Random News and Notes 26 March
An attorney in Oklahoma had a tantrum in front of a judge and was arrested for direct contempt. That is probably something that happens around the country on a daily basis, so why is it noteworthy? Because the attorney in question is autoparts. “Rob” Hopkins, representing a woman in a child custody dispute, repeatedly interrupted Judge Laurie Jackson over jurisdiction and remote appearance issues, leading to contempt charges and arrest on a $25,000 bond.
Bodycam footage showed Hopkins demanding a female officer and her glasses as she was led out, with a later resisting arrest charge added.
The troon should be disbarred for that behavior. I would guess – not being a blood sucking leech err attorney – the Oklahoma Bar would take a dim view of those kind of antics.
Speaking of autoparts, the International Olympics Committee has banned dudes from competing in women’s events. The new policy, approved on March 26, 2026, uses a one-time saliva or blood test to confirm eligibility for female categories in the Olympics and other IOC events from the Los Angeles Games onward. It bars SRY-positive athletes, like most transgender women and some with differences of sex development, from women’s competition but allows them in male, open, or mixed categories.
I’m betting the spectacle of watching several consecutive women getting beaten on in boxing by the Imane Khalif dude a couple of years ago was the bridge too far.
This one warms the cockles of my cold, dead heart. A homeowner in Cambridge, Maryland hired a crew to re-roof her home. When six Guatemalan men aged 18 to 40 arrived to start a three-day, $10,000 remodeling job the homeowner called ICE.
There are differing reports regarding the details. Most of the reporting says she called as they were starting. And based on the condition of the roof, I would guess that to be true, but some are saying she waited until they were just about done. If she waited, and again it looks to me like they had just started, then she needs to be sure the job is paid for. I know some roofers here, and believe me, they do whatever it takes to get paid, up to and including removing the newly installed roofing.

Head of the IRGC Navy, General Alireza Tangsiri, got his 72 goats. He and most of his command staff were buried under a building when the Israelis blew it up.
This is a pretty big deal, as Tangrisi was leading the effort to close the Strait of Hormuz.
