Malarkey- Not

For those who may not have heard, there is a new credit card coming. It is geared to conservatives and named COIGN. Before I would consider it, I would need a lot more information about the people “behind’ it. My conservatism may not align with theirs. At any rate, here is the daily afternoon offering.

The Other Side Of The Coign

The Hill headline: “New credit card for conservatives launched”

Examiner headline: “Ex-senator [Cory Gardner (R-CO)] and top GOP operatives launch ‘conservative’ credit card alternative”

“To lure customers, Coign is being made available for zero membership fees and offering 1% cash back on all purchases. But this new Visa credit card intends to stand out in a competitive marketplace by contributing a percentage of its profits from merchant fees to conservative causes and organizations. Donation recipients will be selected by a vote of Coign cardholders from a list of options curated by company executives.

“‘Coign will let conservatives voice their priorities through charitable donations they get to pick, all while offering world-class customer service, consumer protections, and cash back on every transaction,’ Collins said in a statement shared with the Washington Examiner.

“The launch of Coign comes amid rising conservative angst regarding prominent corporations and consumer brands that publicly advocate liberal policies or donate to left-of-center causes and groups.”

“The credit card is marketing itself as an alternative for consumers who are tired of watching the profits from their patronage land with liberal groups that are antithetical, if not outright hostile, to their conservative values. On Coign’s website, the firm describes its product as ‘America’s first credit card for Conservatives.’ Collectively, the 10 largest credit card companies are among the firms that have donated to liberal groups, GOP operatives involved with Coign say.”

Federalist headline: “Forthcoming Credit Card Will Allow You To Avoid Financing Woke Banks”

“New credit card will allow conservatives to counter the compulsory financing of woke financial institutions with profits sent to right-of-center charities.

“Frustrated by big banks embracing Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) standards to the detriment of conservative values and working-class families, a team of prominent Republican operatives is capitalizing on the need to build new institutions able to compete with elite hostility.”

“‘Conservatives are using their cards, and that adds up to billions and billions of dollars in commerce that have been used to undermine the things we believe in,’ Collins said.”

“While no one event motivated Collins to move on the project, the start-up founder who helped Republicans recapture the Senate in 2014 said it was born out of frustration conservatives were ‘treated as a fringe movement in the public square.’

“‘We’re the biggest ideological group in America, but we don’t act like it and we don’t get treated that way,’ Collins said, who began research for the new venture two years ago as the financial industry slowly crept into the center of the culture wars.”

“‘We want to do for charities what WinRed has done for political giving, which is allow millions of smaller donors to have an impact,’ Collins said about opening a new avenue open for silent conservatives to make their voices heardwithout a major commitment.”

TownHall headline: “A Credit Card for Conservatives Is Finally Here”

“‘Unlike other leading credit cards that give millions to the Left each year, Coignis helping Conservatives to align their dollars with their values,’ the statement continues. ‘We’re proud to invest in Conservative causes. Coign is the only Conservative credit card that allows you to pay with a purpose while you earn rewards.’

“According to Coign, users get ‘all the credit card standard perks and benefits’ they’ve grown accustom to with other cards, such as cash-back rewards, Visa network coverage, fraud protection, and more. A portion of every transaction is also donated to support conservative charities.”

“‘Too many corporations are investing their customers’ money in political and social priorities that align with their executives, the media, and the Left’s agenda,’ said Rob Collins, Coign founder and former executive director of the National Republican Senatorial Committee. ‘For the first time, the Coign card will allow conservatives to ‘Spend Right’ no matter where they shop.’”

Politico headline: “COIGN OF THE REALM”

FOX Biz headline: “Coign‘s Visa card for conservatives: How it works; Cardmembers will vote on the conservative causes that Coign will donate to”

Part of my hesitancy is, if memory serves, Cory Gardner was not all that ’conservative’. Keep in mind, my memory occasionally does not serve me as I believe it should.🤓😎😳
