Sweet Heat Strawberry Bacon Jalapeno Poppers

Ingredients

  • 8 large Jalapenos
  • 12 ounces of plan cream cheese (box and 1/2)
  • 16 bacon slices
  • 1 quart fresh strawberries
  • 1/4 cup sugar

Directions

  1. Mash/Macerate strawberries in a bowl
  2. add sugar, and continue to mash until large chunks are gone and have a liquid texture
  3. using mixer, mix cream cheese and strawberries and mix until smooth and well blended
  4. core out jalapenos and cut tops off (will be used later)
  5. pipe in the strawberry cream cheese mixture, put tops back on and secure with toothpick
  6. Wrap two slices of bacon on each of the poppers securing with toothpicks.
  7. Prepare the grill with temperature of 300-325 degrees and place poppers indirect and away from hot coals.
  8. Cover and cook for about 45 minutes, flipping the poppers 1/2 way through.
