Today’s musical selection is another of this editor’s modern Christmas favorites. Father Christmas was released by the Kinks in November of 1977, just in time for the holiday season. It was accompanied by a music video (the one below in fact) featuring Ray Davies dressed as the titular character. The song tells of a department store Father Christmas who is beaten up by a gang of poor kids who tell him to give them money instead of toys.
