This Editor makes a point of correcting his mistakes and owning them. There is a mea culpa due over the Traverse City stabber. I said the skell looked to be Levantine – a specific region in the Middle East – and he is not. Bradford James Gille has been named as the suspect in the attack that wounded at least 11 people.
Gille has a long rap sheet including convictions for violent assaults and drug related crimes. He appears to be both homeless and mentally ill. He is facing a terrorism enhancement when he is formally charged.
While in Scotland, President Trump met with EU head Ursula VonDerLeyen. They announced a trade deal between the US and the Euro bloc.
. . . countries at zero tariff.” “They are agreeing to purchase a vast amount of military equipment.” “We are agreeing that the tariff straight across for automobiles and everything else will be a straight across tariff of 15%. We have a tariff of 15%, we have the opening up of all of the European countries…$750 billion worth of energy, and $600 billion of investments in the United States over and above what they have.” “That basically concludes a DEAL.” DEALMAKER IN CHIEF. THEY SAID IT WAS NOT POSSIBLE. This was months in the making.
This deal – at least at first blush – seems like a good deal for the US. The commitments to energy purchases, mainly LNG, are huge.

Sinkholes are swallowing up a park in St. Louis. The lake in Benton Park is being affected by the sinkholes. The water level in the lake is dropping and that caused the MO Department of Conservation to authorize an emergency fish salvage order.
The order allows the taking of fish from the lake without size or creel limits by any method the angler wants to use. MDC says the fish in the lake won’t survive the extremely low water levels and want the fish put to good use. The lake is a put-and-take lake, that is it is stocked with fish that are expected to be harvested by anglers. The lake is usually stocked with sunfish, catfish, and bass.
Apparently, the sinkhole issue has been known fro more than a year. There still has not been any study into why it is occurring. The MDC says they are starting one later this year.
A clearly unhinged federal judge in Boston just abrogated the power of the other two branches of the US government. U.S. District Judge Indira Talwani issued an order requiring the continued funding of Planned Abortionhood Parenthood. The funding for the abortion mill was cut as part of the OBBB passed and signed into law recently.
It is well past time for John Roberts in his role as the chief Judge and administrator of the federal bench to rein these radical activist district judges in. Hard. It’s bad enough when they interfere with one branch, and completely intolerable when they interfere with two.
