It seems the Love Gov is more interested in bad art than he was of the lives of NYS nursing home residents. Andy Cuomo just released a god-awful poster commemorating the state’s coronavirus response.

Not for nothing, but if New York was an independent country, it would have the 5th highest infection rate and the 6th highest death toll in the world. Doesn’t seem like something one would want to commemorate.

Jeffery Epstein’s alleged procurer Ghislane Maxwell was denied bail at a hearing today. After her not guilty plea, Judge Alison Nathan said the British socialite posed too great of a flight risk to be allowed to leave. She will remain in jail until her July 2021 trial.

There are a couple of notes on the WuFlu front. First, out of New York, a diverse group of medical professionals are calling into question the results of a study that purported to absolve the state of responsibility for the 6,000 plus nursing home deaths in that state.

“I think they got a lot of political pushback and so their response was, ‘This isn’t a problem. Don’t worry about it,’” said Rupak Shivakoti, an epidemiologist at Columbia University’s Mailman School of Public Health.

“It seems like the Department of Health is trying to justify what was an untenable policy,” added Charlene Harrington, a professor emerita of nursing and sociology at the University of California at San Francisco.

The governor and the health department need to sack up and admit the policy was an abject disaster.

Next up is a story out of Florida. A local news outlet found multiple instances of health clinics reporting a 100% positive test rate. From Fox35Orlando:

Countless labs have reported a 100 percent positivity rate, which means every single person tested was positive. Other labs had very high positivity rates. FOX 35 News found that testing sites like one local Centra Care reported that 83 people were tested and all tested positive. Then, NCF Diagnostics in Alachua reported 88 percent of tests were positive. . .

The report showed that Orlando Health had a 98 percent positivity rate. However, when FOX 35 News contacted the hospital, they confirmed errors in the report. Orlando Health’s positivity rate is only 9.4 percent, not 98 percent as in the report.

This isn’t just a Florida issue. There are anecdotal reports of widespread discrepancies in testing results. From people scheduled to test, and not actually testing but getting notified they were covid positive to tests being processed without actually swabbing someone coming back positive.

Officer Cameron Maciejewski of the Sterling Heights Michigan PD is being hailed as a hero today. As Maciejewski pulled up to a home around 10:45 p.m. last Thursday as the panicked family rushed to him carrying the 3-week-old child, who was not breathing, according to the Sterling Heights Police Department. Dashcam footage released by the department shows  Maciejewski taking the baby in his arms and, while remaining calm, performed back thrusts on the child and clearing her airway. “Yep, there you go … She’s got a pulse and she’s breathing, OK?” he said, assuring the distraught family members that the baby would make it.

  • Feds Execute Child Murderer

    Feds Execute Child Murderer

In what was the first federal execution in 17 years, Daniel Lewis Lee was put to death for slaughtering an Arkansas family, including an eight year old girl in 1996.

The execution proceeded after some last minute legal wrangling that saw a DC district Judge issuing an injunction yesterday just prior to the scheduled time for the execution. The Supreme Court, in a 5-4 decision, vacated that injunction early this morning and allowed the execution to go forward.

“The plaintiffs in this case are all federal prisoners who have been sentenced to death for murdering children,” the court wrote in an unsigned opinion. “The plaintiffs committed their crimes decades ago and have long exhausted all avenues for direct and collateral review. ”

Attorney General Bill Barr announced the return of the federal death penalty last year, saying he owed it to the victims’ families to resume executions.

“Under Administrations of both parties, the Department of Justice has sought the death penalty against the worst criminals, including these five murderers, each of whom was convicted by a jury of his peers after a full and fair proceeding. The Justice Department upholds the rule of law—and we owe it to the victims and their families to carry forward the sentence imposed by our justice system,” Barr said.

I have to wonder what is going on with the Trump campaign. Every poll I’ve seen shows Trump trailing Plugs by a considerable margin. My take? The campaign lacks a coherent direction. For every positive step forward, there seems to be a step or two backwards. For historical perspective, this was the position his campaign found itself in 2016. What happened to change it? He brought in Steve Bannon and Kellyanne Conway to run everything. Perhaps it’s time for a shake up.

I hate to sound ableist, but that’s the most retarded thing I’ve ever heard. New York had 33,000 (and counting) covid19 deaths, more than 6,000 in nursing homes and seeded the rest of the goddamned country. In what world is that to be praised? Then again, Jarrett thought the Iranians would abide by the JCPOA.

Speaking of Iran, they seem to be experiencing some accidents of late. The latest happening yesterday at liquid gas plant in the Kavian Fariman industrial zone, south of the city of Masshad. This comes on the heels of explosions at a pair of suspected nuclear sites.

Tuberville led Sessions by 13,000 votes in the regular primary, but Alabama rules state a run-off is necessary. Whoever wins is expected to beat Doug Jones , the Dem who beat Roy Moore for Sessions old seat.

  • Bonhomme Richard fire update

    Bonhomme Richard fire update

As I reported yesterday, the USS Bonhomme Richard caught fire while alongside at San Diego around 0830 PDT. Firefighting efforts continue at this hour, and are expected to last the next several days. The cause of the fire onboard the 844 foot amphibious assault ship is still unknown.

The fire apparently broke out in the ship’s lower vehicle storage area according to Rear Adm. Philip Sobeck, commander of Expeditionary Strike Group 3.

Throughout Sunday night and into Monday morning, helicopters from Helicopter Sea Combat Squadron Three dropped buckets of water on the ship. Tug boats also sprayed water on the ship from the bay, while all ships in port were directed to assist with the effort, the Navy said.

    https://twitter.com/SurfaceWarriors/status/1282680329191317505?s=20

Federal and Navy firefighters took turns battling the blaze as they worked to “find the seat of the fire and extinguish it,” said Federal Fire San Diego Division Chief Rob Bondurant around 4:00 p.m. on Sunday.

Thirty-four sailors and 23 civilians have been treated for minor injuries, including heat exhaustion and smoke inhalation, from the fire aboard the San Diego-based amphibious assault ship USS Bonhomme Richard which began Sunday morning, the Navy said.

Five sailors remain in the hospital and are in stable condition, Naval Surface Forces for the Pacific Fleet tweeted on Monday.

    https://twitter.com/SurfaceWarriors/status/1282645872031850498?s=20

“We’re absolutely going to make sure it sails again,” Sobeck told reporters early Sunday evening. “Right now we’re fighting the fire and then we’ll work on understanding what exactly happened with the fire and where it went, make sure she sails as best as possible … she was in a stage of repair anyway, so we’ll get right back at it once we get this thing contained.”

Chief of Naval Operations Adm. Mike Gilday called the incident “a terrible tragedy.”

“We are grateful for the quick and immediate response of local, base, and shipboard firefighters aboard USS Bonhomme Richard,” he said in a statement. “Our thoughts and prayers are with our BHR Sailors, their families, and our emergency responders who continue to fight the fire. Godspeed.”

  • Indianapolis mother killed . . .

    Indianapolis mother killed . . .

Because she said All Lives Matter

A 23 year old Indianapolis mother was shot to death last Sunday. From Fox59:

According to the victim’s family, the shooting started over some racially charged language. The victim, Jessica Doty Whitaker, leaves behind a little boy. “She shouldn’t have lost her life. She’s got a 3-year-old son she loved dearly,” said her fiance Jose Ramirez.

According to Ramirez, he and the victim and two other people were hanging out along the canal when someone in their group used a slang version of the N-word.That word prompted a confrontation by a group of strangers. During a brief argument, Ramirez claims the suspect’s group shouted Black Lives Matter and either Whitaker or someone in her group replied that All Lives Matter. The two sides separated because they realized they were both armed. The groups then fist bumped and walked away from each other.

“It was squashed and they went up the hill and left we thought, but they were sitting on St. Clair waiting for us to come under the bridge and that’s when she got shot,” said the victim’s fiancé Jose Ramirez.

The murder, and that’s what this is, occurred a week ago Sunday, yet you haven’t heard anything about it. Why is that? Seems to me that this would be news worthy. Some BLM supporters killing someone for saying all lives matter aught to be something you’d see on the news. The sad fact of the matter is most of the media have a vested interest in BLM. They can’t cover this because of that interest.

As of this writing, no suspects have been identified, but the IMPD and Indiana State Police are investigating.

A would-be robber in Delaware got a pie to the face instead of the register money. The owner of Stargate pizza in Greenwood said the thief entered the store around closing time, brandishing a machete and demanding cash.

“The store owner advised the suspect that he did not have any money and threw a pizza at him, causing the suspect to flee,” state police said. The suspect then ran from the scene and got into a vehicle and drove off.

Here’s another robbery story for you:

A Florida man had his home broken into by a trio of robbers. Unfortunately for the ne’er-do-wells, this homeowner was strapped. The suspects, 21-year-olds Luis Casado and Khyle Durham as well as 19-year-old Jeremiah Trammel found out that crime doesn’t pay. Luis and Khyle are deceased, and Jeremiah sprung a leak and tried to get away. Unfortunately for him, an armed neighbor held him at gunpoint until the police arrived. He is currently being held at the Pasco county jail, charged not only with home invasion robbery, but also with murder for the deaths of Luis and Khyle in the commission of a crime.

  • No Joy in Minnesota

    No Joy in Minnesota

Not long ago, Minnesota governor Tim Walz asked for federal disaster aid for his state in the wake of the George Floyd riots.

    https://twitter.com/TheoKeith/status/1278798665931464704?s=20

The riots, abetted by the dereliction of duty of the governor and mayors of Minneapolis and St. Paul, caused more than $500 million in damages. More than 1,500 buildings were damaged by fires, looting and vandalism in the days of unrest.

    https://twitter.com/RepJeffDuncan/status/1281922647207665664?s=20

    From the Star Tribune:

The federal government has denied Gov. Tim Walz’s request for aid to help rebuild and repair Twin Cities structures that were damaged in the unrest following George Floyd’s death.

Walz asked President Donald Trump to declare a “major disaster” for the state of Minnesota in his request to the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) on July 2. More than 1,500 buildings were damaged by fires, looting and vandalism in the days of unrest that followed Floyd’s May 25 death in Minneapolis police custody, racking up more than $500 million in damages, according to Walz.

The governor’s spokesman, Teddy Tschann, confirmed late Friday that the request for federal aid was denied.

“The Governor is disappointed that the federal government declined his request for financial support,” Tschann said in a statement. “As we navigate one of the most difficult periods in our state’s history, we look for support from our federal government to help us through.”

Too bad. Let’s be clear, the governor and mayors were directly responsible for the damage. It was their stand down orders, lack of leadership and failure to recognize the situation for what it was that allowed the riots to become what they did.

Why should a taxpayer in Florida or Texas bear the cost of the incompetence of the elected leadership in Minnesota?
