The casket of former President Jimmy Carter is carried out of a hearse in front of the National Cathedral during his state funeral service in Washington, DC, on January 9.
Today has been proclaimed a National Day of Mourning in honor of Jimmy Carter. That means the Government wants you all to be sad for the Peanut Farmer.
His corpse was on display in the Rotunda of the Capitol building. His remains were transferred to the National Cathedral in Washington DC this morning. A funeral ceremony is being held for him there. Joe Biden will deliver the eulogy. If he can stumble and mumble his way through it that is.
All of the living former Presidents were in attendance. Bill and Hillary Clinton, George and Laura Bush, Barack Obama, and Donald and Melania Trump all sat in the same row at the Cathedral. I wonder where Mikechelle was. Regardless, this marks the first time since the funeral of George Bush Sr. in 2018 that all of the living former Presidents have gathered.
Several international leaders were also in attendance, including the recently resigned Justin Trudeau.
Carter is expected to be chucked in the clay at his family home in Plains GA later this week.
