Biologists with the Michigan Department of Natural Resources confirmed 2025 was the third consecutive year of record-setting cougar sightings in the Upper Peninsula. There were 40 cougars spotted in 37 confirmed sightings. That’s a significant jump over 26 confirmed sightings in 2024
