Random News and Notes 22 March
We start in Chiraq where a Venezuelan illegal is currently in custody after shooting and killing 18 year old Loyola University freshman Sheridan Gorman. The as-yet unnamed illegal was arrested Friday evening less than two blocks from the scene after video evidence led police there. They recovered a firearm now under ballistics testing.
According to CPD, Gorman was walking with friends along Chicago’s lake front around 1:30 AM Thursday when a “unknown male offender” opened fire at the group, hitting Gorman in the head. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
Two far-left extremists died in an explosion while preparing a bomb for a planned attack in Rome, Italy. Why am I telling you this? Anytime AntiFa does something good like this, it is newsworthy.
A private pilot, flying a Piper PA-28 flew a route to honor the three Ohio ANG Airmen that died in the refuelling incident on 12 March. The radar track traced out three headstones and a serviceman rendering a hand salute.
Alright, this is just cool.
That bird is probably moving at about 130 mph despite looking like it’s going 25.
Epic Fury News
The Saudis took a big step yesterday. They ordered the expulsion of 5 Iranian embassy staffers. Among those slapped with the Persona Non Grata label were the Military Attache and his deputy.
The Kingdom booted them citing Iran’s repeated attacks on Saudi sovereignty, civilians, and infrastructure as violations of international law and the 2023 Beijing Agreement. Saudi defenses have intercepted hundreds of ballistic missiles and drones since late February, though some hit oil refineries and killed at least two civilians. Qatar expelled similar Iranian officials days earlier after a strike on its LNG facility.
President Trump issued an ultimatum to Iran last night via Truth social: Open Hormuz or else.
I’m not sure how much good it will do. There is no clear – at least to me – chain of command in Iran at this point. Every time a new leader is put forth, they catch a bomb or missile. We’ll see I guess.
The Iranians are claiming they ‘targeted’ an F-15 and released video. Problem is, there was no intercept.
I suppose when your capabilities are that degraded, actually shooting at a potential target is something.
