Random News and Notes 15 August

Today is the day when President Trump will meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Anchorage Alaska. Trump will not be the only senior US leader attending. DOD has announced SecDef Hegseth and Chair of the Joint Chiefs Dan Caine will also be in attendance.

I don’t see this meeting moving the needle in the least, for a few reasons. First and foremost is that Putin just doesn’t care what anyone not named Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin has to say about anything. Second, there have been so many threats of secondary sanctions and the like with no follow thru, Putin would be a fool to believe this time would be any different. And finally, these talks aren’t including the one party that is affected by the current Putin caused circumstances most: Ukraine.

Governor Hair Gel held a public presser yesterday in Los Angeles. Don’t ask what that smarmy f*CK was on about, I didn’t listen or watch because frankly, I don’t care. What I do care about – well care is a strong word, amused by? – was the reaction of LA Mayor Karen Bass to the fact that ICE effected several dozen arrests outside the presser location.

HAHAHAHAHAHA

There is apparently a total for the number of illegals who have left the US since the start of the Trump illegal migrant crackdown. DHS Secretary Noem says some 1.6 million have left.

That is on top of the record lows for border encounters and arrests. On average, just 148 illegal crossings per day were logged. In July of 2024, there were ~104,000 ‘encounters’ with illegals at the southern border. It was 7832 this July.

Jeff Bezos mother, Jacklyn Gise Bezos, has died. She was probably unaware that she had birthed and raised a son who would turn into one of the most destructive individuals in history.
