Random News and Notes 4 November

Today is election day. While most of you do not have any races of real import, some of you do. Regardless, I exhort you to get out and vote, even if for dog catcher.

There are a few races we will be watching. The Governorships of both New Jersey and Virginia are up for grabs. Of the two, I think that Jack Ciattarelli in America’s Armpit has the best chance of winning. Mikie Sherrill is a terrible candidate and ran a terrible campaign.

I like Winsome Earle Sears, but I just don’t see her winning. Jason Miyares however, has a really good shot at winning the AG race in VA.

The other really big race is that for NYC mayor. Look, Zohran Mamdani is going to be the next mayor of New York. That really isn’t in doubt. It might have been if 1) Andy Cuomo ran a real campaign and/or b, Curtis Sliwa had dropped out shortly after Eric Adams did. Oh well. They can deal with the consequences of their actions for the next 4 years.

It seems there have been bomb threats called in at several NJ polling places.

They seem to be concentrated in R leaning precincts. Hopefully whoever made the calls is caught and prostituted to the fullest extent.

It’s probably a good thing that San Fran Nan is not running for re-election next year. The 85 year old made an appearance on CNN the other day. During that appearance she made a bunch of ridiculous claims about President Trump. Watch:

“Because he’s the president of the United States and he does not honor the Constitution of the United States. In fact, he’s turned the Supreme Court into a rogue court. He’s abolished the House of Representatives, he’s chilled the press, he’s scared people who are in the country legally.”

You know it’s bad when a CNN host pushes back. The look on Elex Michaelson’s face says it all. Also, why does that drunken harpy rate the title speaker emerita? No other former speaker has been called that.

Former VP Richard B. “Dick” Cheney has passed.

I don’t know what to say about this death. I think Cheney, until recently, was an honorable man who served his country well according to his lights. His recent behavior however, is disgraceful.

Requiescat in pace.
