I love my job.
Lately, colleagues have been writing names on the food in the office fridge.
I’m currently eating a yoghurt called Susan. How cute!
‘I don’t need invitations’
The governor of Oregon has stated she did not invite Federal law enforcement. The ACLU is suing. The mayor of Chicago has said Federal officers will create more chaos, though one wonders how, after the mass shooting at a funeral.
To the wailing and gnashing of blue elected officials, the Acting Secretary of Homeland Security stated;
“I don’t need invitations by the state, state mayors, or state governors to do our job.”
“We’re going to do that, whether they like us there or not,” Wolf said. “That’s our responsibility.”
In point of fact, DHS does not need an invitation. The U.S. Code provides:
40 U.S. Code § 1315. Law enforcement authority of Secretary of Homeland Security for protection of public property
(b) Officers and Agents.—(2) Powers.—While engaged in the performance of official duties, an officer or agent designated under this subsection may—
(A) enforce Federal laws and regulations for the protection of persons and property;
(B) carry firearms;
(C) make arrests without a warrant for any offense against the United States committed in the presence of the officer or agent or for any felony cognizable under the laws of the United States if the officer or agent has reasonable grounds to believe that the person to be arrested has committed or is committing a felony;…
These ongoing riots, and make no mistake, they are riots not protests, need to be quelled. This is nothing but a test of the will of government to govern. Obviously, some governments are unwilling to do so.
If these anarchist had their way, the Federal Portland Courthouse would be a pile of ashes. It is time to make it clear such will not be allowed and those attempting to destroy it be arrested, charged and taken to court.
As to sending these “officers and agents” to other locales, I am somewhat ambivalent. If those in Chicago wish to continue killing each other, so be it. The same is applicable for many other jurisdictions.
If Federal facilities are not involved, let the heathens do as they will as the elected officials have no will to stop it.
As a final observation, and putting on my tinfoil chapeau, the purpose of these riots, is to frighten citizens away from re-electing Trump. This will continue in some way or shape through the election. It has never been about George Floyd. Had it not been the incident with him, it would have been someone else. They need this chaos to stir fear. In your fear, Trump supporters are to turn away from supporting him to gain peace.
Please, do not be like the people in the following cartoon.

Dating in 1962
It was a hot Saturday evening in the summer of 1962 and Fred had a date with Peggy Sue.
He arrived at her house and rang the bell.
“Oh, come on in!” Peggy Sue’s mother said as she welcomed Fred in.
“Have a seat in the living room. Would you like something to drink? Lemonade? Iced tea?”
“Iced tea, please,” Fred said. Mom brought the iced tea.
“So, what are you and Peggy planning to do tonight?” she asked.
“Oh, probably catch a movie, and then maybe grab a bite to eat at the malt shop,
maybe take a walk on the beach…”
“Peggy likes to screw, you know,” Mom informed him.
“Uh…really?” Fred replied, with raised eyebrows.
“Oh, yes!” the mother continued. “When she goes out with her friends, that’s all they do!”
“Is that so?” asked Fred, incredulous.
“Yes,” said the mother. “As a matter of fact, she’d screw all night if we let her!”
“Well, thanks for the tip,” Fred said as he began thinking about alternate plans for the evening.
A moment later, Peggy Sue came down the stairs looking pretty as a picture wearing a pink blouse
and full circle skirt, and with her hair tied back in a bouncy ponytail. She greeted Fred.
“Have fun, kids,” the mother said as they left.
Half an hour later, a completely disheveled Peggy Sue burst into the house
and slammed the front door behind her.
“The Twist, Mom!” she angrily yelled at her mother. “The damned dance is called the Twist!
Earlier this week, The Federalist had an interesting article. The headline read:
WUHAN VIRUS
They cite information relating to the increase in COVID-19 cases and the reactions of various governors. There is no surprise cases have increased. Normal citizens followed masking edicts while the anarchists were allowed to go about the business of burning and looting. They were allowed to go maskless. Normal citizens were precluded from gathering in groups, or else; whereas anarchists were free to gather in any size group they chose.
Where the article gets into the reason for the forthcoming lock-down is a statement, by a former Obama economist. He states:
“We are about to see the best economic data we’ve seen in the history of this country,” Obama economist Jason Furman warned a group of prominent Democrats in April, spiking fears among those on the call that a comeback economy could bolster President Donald Trump’s chances at re-election
Another Obama acolyte told Politico:
“This is my big worry,” one former Obama official told Politico, who said the “level of concern” was “high, high, high, high” among party leaders.
The Federalist further says:
“Meanwhile, Democrats’ incentives for reimposing lockdowns are clear no matter the costs. With just more than 100 days until the election, Democrats can cite rising cases as ample reason to issue fresh shutdown orders in the name of “public health,” even as the lockdowns became worse than the cure.”
Therein is the answer. It is not, nor has it ever been, about the health of citizens. It is about the election and removing of Trump from office. The mere fact he was elected has caused nothing less then hysteria within the progressive politicos. The fact he made campaign promises and succeeded, in some measure, is beyond acceptable.
During the prior administration, we were told the economy could not improve. This was shown to be an untruth.
During the previous administration, we were told walls would not reduce illegal immigration. This was shown to be an untruth.
When Trump said he would pass tax reform, it was said it could not be done. This was shown to be an untruth.

The last paragraph is an excellent conclusion. The author, Tristan Justice, opines:
The poison of polarization has clearly infected enough people to spark a partisan pandemic in which incessant hysteria will no longer be in good-faith concern for the public’s well-being but a calculated risk to defeat political opponents. No one, of course, would be stupid enough to say it out loud.
I have often been known to wear a hat. It looks like this.
Under that hat is a brain saying, there will be another lockdown and it has nothing to do with health. It is about stopping a President who has shown the Democrats he is working to follow through on his campaign promises to improve the life of citizens. My brain is, further, saying the anarchy will continue as well; however, that is a topic for another day.
