Did anyone ever expect that parades — of bikers, of trucks, of boats among other vehicles — would turn out to be a popular vehicle for Trump-supporters expressing their enthusiasm for re-electing the president? I know of no evidence at all that there was any guiding hand orchestrating the rallies that seem to have organically popped up all over the country.
We do know that Trump-haters hate them. A member of a truck parade in Portland was assassinated, after all.
But Don Surber, for whose political analysis I have the highest regard, has flatly declared that the following parade is “the best parade of all,” and who am I to dispute his judgment?
The Amish people of America are renowned for their forthright values and insistence on living a simple and virtuous life, even in the face of temptation. That a group of them would turn out for President Trump, a man for whom self-restraint and abstemiousness are not known as prominent characteristics, tells me that his accomplishments, not his style, are what matter most. There is food for thought here. https://www.americanthinker.com/blog/2020/09/is_this_the_best_trump_parade_of_all.html By Thomas Lifson – September 21, 2020
Comment: Everyone has their thought as to why, these spontaneous parades are taking place from all regions, all backgrounds and all sectors. But, more so than the reason is watching a nation come together – ALL UNITED is pretty awe inspiring.
TikTok and WeChat Banned in the US; What’s Really Behind China’s Airport Construction Binge
President Donald Trump’s administration will block Americans from downloading China-based applications WeChat and TikTok, citing national security concerns. This ban will go in effect on Sunday. U.S. Department of Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross said in a statement “Today’s actions prove once again that President Trump will do everything in his power to guarantee our national security and protect Americans from the threats of the Chinese Communist Party.”
Meanwhile, China is making a new push for logistic systems to stabilize its supply chains, and planned projects include the construction of hundreds of new airports. Yet behind this move is something deeper, and it may give us another hint at the true state of the Chinese economy. We’ll be explaining this in-depth.
And the new Quad alliance formed between the United States, Japan, India, and Australia is working to stand up against the Chinese Communist Party. According to Bruce Klingner, Senior Research Fellow on Northeast Asia at The Heritage Foundation, Japan in particular may need a bit more of a push to reach its full capabilities — and when it comes to standing up against the Chinese government, this may be necessary. He argues that the issue Japan faces isn’t its defense capabilities, but instead its hesitancy to employ them. To get a better sense of this, we’ve invited Bruce Klingner to speak with us. https://www.theepochtimes.com/tiktok-and-wechat-banned-in-the-us-whats-really-behind-chinas-airport-construction-binge_3505939.html
Comment: Personally, I am pleased to see the construction of airports getting the attention they deserve. I raised this warning flag about four or five years ago. These are not simply little runways or landing strips, they are full scale airports. This first caught my attention in Zimbabwe and while I disliked Mugabe intensely; the CCP literally plundered the diamond wealth of the nation. The CCP has stayed primarily in the Pacific Rim region, but their intent is apparent. And I find it offensive that their, the CCP, wealth has been built on the backs of plundering other nations, courtesy of the World Trade Agreement signed in 2001.
The coronavirus cases on lower Broadway may have been so low that the mayor’s office and the metro health department decided to keep it secret.
Emails between the mayor’s senior advisor and the health department reveal only a partial picture. But what they reveal is disturbing.
The discussion involves the low number of coronavirus cases emerging from bars and restaurants and how to handle that.and most disturbingly how to keep it from the public.
On June 30th, contact tracing was giving a small view of coronavirus clusters. Construction and nursing homes causing problems more than a thousand cases traced to each category, but bars and restaurants reported just 22 cases.
Leslie Waller from the health department asks “This isn’t going to be publicly released, right? Just info for Mayor’s Office?
“Correct, not for public consumption.” Writes senior advisor Benjamin Eagles
A month later the health department is asked point blank about the rumor there are only 80 cases traced to bars and restaurants.
Tennessean reporter Nate Rau asks “the figure you gave of “more than 80” does lead to a natural question: If there have been over 20,000 positive cases of COVID-19 in Davidson and only 80 or so are traced to restaurants and bars, doesn’t that mean restaurants and bars aren’t a very big problem?
Health department official Brian Todd asks 5 health department officials: Please advise how you recommend I respond. BT
The name at the top of the response is clipped off but you may find the answer unacceptable.
“My two cents. We have certainly refused to give counts per bar because those numbers are low per site.”
We could still release the total though, and then a response to the over 80 could be “because that number is increasing all the time and we don’t want to say a specific number.
Neither the health department or the mayor’s office would confirm the authenticity of the emails but councilmember Steve Glover had a metro staff attorney inquire. Here’s the official answer:
“I was able to get verification from the Mayor’s Office and the Department of Health that these emails are real” answered the staff attorney.
Glover says this is Metro Nashville orchestrating a cover up. “They are fabricating information. They’ve blown there entire credibility Dennis. Its gone i don’t trust a thing they say going forward …nothing.”
Glover says he has been contacted by an endless stream of downtown bartenders, waitresses, and restaurant owners. Why would they not release these numbers?
“We raised taxes 34 percent and put hundreds literally thousands of people out of work that are now worried about losing their homes their apartments etcetera and we did it on bogus data. That should be illegal!” he says.
Again, we weren’t told by the mayor’s office this wasn’t true. We were told to file a freedom of information act request.
Yesterday’s interview with Former Speak of the House, Newt Gingrich turned in to one of the strangest events in recent days, in an exchange with Harris Faulkner and Melissa Francis of Fox News. Francis stating “I don’t think we need to bring George Soros in to this” (Soros is the latest No Name?) You be the Judge………..
This is one of the weirdest exchanges I’ve ever seen on TV. @newtgingrich correctly points out that George Soros threw an unprecedented amount of money into DA races all over the country to elect radicals and Fox News basically told him to shut up. WTF? pic.twitter.com/IxwcLG2gOH
In one smaller DA race alone George Soros pumped in $800,000. He’s done this all over the country to elect extremists. This has been widely reported. I’ve always had a lot of respect for you @HARRISFAULKNER but why was Newt shut down for pointing this out?https://t.co/hQKJI3d43x
In Philadelphia George Soros spent an insane $1,700,000 to elect Larry Krasner as the DA. He bought that race entirely. He’s done this all over the country. How is this even the slightest bit controversial to point out @HARRISFAULKNER@MelissaAFrancis? https://t.co/KmGeQX42sk
2015 is when George Soros began to inject insane $ into DA races that usually have campaign budgets in the low 5 figures. Look at this story from 2016 when media first realized what Soros was doing. Again, why can’t @newtgingrich talk about this @HARRISFAULKNER@MelissaAFrancis? pic.twitter.com/ov4CiLS2vZ
Here’s another DA race funded by Soros, one of the few that didn’t work out but it’s worth looking at the fact his spend was "the largest made in a race for the District Attorney’s office" in San Diego. This isn’t a conspiracy theory, this is & has been happening @HARRISFAULKNER. pic.twitter.com/XZIS65K8od
Here’s an interesting one. George Soros put $406,000 into a DA race for Cado Parish in Louisiana. This isn’t some huge city. This district represents 250,000 people. That kind of money in a DA race like this is totally insane. This was in 2015 when he started doing this. pic.twitter.com/AluatGziIs
In my opinion the Elephant in the Room is not a question about George Soros’ wealth, funding the appointment of many of these District Attorneys. That has been well documented and covered quite extensively by many news outlets. Or that through his Open Society and Democratic Alliance, the Black Lives Matter has received funding . Nor, do we need to question the corporate donations that have been directed to BLM/Antifa via ActBlue. Those donors can be traced by completing an audit of ActBlue’s records.
No, the funds in question are the ones being sent to Soros directly or that he is tasked with administrating; quite possibly through off shore accounts or potentially the Dark Web where many transactions were taking place in crypto-currencies. And who or where is the source? And aside from fact, they are very deep pockets; which foreign and domestic interests/entities have in essence, invested in the overthrow of the US government and President Trump? Keeping in mind that the George Floyd and Black Lives Matter protests were staged world wide and that requires a lot of money and protests have been ongoing since 2016. Or that Soros (born Gyorgy Schwartz in Hungary in 1930) cries wolf and shamefully hides behind his Jewish ancestry ever time the issue of funding is questioned.
Note worthy, just prior to Soros speaking in Davos in 2017 he suffered a heart attack and subsequently, directed (returned) $18 billion to Open Society Org and retained $8 billion as his personal wealth. https://www.conservapedia.com/George_Soros
Mr. Soros and his companies are basically banned from 9+ countries, one of which is Israel. They want peace, as do we all or at least the Silent Majority of us would like Peace. And no, Freedom is not Free; therefore, why all the media silence surrounding Soros?
The credit for this thread rests with Stu Crvk a former writer & contributor of the RedState News; and someone who I follow and continue to on the social media platforms. However, in the interest of continuity, as Twitter can be a bit of a beast when unrolling a long thread; I have compiled the tweets in to a single thread.
1. Every @NFL team is deserving of a deluge of letters similar to this one by a fed-up fan of the erstwhile Houston Texans! This is from the ‘Net. Enjoy! 2. An Open Letter to the Houston Texans By Mark W. Stephens When people think of Texans, they rightly think of our heritage. Rugged individuals who came together to forge our Republic. Heroes and fighters. Men and women void of fear. 3. They think of the “Old 18,” eighteen men who stood against the Mexican Army as they tried to claim the Gonzalez Canon and held them off until the Texas Militia arrived. 4. They think of the Texas women who ripped away part of a wedding dress and pieced together that infamous white cloth with a drawing of a Lone Star, a canon, and a simple four-word reply to the mighty Mexican Army… “Come And Take It.” 5. They think of the “Immortal 32,” thirty-two men from the Texas Militia who marched fearlessly from Gonzales to San Antonio, knowing it would be their last, to unselfishly reinforce their fellow Texans under siege at the Alamo 6. They think of the couple of hundred defenders of the Alamo who CHOSE to stay and fight against a couple of thousand Mexican soldiers, knowing it was a death sentence. 7. They think of how those few men held off the powerful Mexican Army for thirteen full days before they offered the ultimate sacrifice for the birth of the Texas Republic. 8. They think of men like Davy Crockett, Jim Bowie, and Colonel William Barrett Travis, the latter of whom requested reinforcements as he battled the Mexican Army. 9. Knowing in his heart they would never come, still, he wrote, “I shall never surrender or retreat” and he let the world know he understood his fate when he further wrote, …. 9A. … “I am determined to sustain myself as long as possible and die like a soldier who never forgets what is due to his own honor and that of his Country. 10. And they think of that tenacious signature that has gone down in the annals of history and will forever be remembered as one of Texas’ proudest moments, “VICTORY or DEATH.” 11. They think of that day in April 1836, when a rag-tag group of 800 Texas Militia led by General Sam Houston surprised and attacked the much larger Mexican Army of a couple of thousand troops along the banks of the San Jacinto River and ROUTED them, …. 11A. … with the cries of “Remember the Alamo!” and “Remember Goliad!” They captured General Santa Anna. They forced the Mexican Army to surrender, they won freedom and independence for all Texans, and they won the hearts and loyalty from all Texans in return. Forever. 12. These men of character and grit will forever be known as Texans. They earned that title. 13. Those of us who follow in their boot steps and are blessed by the Grace of God to be Texan, try to emulate our forefathers, and try to bring honor, strength, and character to our beloved State and thus earn our own title of “Texan.” 14. Conversely, your team members wear a uniform calling themselves “Texans” – as the simple participants of a billion-dollar child’s game – and are most assuredly as evidenced by your atrocious behavior on September 10, 2020, undeserving of the title of “Texan.” 15. To be Texan is to be courageous, strong, and brave. Texans don’t bow to outside pressure, political or otherwise. Texans kneel only to God. You are not Texan. 16. On the day before the sacred and solemn day of 9/11, where we honor so many of our brave and heroic police officers and firefighters who paid the ultimate sacrifice, you took the football field prior to the playing of our country’s National Anthem, as a team. 17. And instead of honoring our fallen heroes of 9/11, you chose to honor rapists, robbers, and drug dealers. 18. Then, prior to the playing of our National Anthem, you fled from the field as a team. You turned your backs on our flag. You turned your backs on our soldiers. You turned your backs on our police officers. 19. You fled to the bowels of the stadium locker room to cower and hide rather than show support for the Flag of the United States of America and honor our heroes here and abroad. Texans don’t run. 20. Time and time again, you’ve chosen to honor common criminals like George Floyd, who was convicted of pistol-whipping and robbing a young Houston woman and pointing a gun at her young daughter …. 20A. … while his gang robbed this poor woman and her family of all their belongings. 21. A brutal man who repeatedly targeted Hispanics here in Houston for robbery and who ultimately died from a self-inflicted overdose of illegal drugs, while committing yet another series of felony crimes. 22. Can you imagine the horrors these poor Houston crime victims of George Floyd are having to endure once again because you chose to “honor” the monster who brutalized them and their families? 23. You honor Breonna Taylor, an alleged criminal suspect in a homicide case and member of an organized drug gang, whose boyfriend shot a police officer while she stood by his side and was ultimately shot and killed herself in the ensuing gunfight. 24. You honor Jacob Blake, a known woman abuser and active fugitive wanted for the brutal sexual assault of a woman, who then stole her car and her bank card, physically attacked pursuing police officers, …. 24A. … then pulled a knife on the officers and attempted to flee in a stolen car with children inside before police officers shot him. 25. You honor these criminals in the pretense of “supporting” the black community. If you truly wanted to support and honor the black community, you would strongly condemn those who prey upon them. 26. If you truly wanted to support and honor the black community, you would refuse to celebrate black criminals and instead honor their victims. 27. Imagine a day when little boys realize their only way to make it to the NFL is to commit vicious crimes and attack police officers so the NFL will one-day “honor” them too. That is the dynamic you are creating. 28. By honoring black criminals, you are only perpetuating and glorifying that criminal lifestyle and empowering other vicious criminals to continue their criminal enterprise within and against black communities. That is not Texan. 29. Texans don’t honor and support criminals. Period. Texans are proud to protect ourselves, our families, our neighbors, and especially those who are unable to protect themselves from such violent predators. Criminals like George Floyd flee Texas for a reason. 30. Just so you know, there is a federal statute that directs all Americans on how they should behave and conduct themselves during the presenting of the Flag of the United States of American and the playing of the Star-Spangled Banner, known as our National Anthem. 31. Title 36, Section 301, sub-section C of the United States Code regarding the National Anthem states in part, “all other persons present (other than those in uniform) should face the flag and stand at attention with their right hand over the heart, …. 31A. … and men not in uniform, if applicable, should remove their headdress with their right hand and hold it at the left shoulder, the hand being over the heart.” 32. This is not negotiable. You have no valid excuse nor any valid reason to show such disdain and disrespect to our country, our flag, our National Anthem, our soldiers, and our police officers, ESPECIALLY when you represent “Texans” while doing so. 33. I find it incredibly ironic, if not entirely hypocritical, that an organization like the NFL whose very business platform closely resembles the slave trade days of the old South where men were bought, sold, and traded based on their size and strength, …. 33A. … believes they have the moral authority, or any other authority for that matter, to dictate social norms to others. 34. The NFL organization and employees, both current and former, consist of burglars & thieves, drug dealers, abusers of women, rapists, robbers, & murderers. How do you choose which ones to hire, fire, or “honor”? If you’re trying to lead by example, you have failed miserably. 35. Texans don’t need anyone to tell them how or what to think. 36. Therefore, it is for the aforementioned reasons that I make a very simple, but reasonable suggestion. Change the name of your team. 37. The Houston Texans in their current state, in no way, shape, or form, represent Texas or Texans. 38. Thus, I will support any official petition to change the name of the Houston Texans by removing the word Texans, as I believe you have come to woefully misrepresent those of us who have earned and actually value the title, Texan. 39. Very simply, you are not Texans. With All Due Respect, Mark W. Stephens 40. A-frickin’-men! I’ll go one step further: I am DONE with the @NFL and all of their virtue-signaling snowflake millionaires. ///The end.
I was Curious as to why a recent article from The Hill chose, what appears to be a rather unflattering photo of Susan Sandler and who exactly is this lady?
Philanthropist Susan Sandler announced on Monday that she will invest $200 million in social justice organizations committed to fighting systemic racism and boosting turnout in underrepresented communities in battleground states.
Sandler announced the investments, which will be carried out through the newly formed Susan Sandler Fund, in a Medium post.
Among the progressive groups that have received grants from the organization are the Texas Organizing Project, New Virginia Majority and the New Florida Majority, Sandler wrote.
“I have come to believe that the most effective way to transform societal priorities and public policies is to change the balance of power, not change the minds of those who hold power,” she wrote.
So without a tremendous amount of digging, (lucky hits) I found some very interesting facts out, related to Ms. Sandler and a copy of the original photo, which her picture was cropped from with her husband, Steven Phillips. Phillips, a San Francisco lawyer is also a regular writer for the New York Times and is best known as a co-founder of PowerPAC. The very same PowerPAC that in 2018 backed: John Chiang (California), Stacey Abrams (Georgia), Ben Jealous (Maryland), Andrew Gillum (Florida) and David Garcia (Arizona).
Phillips and his partners in the highly secretive group Democracy Alliance hope that by electing far-left governors into four currently Republican-led states, the drive to impeach President Donald Trump and destroy his “Make America Great Again” agenda will be accelerated.
And yes, we are speaking of the same famed Democracy Alliance, which was founded by George Soros and Erica Payne.
Phillips and his wealthy leftist colleagues are also working closely with Our Revolution, the nationwide leftist alliance formed out of the Bernie Sanders campaign. Our Revolution is completely dominated by the largest Marxist organization in the United States, the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA). Our Revolution also has support from Communist Party USA (CPUSA), Committees of Correspondence for Democracy and Socialism (CCDS), and FRSO. The three latter groups support the Chinese Communist Party, as do certain sectors of DSA. https://www.theepochtimes.com/steve-phillips-meet-the-mega-wealthy-marxist-leninist-behind-four-potential-governors-in-november-2_2639953.html
This article from Epoch Times is a great read and well worth the time. However, although very informative, is not some of the more fascinating aspects to this powerful, yet rather secretive billionaire couple.
Susan is the daughter of the Herb and Marion Sandler. The same Sandler’s who founded the Golden West Savings & Loan (World Savings) and cashed out in 2006, just prior to the housing bubble crash, by selling their company for $24.3 billion to Wachovia in North Carolina—the same bank that went belly-up a couple of years later. Wachovia eventually landed in the lap of Wells Fargo.
In the eyes of many taxpaying Americans, however, the bailouts that followed smacked of cronyism between big government and big business. But the most notorious cronyism took place behind the scenes. It included actors in the nonprofit and philanthropic world, both of which had excessive influence in the crisis and its legislative aftermath. Call it full spectrum cronyism.
In August 2010, housing activist Martin Eakes boasted to a gathering of MBA students at Duke University that the ideas hatched in the nonprofit that he founded, called Self Help, were now the law of the land. He was referring to provisions in the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act, which had passed the month before.
Some could barely withhold their disdain at the beginning of the crash and justifiably so…..
At the heart of the problem were mortgages designed and promoted to lure people into signing on the dotted line — while unwittingly signing away their future. The epicenter of this earthquake was in California. But the true epicenter can be located with greater precision at the headquarters of World Savings, the nation’s second-largest savings and loan, founded and led by Herb and Marion Sandler.
Will the Sandlers suffer more than just obloquy in the press⢠Will the U.S. attorney be successful⢠Will abused borrowers be able to bring successful class actions?
The answer might well be found in Washington.
The Sandlers are sugar daddies to the Democratic Party. The couple and their children have given more than $350,000 to party committees, candidates and liberal political action committees. They gave money to help fund the Obama transition team before he assumed office.
They, along with their political and ideological ally George Soros, are among the top five funders in America of 527 groups that promote a liberal agenda.
And once again we see the re-emergence of some of the most unsavory names to be bantered about in most recent years
The center now is providing people to man key positions in the Obama administration. John Podesta — the head of CAP — led the transition team.
Will levers be pulled to help the Sandlers avoid further scrutiny⢠Will Attorney General Eric Holder, not immune in the past to allowing political factors influence his decision-making, send a message to the U.S. attorney in San Francisco to focus on other issues than the Sanders?
Now, while many of us may retort loudly, at what seem to be the weaponizing of ill gotten gains, against the silent majority, by those we refer to as the Left; there is a part of me that sits in awe with their sheer unabated moxie.
And I did discover, or what I assume at least, was the reason for Susan’s generous $200 million donation. Back in 2016, Susan was diagnosed with glioblastoma, which is an aggressive form of brain cancer. Life expectancy can be quite short and she may have been celebrating year four.
Barr Requesting a Report From Durham Is Consistent With DOJ Policy — Those Suggesting Otherwise Are Partisan Opponents
Another subject of the online “Greek Chorus” of former federal prosecutors gives voice to “outrage” over the suggestion that Attorney General Barr is asking US Attorney Durham to produce an “interim report” of his investigation to date into the origins of the Russia Hoax investigation. The enterprise was initiated by the Obama Administration and carried over into the Trump Administration by members of the Anti-Trump “Resistance” embedded into the federal government, later spearheaded by the Robert Mueller-headed Special Counsel’s Office.
Before we get to their lamentations, let’s first lay a foundation for considering their hypocrisy.
The DOJ regulations governing the appointment of a “Special Counsel” like Robert Mueller, provide the following:
§ 600.8 Notification and reports by the Special Counsel.
(2) (c) Closing documentation. At the conclusion of the Special Counsel’s work, he or she shall provide the Attorney General with a confidential report explaining the prosecution or declination decisions reached by the Special Counsel.
Does “a confidential report” look anything like this?
Where were the objectors when the SCO decided that publishing a book accorded with the Regulations which said a “confidential report” should be submitted to the Attorney General?
All those squawking that Durham would be violating DOJ Policy by producing a report to the AG were conspicuously silent — no, I take that back — they were SHOUTING from the rooftops that the findings of the SCO had to be made public. In fact, Mueller’s Staff of Democrat Partisans drafted executive summaries for each chapter that would not require DOJ declassification review for the very purpose of having those released to the public ahead of the release of the actual report itself, so all the Partisans’ conclusion and suppositions could begin to take root in the media coverage as “facts.”
Democrats in Congress DEMANDED that the SCO’s findings be released to the public because they were convinced the SCO would uncover all the evidence that HAD TO EXIST to show that Pres. Trump was a Russian agent and a Putin stooge. They just had to find it because so much had been leaked to the media by the Intelligence Community for nearly 3 years that said it was so.
So, with that backdrop of “hypocrisy”, let’s check in with the “Greek Chorus” referenced above:
Prosecutors do not issue interim “reports” or comment on ongoing investigations.
DOJ policy requires a moratorium on significant events in investigations that might influence an election within 60 days of that election.
Bill Barr is trying to violate both of these policies.
The 60-day reference he makes is not policy — he’s misleading the readers.
As a federal prosecutor for almost 20 years, I never issued or observed a public report about an investigation. We either filed an indictment or we closed the investigation. A public report by Durham would violate the very thing for which @Comey was purportedly fired. https://t.co/4NYPCMGIyd
That’s not what Comey was fired for. Comey was fired because he was insubordinate when he usurped to the FBI Director a decision that belonged to the Attorney General when he thought the Attorney General had compromised herself on the question. That wasn’t for him to decide. McQuade is a dishonest hack who had a reputation for running a “do nothing” office in Detroit that was avoided by federal agencies when they could get cases filed elsewhere.
Three critically important points regarding Barr’s attempt to force Durham to issue an interim report before the election: 1. PROSECUTORS DO NOT ISSUE REPORTS, 2. PROSECUTORS DO NOT ISSUE REPORTS AND 3. PROSECUTORS DO NOT ISSUE REPORTS. This is a Bill Barr election smear!
There’s really no explaining Kirschner — how this guy was a senior DOJ official just baffles me.
So, what is this “DOJ Policy” and what does it mean?
1-7.000 — CONFIDENTIALITY AND MEDIA CONTACTS POLICY
1-7.001 – Purpose
The Department of Justice (DOJ) Confidentiality and Media Contacts Policy (the Policy) applies to all DOJ personnel, including employees, contractors, detailees, and task force partners.
The Policy governs the protection and release of information that DOJ personnel obtain in the course of their work, and it balances four primary interests: (1) an individual’s right to a fair trial or adjudicative proceeding; (2) an individual’s interest in privacy; (3) the government’s ability to administer justice and promote public safety; and (4) the right of the public to have access to information about the Department of Justice.
The Policy provides internal guidance only and does not create any rights enforceable in law or otherwise. DOJ components may promulgate more specific policies, consistent with and subject to this Policy.
Here is a second important provision on under what circumstances public comment is allowed:
1-7.400 – Disclosure of Information Concerning Ongoing Criminal, Civil, or Administrative Investigations
A. Any communication by DOJ personnel with a member of the media relating to a pending investigation or case must be approved in advance by the appropriate United States Attorney or Assistant Attorney General…
B. DOJ generally will not confirm the existence of or otherwise comment about ongoing investigations….
C. When the community needs to be reassured that the appropriate law enforcement agency is investigating a matter, or where release of information is necessary to protect the public safety, comments about or confirmation of an ongoing investigation may be necessary, subject to the approval requirement in subparagraph A.
So, that “policy” all the lefty partisan former DOJ types are gnashing their teeth over actually provides that one of the interests balanced in the policy is the right of the public to have access to information about DOJ.
Further, the policy against commenting on ongoing investigations is subject to exceptions depending on circumstances — it is “generally” applicable, which means that it may be waived under appropriate circumstances. One of the explicit grounds for waiving the policy set forth in the policy is the need to reassure the community that a matter is under investigation — including commenting on the status of the investigation.
Whether the left-wing liberal legal eagles like it or not, there are millions of Trump supporters who WANT to know what Durham is doing, and who want to know that potentially criminal matters uncovered by the IG investigations are being pursued and that offenders are going to be prosecuted just like any other citizen would be in the same circumstances.
More significantly, the subject of the investigation is official misconduct of government actors — from working FBI agents and line DOJ attorneys right up to the Obama Administration Attorney General and FBI Director.
No serious case can be made that these are not matters of grave public concern. If the Russia investigation was an orchestrated farce from the very start — and later pursued by the SCO for the purpose of obstructing the duly elected President of the United States in the performance of his duties in that office, the public should know before the next election if the party seeking to regain the White House was functionally responsible for such obstructive behaviors.
Declaring that Brennan, Clapper, Comey, McCabe, Strzok, and other Anti-Trump partisans should enjoy the same confidentiality protections as private citizens, under circumstances where their actions were that of public officials wielding the authority of the federal government, is simply idiotic. As the saying goes, “the Constitution is not a suicide pact.” The Trump Administration is not required to sit quietly and suffer through a second election while the gears of the Democrat party and federal bureaucratic resistance do all they can to undermine and defeat the Administration.
The opposition partisans are ALL writing books with their narratives. It will be interesting to see how well those narratives hold up under the revelations that a Durham report might bring.
This is truly one exceptional instance where “sunshine is the best disinfectant.” Let the sun shine on all the evidence that Durham has unearthed, and let the Court of Public opinion render a verdict at the ballot box in November.
The fear driving the Democrat partisans wringing their hands over a possible Durham report is that Trump will win re-election, and then the “dogs of war” are really going to come after the malefactors.
Why should President Trump be forgiving in a second term?
They know he won’t be, and William Barr has pledged that nothing like what happened in 2016 should ever happen to a Presidential candidate again.
If there is anything that the fires in California taught us during 2018 & 2019 and that would be to not blame Mother Nature for all our woes. Yes, the timing does seem to be aligned with fire season. But, as we saw with the recent legal settlement with PG&E; contributing factors must be taken in to consideration.
And I can’t help but ask myself – what portion of these fires are being set intentionally for the purposes of obtaining emergency Federal funds to help with their financial woes (Arson)? Giving little consideration to the loss of life or property? And why, would the FBI refute the existence of arsonists? Who are these people and what organizations are they affiliated with?
Change of Venue: Investigating Mueller vs Mueller Investigation
What ever do you mean? Well, it seems that quite by “accident” that 15 members of the Mueller Investigative team in to Russian Collusion each erased their data from their IPhones back in 2018. What a coincidence !!
One needs to cover these topics for an extensive amount of time to appreciate the pure insanity ….. but, I so like the way Richard Grenell thinks.
Unfortunately for Mr. Goldberg the very same day that his article appeared it was also debunked as being unreliable & false by Techno Fog. Now for those of you, who are not familiar with Techno Fog. He happens to be a very reliable and credible lawyer, who has completed excellent pro bono research on the General Michael Flynn case.
And this too was an interesting twist, which sent up flags for anyone who is a regular and familiar with the Twitterverse. This tweet appeared on the same day September 3 and has 118,800 upvotes/likes. Now the only time you will see that number of likes is if they are a Democrat or one of their left leaning supporters. And if you catch it at the exact moment, within that short window of the post appearing the likes will increase very rapidly.
But we all know how the propaganda machine works and once MSM have their 4 AM talking points; just try and stop it. Bobby has not been successful in having his image removed, so far. But he is quickly becoming one of social media, darlings; appearing in articles in Gateway Pundit and Breitbart. Never the less, he remains undeterred and maintains a sense of humor after being thrust in to the spotlight.
Finally, it appears on September 7 that Mr. Goldberg is running out of clarification talking points and the truth may be around the corner. But, I somehow doubt it…..
And wouldn’t you just know it. This is not the first time Operation L&S has been deployed as Shipwrecked points out with RedState News. Dan Rather back in 2004 had a Goldberg moment. Wonder if they know one another, Goldberg & Rather that is?
Among the reading I did over the weekend about the Atlantic article, I had a “V8” moment (Google it) when I read this piece at Powerlineblog noting similarities between the Atlantic story and the bogus National Guard story run by Dan Rather and 60 Minutes against President Bush 43 just ahead of the 2004 election. The guys at Powerline came to prominence as a result of their work on gutting Rather’s story. Pretty much 99.99% of the real world — everyone except Rather — understands now that “Rathergate” was based on a bunch of documents that were created for the purpose of generating the resulting story, which had zero basis in fact.
Currently, we have Kamala Harris and Peter Strzok warning us about the Russians, AGAIN. Surely, there is another Trump sex scandal just around the corner.
