    Cat Sh*t One

This video showed up in my YouTube feed a couple of weeks ago. I liked it so much, I changed my avatar to one of the characters, Packy.

    From IMDB:

Botasky and Packy are private contractors, working in the Middle East, with support from a distant helicopter-mobile base. Their jobs are as “sniper” and “spotter”, the spotter is the team lead (as is accurate military protocol). Their assignment is to extract two captives, an ally, and a local. The characters are 1. Rabbits (contractors), and 2. Camels (locals). Rabbits seem to have been chosen due to the Japanese word for Rabbit is Usagi, which can be interpreted to be U.S.A. GI. The Team must interpret the situation, and decide whether to extract the victims themselves or wait for further support. Things seem to be moving rapidly in a negative direction, so the Team elects to split up, and do the extraction themselves. They split up, with Packy going into a village to locate and pull the victims out, and Botasky providing over-watch and sniping support. The fighting is rapid, and smooth, with Packy showing a great deal of speed and agility. The sniping is rapid and smooth. Packy’s weapon transfers are perfect. His shooting is controlled and precise, no wasted spray and pray mag dumps. The enemy gets ground support, which complicates things, Botasky is located and shut down as a sniper, and the rescue seems to be compromised, until the Team gets it’s own Air Support.

Where I live is in the middle of Mother Nature’s playground

    meh

it’s where I fit in best

my bloodline is not as old as the rocks I stand on but damn close so that’s close enough

while looking at this Statue of Hiawatha & and his Woman

    think in these terms

    the Song of Solomon

Behold, you are beautiful, my love,
    behold, you are beautiful!
    Your eyes are doves
    behind your veil.
Your hair is like a flock of goats
leaping down the slopes of Gilead.
Your teeth are like a flock of shorn ewes
that have come up from the washing,
    all of which bear twins,
and not one among them has lost its young.
Your lips are like a scarlet thread,
    and your mouth is lovely.
Your cheeks are like halves of a pomegranate
    behind your veil.
Your neck is like the tower of David,
    built in rows of stone;a
on it hang a thousand shields,
all of them shields of warriors.
Your two breasts are like two fawns,
    twins of a gazelle,
    that graze among the lilies.
    Until the day breathes
    and the shadows flee,
I will go away to the mountain of myrrh
    and the hill of frankincense.
    You are altogether beautiful, my love;
there is no flaw in you.
    Come with me from Lebanon, my bride;
    come with me from Lebanon.
Departb from the peak of Amana,
from the peak of Senir and Hermon,
    from the dens of lions,
    from the mountains of leopards.

    You have captivated my heart, my sister, my bride;
you have captivated my heart with one glance of your eyes,
with one jewel of your necklace.
How beautiful is your love, my sister, my bride!
How much better is your love than wine,
and the fragrance of your oils than any spice!
    Your lips drip nectar, my bride;
    honey and milk are under your tongue;
the fragrance of your garments is like the fragrance of Lebanon.
A garden locked is my sister, my bride,
a spring locked, a fountain sealed.
Your shoots are an orchard of pomegranates
    with all choicest fruits,
    henna with nard,
nard and saffron, calamus and cinnamon,
    with all trees of frankincense,
    myrrh and aloes,
    with all choice spices—
a garden fountain, a well of living water,
    and flowing streams from Lebanon.

    Awake, O north wind,
    and come, O south wind!
    Blow upon my garden,
    let its spices flow.

Now granted, giving a Woman a rock for her would no doubt cause her to get those little flakes of sparklies in her irises

unless you bring her where Dragon eggs are found, not diamonds

    Dragon Egg

Never heard of of them eh?

Not surprised for they are only found in my neck of the woods

  • What took place at the Iranian Natanz nuclear facility?

What took place at the Iranian Natanz nuclear facility?

The incident is the third mysterious explosion in a week and has led to many questions.

By SETH J. FRANTZMAN  | Jerusalem Post

The plot thickened on Thursday afternoon hours after a building at a nuclear facility looked to have blown up in Iran. Reports of a “explosive device planted,” and an early warning, as well as a dissident group taking responsibility now adds to questions and concerns about what happened at the sensitive site. The building affected by some kind of an explosion is located at the Natanz nuclear enrichment facility. Iran had alerted the world to the incident in the morning of July 2 and even took state media for a tour to show that while there had been some kind of incident, the nuclear facility was not in danger. It is the third mysterious explosion in a week and has led to many questions. The New York Times reported that “a Middle Eastern intelligence official…said the blast was caused by an explosive device planted inside the facility. The explosion, he said, destroyed much of the above ground parts of the facility.”This is important because it was allegedly the above ground portion of a larger area where new centrifuges are “balanced before they are put into operations.” Iran is known for building underground facilities that obscure or protect their activities, including at missile and nuclear sites. It now looks increasingly likely the incident was deliberate, an attack of act of sabotage. Adding to the question of how this happened, a group called the “Homeland Panthers” claimed responsibility, according to emails allegedly sent to BBC Persian. The emails arrived “hours before any news of the incident had emerged,” according to Radio Farda. The emails however claimed something more complex. They asserted there was an attack and then a cover up. They wanted to blow the lid on the cover up.When did the attack happen?Around two in the morning on July 2. It was not widely reported in Iranian media until some eight hours later. IRIB News gave a tour of the area that was burned in the afternoon. The Associated Press noted that the US National Oceanographic and Atmospheric Administration has data from a satellite tracking fires that shows a fire at around 2 a.m. This corresponds with someone on the ground who allegedly heard an explosion.

    https://twitter.com/JasonMBrodsky/status/1278711235614310403

The Associated Press report quotes Fabian Hinz of the James Martin Center for Nonproliferation Studies as noting the fire took place at a new centrifuge production facility. David Albright of the Institute for Science and International Security agreed that the fire was at a new production facility. This would be a set back for Iran’s production. Hinz said it could delay the advancement of centrifuge technology.Iran may be hinting at threats to Israel now.An analysis piece at IRNA news said the “Zionist regime and the US” were crossing red lines. Natanz has been struck in the past. In 2010 workers found that high-speed centrifuges had been sabotaged by the Stuxnet computer worm. In November 2019 as Iran began to walk away from the Iran nuclear deal in response to the US also leaving the deal, the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran said it had doubled the number of advanced centrifuges at the site. Iran had previously agreed to install only 5,060 of the lesser efficient centrifuges it had at Natanz until 2026. An inspector of the site was also denied entry the same month. This means it was widely known last year that Iran was progressing with enrichment at Natanz. According to reports at the end of last year it had unveiled 30 IR-6 centrifuges and there were 60 of these spinning at Natanz at the time.

    Managing Editors Note:

The incident at Natanz comes a week after an explosion at or near another suspected nuclear site, Parchin, just east of Tehran and a day after an explosion in a hospital in Tehran.

Who the “Homeland Panthers” are is unclear, as the MEK, who are the Kurdish resistance to the ayatollahs, denied any responsibility for the explosion at Natanz. Official Iranian state media are pointing to Israel as the culprit.

  • Study ties hydroxychloroquine use to lower COVID-19 death rate

Study ties hydroxychloroquine use to lower COVID-19 death rate

BY MARTY JOHNSON – 07/03/20 02:47 PM EDT

A study released Thursday links the use of hydroxychloroquine by COVID-19 patients to lower death rates, as health experts around the country try to find an effective treatment to combat the pandemic.

The study, conducted by Michigan’s Henry Ford Health System, states that hydroxychloroquine, the controversial anti-malarial drug heralded by the White House as a potential treatment for the coronavirus, “significantly” lowered the mortality rate among COVID-19 patients.

In patients who received the drug, the death rate was 13 percent as compared to a death rate of 26.4 percent in patients who weren’t administered the treatment.

“The findings have been highly analyzed and peer-reviewed,” Marcus Zervos, co-author of the study and division head of Infectious Disease for Henry Ford Health System, said in a statement. “We attribute our findings that differ from other studies to early treatment, and part of a combination of interventions that were done in supportive care of patients, including careful cardiac monitoring. Our dosing also differed from other studies not showing a benefit of the drug.”

However, several weeks ago the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) yanked hydroxychloroquine’s emergency use authorization, citing data from a large randomized controlled trial that showed no difference between using hydroxychloroquine and standard COVID-19 treatment.

Doctors have also warned that the drug, mainly used to combat malaria and lupus, could cause fatal cardiac problems.

Earlier this week, the Medicines and Healthcare Products Regulatory Agency said that its global trials of hydroxychloroquine and chloroquine, another anti-malarial drug, would resume Friday.

    Rogue Unicorn’s take…….

I have been behind this treatment option from the start. With careful cardiac monitoring, and dosing according to this study’s parameters, the benefits appear to clearly outweigh the risks.

What do YOU think. If you or a loved one were to contract Covid-19 would you want this treatment employed?

Gun sales increased 80.2% in May compared to last year

FoxBusiness.com: Gun sales break May record amid coronavirus pandemic, riots

Gun background checks hit record high in June, a sign of booming sales, FBI reveals

The record numbers come at a time when the U.S. is gripped in a pandemic, an economic downturn and a racial reckoning over police brutality that has erupted at times into civil unrest

FoxNews.com: Gun background checks hit record high in June, a sign of booming sales, FBI reveals

Firearm-related background checks reached 3.9 million in June, the most since the tracking system was created more than two decades ago amid multiple crises in the coronavirus pandemic, an economic downfall and protests over police brutality and racial injustice.

The lastest numbers are the most since the FBI began tracking such checks in 1998.

“More than 19 million checks — a key barometer for gun sales — were conducted in the first half of 2020, more than all of 2012 and many years prior. Gun sales usually see an uptick in presidential election years over fears an incoming president could restrict access to firearms.”

    ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Two things will come from this, the argument over high capacity magazines is over for now. People have seen the news videos of multiple attackers confronting citizens and are rightfully alarmed. This is not about defending yourself from burglars or home invaders. People are alarmed that the mob may actually bring the riots and looting into the suburbs. According to FBI stats, 8.3 million guns have been purchased in the last 3 months. Those people will be voters and they are not going to let politicians strip them of their right to self defense.

The Giffords Center and the Brady Bunch have been crying over this for a couple of months, claiming people don’t have the training, don’t know the laws etc. Nobody cares what they think anymore, when they are worried about defending the homes and families.

My local gun store has been going non stop for weeks, they have just about stripped the shelves of any handguns and the AR15’s have been gone for a couple of weeks. Handgun and AR ammo has completely disappeared, this should be a warning, it’s isn’t the usual ammo shortages during the Obama era. It’s going to be months before the supply chain is replenished, probably September according to my sources.

If you lose the soccer mom’s it’s over, all the feel good liberal policies go out the window when their children are threatened.

  • Prepper’s Corner: the rule of threes

Prepper’s Corner: the rule of threes

Welcome to the first edition of the Prepper’s Corner, where we’ll discuss the art of the prep. We’ll cover everything from getting started to advanced prepping.

Let’s start with the basics. And it doesn’t get more basic than the rule of three.

The Rule of Three helps you to remember the most important and prioritize the most urgent needs that you may have when in a survival situation.

    1. Three minutes without air or in icy water.
    2. Three hours without shelter in a harsh environment.
    3. Three days without water if you have shelter.
    4. Three weeks without food if you have shelter and water.

The first of the three is pretty self explanatory. If you can’t breathe, you’ve got about 3 minutes to live. An unprotected person will fall victim to hypothermia in short order in cold water.

The second rule can be interpreted in a couple of ways. Shelter doesn’t always mean a roof. In some instances, a fire or other source of heat will serve you better than a house. Conversely, there are times when a simple sun shade will be the choice. Regardless of the situation shelter from the elements is the primary concern in a survival situation.

Next up is water. The human body is around 60% water. A source of potable water is a must. Finding and purifying water is going to be your next mission after you find or build your shelter.

Food is the least of your concerns. The human body can last a relatively long time without food. That said, insufficient caloric intake can drastically reduce the amount of physical activity you can perform before tiring.

Got any tips about how to secure any of the items in the rule of three?

Been in a situation where you were in need of the three?

Have a suggestion for future editions of the Prepper’s Corner?

  • How to build your own truck gun vault

How to build your own truck gun vault

If you travel with guns, sooner or later you think about a gun vault. The ones above are some good examples. Most full and mid size SUVs will take a 48″ wide box behind the second row seats. I have built a couple of these for Expeditions, Suburbans and a few other mid size SUVs. Done correctly, it’s practically invisible from the outside and covers the state laws about transporting firearms inside a truck or SUV.

Commercial vaults can run $1200 or more. If you are the least bit handy, you can make your own. I built this one for a trip to San Antonio. Gun theft is rampant there as it’s the home of the Skeet and Sporting Clays associations and they have a couple of 5 day tournaments there. It’s well publicized and the criminals know there are hundreds of high end shotguns on the grounds. Restaurant and hotel parking lots are also hit often.  The construction is pretty simple; it’s a box with a door. I built mine in an afternoon. Understand that truck and SUV vaults are not theft proof; the goal is to make it not worth the time or exposure to do it. My current vault is built out of two sheets of 1/2″ 4×4′ cabinet grade plywood, 3 1×6″ pine boards, and a 1×6″ oak board for the door. It’s screwed together with #8 2″ deck screws. Trust me, hinge the door from the bottom. The locks on the first run were simple cabinet locks, but once they were installed I didn’t like them that much, so the third photo shows the boat hatch locks I replaced them with later.

I finished the top of mine with a piece of a truck bed liner. If you are doing this in a pickup truck it’s a must if you really want a waterproof box. Be advised it’s recommended to use treated plywood if you are building one for a pickup bed without a topper. I generally transport my guns in hard cases so I didn’t want drawers; I just needed a place to get them out of sight. It’s basically a second story for an SUV deck.

Some of my friends have built everything from mild to wild – with slide out tables, or workbenches from the bottom, or full length drawers on teflon sliders. I can get either 2 guns in hard cases, or 4 guns in soft cases, plus 3 cases of shotgun shells in mine.

An Original Poem by Dork Anubis

With my hand on my heart

    I stand strong and proud

    We, the patriots gather

I am but one in the crowd

    The Star Spangled Banner

    Rings joyful in my ears

    Its message is powerful

And its meaning is very clear

    To we who have served

    As to our fathers before

    Vigilantly in times of peace

And through the hells of war

    Where we are needed

    We are here and abroad

    Go off to thickest jungle

    One Nation under God

We will not stand idle, nor

    Go quietly into the night

    All will soon be clear
