  • Opinion – Only, Black Lives Matter in 2020 . . .

    Opinion – Only, Black Lives Matter in 2020 . . .

    Or A Purple Revolution?

    Historical Context

The Black Lives Matter (BLM) movement began in 2013 as a result of the acquittal of George Zimmerman in the shooting death of Trayvon Martin in February, 2012.

“Alicia Garza, along with Opal Tometi and Patrisse Khan-Cullors, also co-founded Black Lives Matter, a globally recognized organizing project that focuses on combating anti-Black state-sanctioned violence and the oppression of all Black people.”

    https://blacklivesmatter.com/our-co-founders/

Flash forward forward to 2020 and we see, what appears to be a very different BLM from those earlier years.

George Floyd tragically died on May 25, 2020 and almost immediately BLM protests were occurring worldwide as reported by NBC on June 9, 2020 (40 countries and 2000 American cities)

    https://www.nbcnews.com/news/world/map-george-floyd-protests-countries-worldwide-n1228391

So, if anyone felt as I did, within that two week window – we were watching a very coordinated & intentional attack. What initially were peaceful protests escalated so rapidly, we could scarcely blink an eye. Millions of dollars of destruction to personal property and businesses, commencing in Minneapolis, the location where Mr. Floyd had died.  Burning, looting and shootings then circled the country, primarily in Democrat states and many scenes initially showed young white males between the ages of 18 and 35 as the perpetrators.

All the MSM provided coverage, day in and day out.  We watched four funerals, complete with a gold casket.  Democrats taking a knee and wearing Kente cloths, an African tribe associated with slave trading.  George Floyd’s family was afforded an audience with the United Nations to discuss policing. Seattle, Washington became a focal point and protesters  set barriers around six square blocks declaring themselves the independent nation state of CHAZ or CHOP. The public feeling great empathy for the graphic scenes of Mr. Floyd death, donated millions to the BLM; which was being coordinated via a company named ActBlue.  And ActBlue’s administrators were former members of the Underground Movement and the monies were further being redirected primarily to the Democrat Party.

    More here

    Wait a minute – wait a minute!!!

Who or what was the source of the money?  Because three women had the resources to instantaneously coordinate protests in forty countries.  I don’t think so.

    June 13, 2020

“WASHINGTON, DC: George Soros has given Black Lives Matter and the Antifa related revolutionary movement more than $100 million dollars. The Soros run Open Society Foundations is on record with giving Black Lives Matter $33 million dollars this year alone.”

    https://www.newsbreak.com/district-of-columbia/washington/news/0PKb3sg3/george-soros-gave-black-lives-matter-and-antifa-over-100-million-dollars

July 14, 2020 (Soros is doubling down)

“JTA — Open Society, the foundation founded by liberal billionaire philanthropist George Soros, is set to donate $220 million to racial justice groups in the wake of awareness stoked by civil unrest around the issue of police brutality.”

    https://www.timesofisrael.com/soros-foundation-to-give-220-million-to-black-groups-advocating-racial-justice/

So now we understand in part, the attack on our policing

    https://twitter.com/FarleyMedia/status/1281359664408522753?s=20

And what about the actions of National Lawyers Guild

    https://twitter.com/MrAndyNgo/status/1283389880429686786?s=20
Now, I wanted to provide some substance to my opinion from the information provided above. I believe effective November, 2016 with Hillary Clinton’s congratulatory speech to President Trump on his win, that a Purple Revolutionary war was declared. Complete with a purple pantsuit & former President Clinton’s purple tie. Some may scoff at the idea. However, I would suggest, if we look at a prior Purple Revolution such as, Ukraine for example; you will find a duplication.
Complete with the escalation of old grudges or social issues, financial stress, and turning the police and military against the public. Inclusive of terrorists who appear to have paramilitary training, the resources and the coordinated communications. (BLM – COVID – Defund the Police)

What definitely concerns me the most, is many of these SAME participants are domestic or home grown and this is NOT their first time working together.

A couple from Kentucky have been fitted with ankle monitors and placed under house arrest.

Elizabeth Linscott and her husband, Isaiah, got tested for Covid as a precaution because they were planning to visit her parents in Michigan. Their troubles began after the test came back positive.

After testing positive but without showing any symptoms, Linscott said the health department contacted her and requested she sign documents that will limit her traveling anywhere unless she calls the health department first. She said she chose to not sign.

“My part was if I have to go to the ER, if I have to go to the hospital, I’m not going to wait to get the approval to go,” she said.

    https://twitter.com/FOX19/status/1284680861296852994?s=20

A couple of days after she declined to sign the Self-isolation and Controlled Movement Agreed Order, Linscott said the Hardin County Sheriff’s Department arrived at her home without warning. Her husband, Isaiah, was home.

“I open up the door, and there’s like eight different people, five different cars,” he said. “I’m like, ‘What the heck’s going on?‘ This guy’s in a suit with a mask. It’s the health department guy, and he has three papers for us – for me, her and my daughter.” The couple was ordered to wear ankle monitors. If they travel more than 200 feet, law enforcement will be notified.

Elizabeth Linscott said that although she never refused to self-quarantine, “that’s exactly what the director of the public health department told the judge. . . I’m like, ‘that’s not the case at all. I never said that,” she said.

The couple plans on hiring an attorney.

  • The Portland Problem

    The Portland Problem

For the past 50 nights, there have been riots, err, peaceful protests in the city of Portland. At least that’s what the media and Democratic politicians would have you believe.

The facts on the ground are a bit different. AntiFa and BLM have assaulted police, assaulted bystanders, set fire to buildings, toppled statues and graffitied any and everything they could. Here are some of the disturbing images and video that have been taken in the Rose City since the unrest started.

I wrote about the Feds response in yesterday’s View from Here. It seems they have a list, and they’re not bothering with checking it twice. They are reportedly snatching people right off the streets, hustling them into unmarked vans, and transporting them directly to the federal courthouse. Some have been charged, some haven’t and some, well, we just don’t know. My take is if the authorities in Portland won’t or can’t take care of the problem, then the feds need to step up and do so.

This has gone way beyond peaceful protesting and well into rioting and insurrection. Its past time for these riots to be put down.

  • Observations from an Armed Hiker

    Observations from an Armed Hiker

    Prologue

Before I start, the term “armed hiker” is not meant to be a synonym for “unsuccessful hunter”. It’s not. An unsuccessful hunter implies that finding game animals and harvesting them was the goal, whereas all I wanted to do was march around in semi-swamplands for a few hours wearing camo and carrying a rifle. Now, my companion on both trips was an unsuccessful hunter, but that’s his problem.

Anyway, my first two armed hikes are complete, and I’ve learned a few lessons from the meeting of armament with walking in the wilderness.

    Groupies

Firstly: be prepared to deal with groupies. They’ll get stirred up as you pass them, and they’ll follow you incessantly after that. Bring sufficient repellent – OFF works, but so does covering yourself in mud (depending on your location, this may improve your skin at the same time). Like all hordes, groupies will pester you every time you stop moving, interfering with your ability to spot wildlife. Or your companions. Or your ability to avoid headaches. The buzzing sound they make when they’re trying to suck the life out of you is… well, the best that can be said about it is that wild groupies aren’t as bad as the ones chasing Justin Beiber (those ones are impervious to chemical repellents), though they still have the same goals. Use whatever repellents you have on hand, even if it requires leaving the hiking area to acquire fresh supplies, and reapply it liberally every few hours.

There’s another kind of annoying groupie out there also: these, fortunately, don’t make any noise, but they’ll climb into your pants, cling to your legs and suck the life out of you all the same. If you find them on you, it’s important to shout “BEGONE, THOT!” as you remove it.

    For thematic reasons, obviously.

Be sure to use tweezers (try not to pop them as you do), and check to see if they left any teeth stuck in your flesh – you really don’t want to know where that mouth has been, so be sure to disinfect the bite area as well. These, too, can be warded off with the appropriate chemical agents, but even if you have some it’s still best to completely cover your legs and feet.

Remember: flies spread disease, so keep yours closed.

Game – I mean Mobile Waypoints

Second: mobile waypoints. Mine happen to be quadrupeds with cloven hooves and the occasional pair of tusks, but they are not wild hogs. They’re mobile waypoints. And it’s my job as an armed hiker to locate them, use my armament to secure them, and then disassemble them so they can be cooked and eat… I mean repaired. They’re broken, you see. I need to take them apart because they need repairs. Which involves cast iron cookware and a gas-powered grill. And a big knife. And a few other tools that one might otherwise mistake for hunting implements. They aren’t, but you’d be forgiven for thinking so.

These broken mobile waypoints have a tough chassis and dense inner mechanisms, so it’s always important to ensure your armament is up to the task. If you can carry a 37mm artillery piece, that will certainly do the job, but be sure you don’t load it with HE rounds: you’ll be cleaning up the mess for days, and you’ll never get it repaired.

I haven’t found any yet, but third time’s the charm, as they say. I’ll become a mobile waypoint repairman yet!

    Weight

Third: weight. It’s really amazing how much more something weighs when you’ve been carrying it for two hours and change, compared to when you were sitting on a bench at the shooting range. My hunting rifle takes box magazines, but even when I took the magazine out and just had a single round loaded in the chamber, I found myself repeatedly having to shift my carry position – even with the sling – trying to balance the load in a comfortable way. A single-point sling, like the one my companion jury-rigged up, would probably have helped, but I’m not that clever.

When you’ve done it once, it’s much easier to understand why some people hunt with handguns: hip holsters carry the weight much better.

Water, of course, is a must – and it’s really easy to underestimate how much water you will need in the field. Obviously it varies based on weather and local conditions, but unless you’re an experienced hiker it’s best to carry at least 50% more water than you think you’ll need. Water is, however, heavy. Each gallon of water you carry weighs about 9 pounds, so be sure to distribute it well in your pack.

On my first hike I carried an insulated thermos with ice water in it – the amount was more than enough, but it was a mistake to carry it that way, as the water made a lot of noise sloshing around inside the thermos. A camelback-style reservoir will shrink around the water it carries as you drink it, so it won’t slosh; this is a much better option, and you won’t even need to open your pack to get at it if you’ve got the straw attached.

I thought I was very clever for thinking of that for my second trip; I hadn’t, however, counted on the fact that my reservoir didn’t tolerate being turned upside-down very well, and as my pack didn’t have a pouch specifically for it I ended up with some of my water on my lower back. So be sure that yours has a proper seal before you head out.

Of course, the heaviest load is the gam… I mean the mobile waypoints themselves, if you manage to bag one. Whether you disassemble them in the field or you’re bringing them back whole, it’s not an insignificant factor. My companion’s plan was to disassemble them in place and carry back the tastie… I mean the most important pieces, and leave the rest. Now, you might think leaving the bulk of a damaged machine where you found it will make it more vulnerable to corrosion and such, and you’d be right. But some sacrifices must be made in the name of bacon. I mean… well, you know what I mean.

So whether you’re an armed hiker or an unsuccessful hunter – or, wonder of wonders, a successful hunter – or just considering becoming one of the preceding yourself at some point, hopefully you’ve found some insight into my recollections. Or at least a few laughs.

The Tree of Peace helped unite one of the most powerful leagues ever, The Iroquois League of Nations. The Iroquois League was made up of six tribes: the Cayuga, the Mohawk, the Oneida, the Onondaga, the Seneca, and the Tuscarora.

The tribes of the Iroquois League at one time were fighting with one another. There were fierce battles, but the people grew tired of the fighting. So they agreed to bury their weapons under a giant white pine tree. They believed that the weapons would be carried away by the underground waters. So they sent the weapons off through the path of the roots. The weapons went in all four directions. After that, the tribes no longer fought. Instead, they formed the Iroquois League.

Today the Iroquois people have peace with one another and together the tribes form a powerful nation

    Three Injured in Church Stabbing

Three people were injured in a stabbing incident inside a church in Chantilly VA. Witnesses say a man drove up to the entrance and ran inside where he entered a Bible study class and stabbed the pastor. Two congregants rushed to aid the pastor, with one receiving wounds requiring medical attention.

Fairfax county chief of police, Edwin C. Roessler, who was in attendance, was also injured while taking the suspect into custody. The names of the other two victims have not been released at this time. None of the injuries appear to be life threatening.

A pastor at the church issued the following statement:

    Greetings,

Today, in a routine church educational setting, one of our pastors was assaulted by an attendee. Two church members came to the pastor’s aid and valiantly risked their own lives to defend him. In the process, one of our members was injured. The pastor and one of the members are being treated at Reston Hospital for non life-threatening injuries. The other member involved sustained injuries that did not require medical attention. The assailant was taken into captivity at the scene.

We are in prayer for all the injured. We are grateful for the courage exhibited that prevented worse from happening. Lastly, we want to thank the broader community for their outpouring of concern and support in this time.

    In Him,

    The View from Here

Today’s featured image is of Lake George, taken from behind Ft. William Henry, in the village of Lake George NY.

It seems, at least according to the Media, the feds are snatching peaceful protesters right off the streets of Portland. Stormtroopers are what Nancy Pelosi is calling them. From what I can find, the arrests being made by the feds there are not just random. It seems that they have a list of people, many of whom are facing charges for previous unrest. Shipwreckedcrew, a writer for RedState and a former federal prosecutor, posits the feds involved are DEA based on the actions and dress. I’d tend to agree, as an FBI agent looks like an FBI agent. DEA agents don’t look like feds, at least in my limited experience.

The WHO hired a PR firm to help with that agency’s image. For a mere $135,000, the firm Hill + Knowlton Strategies engaged with social media influencers to spread the WHO’s message.

    The firm’s influencer focus included:

    • Macro Influencers -those with large followings (1M+) such as celebrities for greater amplification of WHO messaging
    • Micro Influencers -those with smaller but highly engaged followings who function as trusted advisors and informed validators
    • Hidden Heroes -those without significant followings but who nevertheless shape and guide conversations, such as health experts appearing frequently on news programs
    • The scientific, medical and health community -to ensure they believe and advocate the advice given
    • Media -to ensure that articles are balanced in a time of concern verging on panic and uncertainty
    • NGOs -to ensure peer groups and local grassroots organizations endorse the role of WHO and its advice
    • The informed public -those that read everything and use their own channels and networks to validate or invalidate claims

And they wonder why nobody trusts them.

I was always a fan of the Round Mound of Rebound. Charles Barkley’s latest comments haven’t done anything to change my opinion.

A Fordham student says he’s been disciplined for taking a photo with a firearm. Andrew Tong ran afoul of the university’s regulations “relating to bias/and or hate crimes” as well as the school’s policy against “threats/intimidation” with two social media posts. What exactly did he post? A picture of murdered retired St. Louis police captain David Dorn with a caption of “Y’all a bunch of hypocrites.” In the second post, Tong posed with a rifle, captioning the picture “Don’t tread on me #198964” with emojis of the U.S. and Chinese flags.

    https://www.instagram.com/p/CBB08GDlFNX/?utm_source=ig_embed

Tong says the second post was a reference to Tiananmen square massacre.

As part of his disciplinary probation, which will remain in effect until he graduates, Tong is banned from representing the university in any extracurricular activities or running for or holding leadership roles in student organizations. Tong can no longer enter the university campus without the dean’s permission, and he has to finish the remainder of the school year through remote learning. In what Tong described as a “Soviet nightmare,” the university is also demanding him to complete “implicit bias” training with the Office of Multicultural Affairs and write an apology letter.

Iran suffered another mysterious explosion today. An oil pipeline exploded in Ahwaz in the western Khuzestan Province in Iran, according to Iranian media. No official report has confirmed that the oil pipeline was the source of the explosion as of yet. This is the latest in a series of unexplained fires and explosions in the Islamic Republic. There are reports they the Iranian air defense systems are on high alert. The European civil aviation authority has issued a warning to all carriers about overflying Iranian airspace.

Lilith Sinclair could barely contain her excitement at the cheers when she announced herself as an “Afro indigenous non-binary” protest organizer on Friday.

massive applause after saying that their mission is the “abolition of the United States as we know it”

Following her speech, rioters violently attempted to barricade federal officers inside the Portland Federal Courthouse and Justice Center while launching explosives at the building. They also allegedly tied a man to a fence and beat him and held a street preacher at gun point before brutalizing him and physically removing him from their protest, according to a witness at the scene who spoke to livestreamers.

Liberals and some of the more media-focused organizers have repeatedly claimed that the Black Lives Matter riots’ goal is simply to end police brutality, while most of us knew that wasn’t these Marxists only agenda.
