We start in Finland where a newly released study is making waves. Published April 4, 2026, in Acta Paediatrica, the research followed 2,083 people under 23 who contacted Finland’s gender services from 1996 to 2019, compared to 16,643 matched controls. Before referral, 45.7% needed specialist psychiatric care versus 15% of controls; this rose to 61.7% two years post-referral. Even among the 38% who received hormones or surgery, needs increased sharply, from around 10-22% pre-referral to 55-61% after.
Lead author Riittakerttu Kaltiala, head of Finland’s youth gender clinic, said the findings show psychiatric issues do not subside after transition, urging caution and thorough evaluations amid pre-existing mental health struggles.

Greene, you will remember, resigned effective 3 January after huffing too many of her own farts and thinking she got to define MAGA. Fuller hailed the win as a mandate for MAGA priorities.
