Today was another busy day in History, so another list.

• 1778 – Louis XVI of France declares war on England in support of the American Revolution.
• 1850 – Millard Fillmore is sworn in as President following the death of Zachary Taylor the day before.
• 1890 – Wyoming becomes the 44th state.
• 1925 – The trial of John Scopes, a high school science teacher, accused of teaching evolution in violation of a Tennessee state law begins.
• 1940 – The Battle of Britain starts with a 120 bomber German raid.
• 1942 – Carl “Tooey” Spaatz becomes the head of the U.S. Army Air Force in Europe.
• 1951 – The first armistice talks between the US and North Korea begin at Kaesong.
• 1960 – Belgium sends troops to the Congo to protect whites as the Congolese Bloodbath begins, just 10 days after the former colony became independent of Belgian rule.
• 1962 – The satellite Telstar is launched from Cape Canaveral, Florida, beaming live television from Europe to the United States.
• 1991 – Boris Yeltsin is sworn in as the first president of the Russian Federation. His deputy is a little known KGB agent from St. Petersburg – Vladimir Putin.

We start today’s news in Northern Ireland where they are quickly coming up on Orangeman’s day. The day commemorates King William of Orange’s victory at the Battle of the Boyne in 1690. Part of the celebrations are bonfires. Loyalist communities across the 6 counties build pyres and they typically have some sort of political message as part of the design. Well, at Moygashel Co. Tyrone went a step further; they placed a mosque – complete with an imam effigy – atop their pyre.

The PSNI (police service of Northern Ireland) arrested a man for the mosque and he is looking at charges of inciting hatred. Someone lit the pyre ahead of the Twelfth after rumors started that the PSNI were going to remove the mosque.

Most of you know this editor is of Irish descent – his mother was born and raised on the Emerald Isle – and is deeply invested in his heritage. It can be difficult to give credit where it is due when it comes to the feckin’ prods especially those in the Orange Order.

Staying in the UK, there were riots in central London last night. Moroccan fans rioted on Edgware Road in central London following Morocco’s 2-0 defeat to France in a World Cup quarterfinal match. Supporters chased Metropolitan Police officers, threw bottles, stones, and fireworks, injuring at least one officer who was hospitalized with head injuries.

Riot police were deployed, four people were arrested for violent disorder.

At least here we only riot when our team wins. Looking at you Philadelphia. . .

Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum announced her country was making criminal complaints to U.S. prosecutors over 17 Mexican nationals’ deaths linked to ICE since Trump took office.

Ok, if Ms Sheinbaum wants to play, we can play. She has to know that the Mexican economy exists because the US allows it to exist. If Trump is willing to cut off all trade to Spain to get the commies running that euro-shithole what do you think he’d be willing to do to Mexico?

Did we talk about the Laotian illegal sex pest that Tampon Tim pardoned to shield him from deportation? As a reminder, Tue Lue Vang was convicted in 2006 of repeatedly sexually assaulting a 10 year old girl between 2002 and 2004. He was scheduled to be deported, but was granted clemency by Walz just days before his removal. Background out of the way, he is gone. SecState Rubio personally intervened and revoked his status and he has been deported,

Rubio had this to say about the case: “Just weeks ago, a convicted sex offender and a foreign national was shielded from deportation by the governor of Minnesota. Tim Walz issued him a pardon. This week, I revoked his legal status and as of today, he has been removed from the United States.”

A federal grand jury in Columbus, Ohio, charged eight men with conspiring to attack the UFC Freedom 250 event on June 14 on the White House South Lawn, which drew thousands for America’s 250th anniversary, Flag Day, and President Trump’s 80th birthday. The group allegedly planned explosive drones to cause panic followed by sniper fire on high-value government officials and attendees. The indictment charges all eight with two conspiracies: conspiracy to provide material support to terrorists, and conspiracy to commit murder on federal government territory and to murder a federal government official.

The plot unraveled on June 10 when one suspect’s mother alerted authorities, leading to FBI arrests across states that halted the attack. They face life sentences if convicted.
