the Stache

By now everyone should know what I do during the day, everyday is a new adventure, friend of mine stopped over at mothers, they were front room, while I was slaving over a hot oven while thinking, she cannot complain about my meatloaf because it’s her recipe, deep in thought is when I heard her ” what the hell is wrong with you, it’s 2023!’. He came in the kitchen for safety reasons probably. He was by fridge. Frederators are like bulletin boards for homes. He was reading this:

He stuck around for another few minutes then off he went, what he was reading was a poem.

Inspired by a Norse Legend

By the edge of a woods, at the foot of a hill,
Is a lush, green meadow where time stands still.
Where the friends of man and woman do run,
When their time on earth is over and done.

For here, between this world and the next,
Is a place where each beloved creature finds rest.
On this golden land, they wait and they play,
Till the Rainbow Bridge they cross over one day.

No more do they suffer, in pain or in sadness,
For here they are whole, their lives filled with gladness.
Their limbs are restored, their health renewed,
Their bodies have healed, with strength imbued.

They romp through the grass, without even a care,
Until one day they start, and sniff at the air.
All ears prick forward, eyes dart front and back,
Then all of a sudden, one breaks from the pack.

For just at that instant, their eyes have met;
Together again, both person and pet.
So they run to each other, these friends from long past,
The time of their parting is over at last.

The sadness they felt while they were apart,
Has turned into joy once more in each heart.
They embrace with a love that will last forever,
And then, side-by-side, they cross over… together.

As long I’ve known her, which is like all my life, she should be viewed upon as a romantic by heart. Speaking of hearts, 20 some years ago, she told the doctor, “if my heart is as bad as you say, then save the Nitro for someone who could really use it, she outlived the doctor”. Thinking what dad liked about her, whatever he gave her, she dished it right back at him,

I still don’t know where she met him, she won’t talk about it, all I could get out of her was, grampa her side made the best beer, sneak out in the woods an drink with some friends, that’s she’d say. I see can dad, a child of the forest walking upon a drunk maiden and yelling, I found one, I’m keeping her!.

Now you may see these in the light of OMG, and WTF! That’s only because you ain’t seeing things as I see things

Keep in mind, she was young once to, I had the siblings to prove it! In basement getting stuff out of my way, what the hell is this? Some you seen the 17 grocery bags I hauled out, full of Harlequin romance books, found 2 boxes, angel soft boxes full Harlequin, some had, good, boring, Ohh very good! written on the inside cover. Got back upstairs, I asked her, what of dad you miss the most? sips her teacup with coffee… ” his socks”

what?

“He’d put everything away in it’s proper except his socks, used to irritate me to no end”. Did you ever think he just liking seeing you bent over?

” ohh hush”

She don’t need the Nitro, she got me 🙂
