Someone from the government there to help.

    The Tiny Cabin

A social worker from a big city in Massachusetts was transferred to the mountains of West Virginia.

On the first tour of her new territory she came upon the tiniest cabin she had ever seen in her life.

Intrigued, she went up and knocked on the door.

    “Anybody home?” she asked.

“Yep,” came a kid’s voice through the door.

“Is your father there?” asked the social worker.

“Pa? Nope, he left a’fore Ma came in,” said the kid.

“Well, is your mother there?” persisted the social worker.

“Ma? Nope, she left just a’fore I got here,” said the kid.

“But,” protested the social worker, (thinking that surely she would need to intervene in this situation)

“are you never together as a family?”

“Sure, but not here,” said the kid through the door. “This is the outhouse!”

Government workers are so very smart.

Aren’t you overjoyed that they’ll soon be handling all our financial, educational and medical dilemmas.

  • The Biden Presser: A Rant

    The Biden Presser: A Rant

I’m going to preface this with a disclaimer. I didn’t watch the entire press conference. I have watched some of the excerpts however. I am not going to link to the entire thing, if you so choose to watch, it is available elsewhere.

66 days. That is how long it took Joe to hold his first presser. That is the longest in more than 100 years. And what did we get for all that delay? Not much.

Team Biden called a “lid” fairly early for the past few days so Joe could prepare. All the prep didn’t seem to help much. Nor did the convention busting binder Biden used.

    https://twitter.com/julie_kelly2/status/1375157003757236228?s=20

Johnathan Allen is a “reporter” for NBC news in case you were wondering. I don’t know what universe John lives in, but it isn’t this one if he thought Biden was doing well at any point during this mess. That said, even he noticed that Joe wasn’t doing well after a bit.

    https://twitter.com/DavidRutz/status/1375144975516700672?s=20

It is abundantly clear Joe is dealing with diminished mental capacity. He cannot rember basic personal information.

    https://twitter.com/DailyCaller/status/1375143590574325761?s=20

He faced no tough questions and one fawning fangirl, NPR’s Amiche Alcindor asked if the border surge was due to him being a “moral and decent man”. The one reporter who has asked the tough questions of the biden administration, Fox’s Peter Doocy, wasn’t even called on. This despite the fact Fox is the most watched cable news network.

    https://twitter.com/CurtisHouck/status/1375157420968804354?s=20

At one point Biden was asked a question about North Korea. One would think that Joe would have some thoughts on the matter, seeing as North Korea just resumed ballistic missile testing. Instead what we got was some pablum about diplomacy and consulting our allies. Worse, the answer was read directly from the briefing book Biden had at the podium.

    https://twitter.com/bennyjohnson/status/1375146553548111872?s=20

It also seems that the questions he took had been pre-cleared with his handlers. He definitely called on people froma prepared list.

At one point, he became agitated when ABC News reporter Cecilia Vega brought up the conditions in the illegal immigrant detention facilities. “You mentioned circumstances that must be horrific. The Customs and Border Protection facility in Donna, Texas — I was there — is at 1556% capacity right now with mostly unaccompanied minors. There are kids that are sleeping on floors, they are packed into these pods,” Vega began. “I’ve spoken to lawyers who say that some of these children have not seen the sun in days. What is your reaction to these images that have come out from that particular facility? Is what’s happening inside acceptable to you? And when is this going to be fixed?”

“That’s a serious question, right? If it’s acceptable to me? Come on,” Biden snapped.

  • Biden Admin Demands Supreme Court ….

Biden Admin Demands Supreme Court ….

Biden Admin Demands Supreme Court Allow Cops Seize Homeowner’s Guns Without a Warrant

The Biden Administration has now reportedly urged the Supreme Court to allow police officers to enter private homes and seize legally owned firearms without a warrant.

The court heard the Biden administration press the case for firearms confiscation during oral arguments in Caniglia v. Strom on Wednesday.

The case involves an elderly married couple whose personal argument spiraled out of control and eventually led local police to seize the husband’s handgun without a warrant or proper cause.

    As Forbes reports:

This expansion could also have perverse effects and disincentivize people from calling for help. As that brief noted, “When every interaction with police or request for help can become an invitation for police to invade the home, the willingness of individuals to seek assistance when it is most needed will suffer.”

But in its first amicus brief before the High Court, the Biden Administration glossed over these concerns and called on the justices to uphold the First Circuit’s ruling. Noting that “the ultimate touchstone of the Fourth Amendment is ‘reasonableness,’” the Justice Department argued that warrants should not be “presumptively required when a government official’s action is objectively grounded in a non-investigatory public interest, such as health or safety.”

“The ultimate question in this case is therefore not whether the respondent officers’ actions fit within some narrow warrant exception,” their brief stated, “but instead whether those actions were reasonable,” actions the Justice Department felt were “justified” in Caniglia’s case…

“The Fourth Amendment protects our right to be secure in our property, which means the right to be free from fear that the police will enter your house without warning or authorization,” said Institute for Justice Attorney Joshua Windham. “A rule that allows police to burst into your home without a warrant whenever they feel they are acting as ‘community caretakers’ is a threat to everyone’s security.”

I will take a page from the father of Officer Eric Talley, who was killed in the line of duty……

“My son would have been deeply offended to know his death would be used to promote gun control. Before he was an officer, he enjoyed shooting,” Homer Talley told TMZ about his son, officer Eric Talley. “To take away that freedom completely is something I am against and my son was against.”

the cat burglar demanded both of the victim’s felines, but left with only one.

Police in Laurium, Mich., believe the unidentified gunman, who was arrested a short time later, knows the home owner. He was reportedly in possession of a firearm when he was apprehended for felonious assault and home invasion.

the suspect is a man from the nearby village of Calumet.

The whereabouts of the purloined cat is unclear.

The Keweenaw County Sheriff’s Office, Houghton County Sheriff’s Department and Hancock City Police Department reportedly joined in the search for the suspect. The case remains under investigation.

    BREAKING: 9th Circuit Rules… (Guns)

BREAKING: 9th Circuit Rules Americans Have No Right to Carry Guns, Either Open or Concealed

The 9th Circuit Court of Appeals has issued a ruling stating Americans do not have an inherent right to carry firearms, whether it be concealed or open carry.

“The US Court of Appeals for the 9th Circuit just ruled that THERE IS NO RIGHT TO CARRY – either openly or concealed in public. This ruling impacts RTC laws in AK, HI, CA, AZ, OR, WA, & MT. This was not an NRA case but we are exploring all options to rectify this,” the tweet noted.

    https://twitter.com/NRA/status/1374768895408680962?s=20

The court ruling, handed down on Wednesday, could have wide ramifications for lawful gun owners around the country.

“After careful review of the history of early English and American regulation of carrying arms openly in the public square, the en banc court concluded that Hawai‘i’s restrictions on the open carrying of firearms reflect longstanding prohibitions, and therefore, the conduct they regulate is outside the historical scope of the Second Amendment,” the court decided. “The en banc court held that the Second Amendment does not guarantee an unfettered, general right to openly carry arms in public for individual self-defense.”

“Accordingly, Hawai‘i’s firearms-carry scheme is lawful,” the court continued. “The en banc court rejected Young’s argument that [the state law] is invalid as a prior restraint because it vests chiefs of police with unbridled discretion to determine whether a permit is issued. Joining its sister circuits, the en banc court held that the prior restraint doctrine does not apply to Second Amendment challenges to firearm-licensing laws.”

Four judges dissented from the court’s majority ruling, however.

“Dissenting, Judge O’Scannlain, joined by Judges Callahan, Ikuta, and R. Nelson, would hold that both [the state law] and the 1997 County regulation destroy the core right to carry a gun for self-defense outside the home and are unconstitutional under any level of scrutiny,” the ruling continued. “Judge O’Scannlain stated that the majority holds that while the Second Amendment may guarantee the right to keep a firearm for self-defense within one’s home, it provides no right whatsoever to bear—i.e., to carry—that same firearm for self-defense in any other place.”

“In his view, the majority’s decision undermines not only the Constitution’s text, but also half a millennium of Anglo-American legal history, the Supreme Court’s decisions in District of Columbia v. Heller, 554 U.S. 570 (2008), and McDonald v. City of Chicago, 561 U.S. 742 (2010), and the foundational principles of American popular sovereignty itself.”

Meanwhile, just two years ago, the frequently overturned 9th Circuit actually ruled that open carry was a constitutional right for the same defendant.

“Plaintiff George Young sued Hawaii in 2012 for denying his applications for permits to carry a concealed or openly visible handgun,” Courthouse News reported. “A Hawaii state law requires a license to a carry a gun in public.”

The court ruling at the time addressed the Hawaii gun law and upheld the constitutional right to open carry.

“With one judge dissenting, two circuit judges concluded that Hawaii cannot deny permits to non-security guard civilians who want to carry guns in public,” the report added.

As the Biden administration seeks to push through sweeping gun control measures, the ruling could be a signal that courts are open to rubber-stamping the restrictions on the Second Amendment.

Comment: The Ninth Circuit does not have the best track record when it comes to rulings being overturned, upon appeal. So here’s hoping that they once again are over-ruled.

    See Also: SAY THEIR NAMES!

  • SAY THEIR NAMES!

    SAY THEIR NAMES!

    “SAY HER/HIS NAME!”

That’s a oft-used tool at BLM protests, people demanding that passersby say the name of a person they believe has been the victim of an overly aggressive police officer. You MUST recognise this person as just that, a person. You may NOT ignore his or her life. I’m a quick study.

    Here’s what I think I know about the shooter in Colorado . . .

Ahmad Al-Issa (or, Ahmad Al Aliwi Alissa) – the 21-year-old man who murdered ten people at a Boulder, CO grocery store yesterday – had a history of violence. Classmates have told the press that Al-Issa was unpredictable and easily set off. In 2018, the then 17-year-old high school senior crossed a classroom to sucker-punch one of his classmates for no obvious reason; repeatedly punching the fallen teen in the head after knocking him to the ground. Al-Issa said the boy had taunted him with racial slurs.  He was convicted of assault and sentenced with relatively light punitive actions, including community service. Records show the only other incident in his legal past occurred in 2017 – traffic infractions and violating driver’s license restrictions.

The FBI has said they were aware of Ahmad Al-Issa prior to yesterday’s nightmare of terror as he has ties to another person the agency is investigating. While we do not know if this gun was used in the murders at King Soopers, Al-Issa legally purchased a Ruger .556 pistol about a week ago, March 16. He passed the screenings; mandated and salesperson.

Al-Issa’s brother said Ahmad Al-Issa had spent the majority of his life here in the States after the family relocated to the USA from Syria.  The brother said Al-Issa is a “anti-social paranoiac” with anger issues and poor impulse control. Al-Issa’s social media postings reveal he was not a fan of Donald Trump or of Trump Era policies.

    .

    Here’s what I think . . .

There has been a heavy focus on this shooter’s mental health and motivation relative to other mass shooter cases.  At this point in the timeline, media and politicians are generally slavering about gun control and fixating on race-based victimhood should the shooter be white and any of the victims not white.  Why, some extremists are still attempting to file race-based hate crime charges against the INSANE murderer in Georgia who killed massage parlor workers a week ago – he’s white, six of his victims were Asian.  Though the shooter has said he did it because he’s a sex addict and couldn’t handle the “teasing,” some authorities, lawyers and elected officials are still insisting his criminal rampage must have been race-based.

In Boulder, CO, the site of a horrible instance of senseless, lawless, violence and death, the focus has not been on race, at all.  And, race was probably actually a driving motivator.  All ten of Ahmad Al-Issa’s victims were white.

Please meet them, they will not get riots and protests and special laws passed in their names. They’re just white people who were cold bloodedly murdered by an anti-American, anti-conservative, anti-Trump, hater. A demented man who does not fit the popular Gun Grab narrative because he is not a white conservative of Christian upbringing, he’s a brown Muslim. As a result, attentions will be redirected and his victims will not get the recognition and justice they deserve.

Before any accusations of islamophobia bang into a center of subconscious programming, an immigrant from a nation and culture rife with people who despise the Western culture, the USA in particular, stands a damned good likelihood of coming from a family of religious zealots. Muslims hailing from Syria have lived a radical, extremist Islamic lifestyle.  It is past time to start sharing truths we’ve been told are socially unacceptable hallmarks of innate bigotries while being spoon fed utter rubbish.

Sticking true to the preferred mass shooting patterned response, Biden & Co are saying we ought fling open our borders and also take away the rights of US of Americans to own a gun if we wish to enjoy a safe, peaceful nation.  Absurd is not a strong enough word.  Not only is gun control an unacceptable, unConstitutional infringement upon our rights as Americans, all thinking, reasonable, rational people know that seizing weapons from innocent people is not going to solve the problem of lawlessness plaguing this nation. Lawlessness that includes gun-related criminal activity.

Further, if the government will not protect the people, the people must be able to protect themselves.  We must diligently shift focus to the real problems and not allow ourselves to be manipulated into a place of utter helplessness.  If we do, that means the terrorists have won. Let’s not allow others to ignore these ten victims of hate-based, lawless violence. Say their names! They shall not go unforgotten or unacknowledged . . . they are martyrs, we honor them when we achieve Justice.

  • View from Guatemala: Mexico Closes Other Border

View from Guatemala: Mexico Closes Other Border

A View from Guatemala: Mexico Closes Its Other Border

While Americans north of the U.S.-Mexico border are consumed with plenty of news about a new immigration crisis less than two months into the Biden administration, I am actually living south of Mexico’s southern border, spending the rest of this year in Guatemala.

The news headlines here contrast sharply with headlines from U.S. media. One of those headline’s appeared last week in Guatemala’s leading newspaper, Prensa Libre: Mexico closes its border with Guatemala.”

That border is about 541 miles, while the U.S.-Mexico border is about 1,954 miles. So, arguably, it’s a little easier to control. However, Mexico seems to be taking its border with Guatemala much more serious than the United States is taking our border with Mexico. They also do not seem to be very happy with U.S. immigration policy since Joe Biden was sworn in as President – especially as Mexico, like all other countries around the world, is facing the COVID19 pandemic.

It is no secret here in Guatemala that it is now much easier to cross the U.S. border in these opening months of the Biden administration than it was during all four years of the Trump administration. While there may not be very much change in actual laws in the United States, there have been some procedural changes by the Biden administration that have at least sent a signal to those in Central America that it is now once again easier to make your way into the United States than it was over the previous four years.

This means more migrants who stayed home after they heard bold words about border security from President Trump, are now willing to uproot themselves from Guatemala and take the long and tedious journey through Mexico all the way up to the U.S. border. They have to journey well over 1,000 miles, possibly much further, depending on where in Central America they are coming from and where they plan to cross into the United States.

This also means more parents are willing to send unoccupied minors on a dangerous journey to the United States, in hopes they will find better opportunity. It also means more children – and other migrants – are preyed upon by human traffickers.

The bottom line is: over the past two months, more migrants are leaving places like Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua, and El Salvador to go through Mexico to the United States, than they have over the past four years – and Mexico has obviously noticed.

Last week, the Mexican government announced it would begin restricting non-essential travel from Guatemala to stop the spread of COVID19 into its country. Officers from Mexico’s National Migration Institute were deployed on the banks of the river on Saturday. On Sunday, military troops arrived.

The Biden administration is clearly not taking the threat of immigration across the U.S. southern border seriously. That inattention is now causing a migration crisis from Central America. Mexico, on the other hand, is taking this crisis very seriously, as it is affecting their country, as tens of thousands of migrants attempt to make their way through.

One other factor is that in recent years the United States faces less migrants from Mexico than from Central America, where the economies are not as strong. As the Mexican economy has gained strength, there is less of a need for Mexicans to migrate elsewhere and thus less a desire by the Mexican government to see a porous border with the United States.

While there has always been historic sentiment in the United States that we are a land of opportunity, where immigrants are welcomed to start a new life, there seems to be very little education by some on the American Left, including the Biden administration, as to what effect such and overwhelming increase in migration has on the migrants themselves as they partake on a life-threatening journey to the U.S. border.

Mexico arguably also knows a bit more about these devastating effects on its country, its economy, and on the migrants themselves. And, they have stepped up to do something to put a stop to it. While Americans have become understandably frustrated with the Biden administration’s immigration policies, we might place more hope in the Mexican government’s efforts to control that migration first. Closing their border with Guatemala will do more to prevent migrants from Central America from taking that long and dangerous trek only to wind up in a detention facility along the U.S. border.

I only hope that reporting these findings from Guatemala will do more to awaken the American people to this reality: America’s border and national security are now protected more by Mexico than they are by the sitting U.S. president.

Comment: As they say, you can’t fix stupid and in this case that would apply to the current Biden Administration. Clearly, even AMLO (President, Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador) has expressed displeasure with the recent US immigration decision and recognizing that they will do nothing to resolve the “situation”. As both, Biden and Harris have been somewhat dismissive when asked if they intended to visit the southern border.
