Random News and Notes 26 September

There are a couple of FBI related notes to pass along today. First up is the indictment of former Bureau director James Comey. A two count indictment was handed down by a federal grand jury yesterday. The charges are for lying to a Senate committee hearing and obstruction.

He faces up to 5 years on each charge if convicted.

In the other FBI related note, it appears that the FBI had as many as 275 agents in the crowd on January 6. This comes out after years of the FBI claiming they had no assets in the crowd.

I think it’s about time for that lying liar Chris Wray to be indicted for his lies to Congress.

Dem New Jersey governor candidate Mikie Sherrill has an Annapolis problem. You see, Mikie is a Naval Academy grad and former Naval aviator. But there are some issues with her time at the Academy. Her class was caught up in a cheating scandal. Mikie was part of it. Because of her involvement, she was not allowed to ‘walk’ with the rest of her class during the graduation ceremony.

The race for NJ Gov is a close one. R  Jack Ciattarelli has drawn even in the latest polls. This scandal and another involving real estate investments and a surprising $7 million in growth – nearly tripling – of her net worth in the last two years might be enough to flip America’s armpit to Republican.

Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu spoke at the UN today. I haven’t had an opportunity to listen to the whole thing, so I cannot give a review. There were some notable things about the speech regardless. First was it was broadcast over loudspeakers at the Gaza border.

Then there was the statement Bibi made to the world: “You will not shove a Palestinian state down our throats. We will not commit national suicide because you are weak.”

And finally, the lapel button Bibi was wearing.
