami, as partygoers ignored the Mayor’s COVID warnings and descended on the town.

Over 120 of those arrested were nabbed on Friday alone, according to the Daily Mail, which noted that police seized guns, drugs and cash amid violent confrontations Friday evening which required the deployment of crowd control measures, including pepper balls.

On Saturday things quieted down with just 30 arrests made. In total, 42 people were charged with felonies over the weekend. Crack cocaine, crystal meth, marijuana and cash were all seized in the arrests, as well as guns, a balaclava and cartridges.

The crowd ended up turning on those officers,” said Ernesto Rodriguez of the Miami Beach Police in a statement to Local10.

Matthew Wellington, public health campaigns director for the nonprofit U.S. Public Interest Research Group, told The Orlando Sentinel: “There’s definitely a concern that the spring breakers who are traveling to Florida might bring home more than just the souvenir shot glass this year.” (via the Daily Mail) “We know this virus thrives on people traveling,” he added.
