    From General Flynn

This is posted, as written, with no commentary.

    Exclusive from Gen. Flynn:

    Stand with Me,

    Renounce the Left

and Hold the Line on Nov. 3

    Michael Flynn

We are a nation founded by leaders who fought tyranny and oppression to ensure that all American citizens be treated fairly and equally across this land.

These constitutional and God-given rights should never be denied, stolen or silenced by false prosecutions or political persecutions driven by fear, hatred or animosity. Those who scowl at the very core of our republic and act from vengeance or revenge against one of us threaten the safety and security of all of us.

Never should our nation, our president or any family or individual be so viciously targeted, maligned, smeared and threatened as we have all felt for the past four years and counting. This unconscionable and seditious direct attack by ideologically driven elitists strikes at the will of the American people who ensure our very freedoms through their vote and daily selfless actions.

We cannot allow the opposing leftist agenda to continue enabling the fleecing of America, peddling connected-influence for cash, exploiting American innovation for an elitist self-serving purpose, wielding official power and influence as a means to ensure personal gain while exercising mass control and selling out our American ideals for ideologies to pursue what the leftists would like as “common and normal.”

These all diminish the power and purpose inherent in “we the people” who constitute our republic.

I ask that you stand with me today in renouncing this betrayal of trust that has burdened our nation and breached the foundation of our American ideals.

Let us proclaim with one united voice across this land that we will hold the line and never allow the rightful power of the citizens of the United States of America to be uprooted, undercut, usurped or held hostage by a coup against our nation, a duly elected president, or any future president of these United States.

I want you to think about this statement for one moment — it is inconceivable that America would ever experience a coup, but that is precisely what has been happening.

The events of these past four years are testing the will of our nation. We fight not for a government, a political party, an oligarchy, a king or royal family, an ideology or a central committee — or to protect material possessions.

As Americans, we fight for our own freedoms — for precious ideals built on a foundation of God-given rights that ensure our way of life and all around us; these are what we must be prepared to defend with our very lives.

Our core American ideals and values codified by our Founding Fathers in the Declaration of Independence and by the framers of our Constitution have stood the test of time only with our support. It requires that we judiciously exercise our right to vote into office accountable officials as well as our responsibility to question and hold those elected, appointed and unelected officials to account.

Together, all of America continues to overcome this enormous hurdle. While we may falter from time to time, we will not fail. When we do falter, we must help each other get back on our feet, dust ourselves off and face head-on whatever lies ahead.

In the breach, we continue to be relentlessly tested with false accusations, untruths and hatred for our beliefs and for raising our voices, but we cannot be deterred, and our bonds of liberty must not break.

On the strength of one link in the cable depends the might of the chain. Let the strength of your family be the first link; add to it your neighbors, your community and your friends. We are all one nation under God and one people: Americans.

To all Americans, what we choose to do in this life should not be stopped by fear, an emotion manifested by illusion. Never allow fear into your heart or allow it to trick you.

Instead, embrace uncertainty as a driving force for discovery and understanding; accept the risk that comes with daily sacrifice; work to overcome the sheer magnitude of life’s challenges, especially during this crucible of our nation’s history.

Our very survival as the nation we were conceived to be — a constitutional republic — is at stake.

Yes, America, we are under attack and on trial. The leftists question our greatness, our potential and the very rights all Americans enjoy. And, while we face what appear to be insurmountable odds, patriots united will win because we are the keepers of that shining city on the hill, and we will not be deterred from accomplishing our mission and performing our duty.

Despite the extraordinary challenges faced, American patriots always “rise up” to defend our faith, our families, our homes, our honor and our nation. Today, perhaps more than ever before, America requires tried, true and tested patriots to lead the way and ensure the future of our children and grandchildren.

As soon as the American majority rises up in one voice to hold evil to account, that is when evil will take the easy way out and implement its escape plan. Evil will drown in a sea of accountability.

When our rule of law is seriously threatened, when our thin blue line is under grave assault, when our churches and synagogues are endangered, when socialism is pounding our gates down, we must stand firm in the breach and hold all bad actors to account.

Even framer Benjamin Franklin, departing the Constitutional Convention in 1787, when asked if we were a monarchy or a republic, he stated, “A republic, if you can keep it.”

Patriots, let’s keep it! Send a clear, loud and strong message to the world with our votes on Nov. 3 that we choose freedom. Vote in person, and vote for President Donald J. Trump and every Republican on the ballot. Never has your vote been more important.

As we face Election Day in this time of trial, always remember that in the end, there is only one who is the ultimate judge of our American destiny. America must forever remain “one nation under God.”

    God bless America!

  • I Blame Joe Biden’s Shotgun Advice

I Blame Joe Biden’s Shotgun Advice

This past Saturday, October 17, 2020, I got wind of a story about a kooky shooting in Kingsville, Maryland; a sleepy quasi-rural community in Baltimore County, currently home for some 4400 people. Delightful, not quite the country communities like Kingsville were created by good ole boys, farmers and grand old families on properties outside city suburbs. Today, an aging local populace works its way through the first pangs of urban sprawl as modern subdivisions slowly begin to replace spaces once filled with tilled fields and pasture lands. People with multi-generational roots in Kingsville are friendly Americans, welcoming their new neighbors to the community.

Enter, Douglas Edward Kuhn – an IT professional employed by a firm in New Mexico, and one of those newer Kingsville residents. Last April, 50 year old Kuhn paid $675,000 for an absolutely lovely piece of real estate. The parcel of well tended land measures just under 15 acres and features a stunning, fully updated Colonial house, built circa 1915. Locals in Kingsville breathed a heavy sigh of relief when the Cedar Lane property was purchased with its Agricultural Use designation intact. There were no signs the lovely single home estate would be turned into blocks of houses for 30+ families. Unfortunately, the change in ownership still shattered the peace in this off-the-beaten-trail community.

Shortly before 2:30 pm on Saturday, police responded to a disturbance call near Cedar Lane and Mt. Vista Road in Kingsville. A homeowner had been posting a political sign on his property when the driver of a pickup truck carrying signs for the opposing party’s candidate honked the horn while motoring past. Apparently, the homeowner felt an equal and appropriate response to the driver’s horn abuse was to grab a shotgun and blast it the truck’s direction. Neither truck nor occupants were injured, thankfully. Truck driver pulled off a safe distance up the road and called the police. Short Sighted Shotty McGee was arrested without incident.

Did Joe Biden’s advice to fire a shotgun in the air as a way to warn people off take root good and tight in Kuhn’s sh*t simple lil heart? He ought not feel badly if inspiration to chase a truck down the street and shoot a round over its head came from the Phantom of the Election’s poor advice. Kuhn wouldn’t be the first witless wonder outside of Joe’s immediate family victimised by Biden Misdirection.

It didn’t take much effort to determine the address where this occurred and the shooters identity – Douglas Edward Kuhn, the new kid on the block. It did seem as though I’d have to visit Kingsville if I wished to learn what political party messaging Kuhn has determined renders a person deserved of a rootin’ tootin’ shootin’. Pondering the conspicuous absence of that data in official reports, the newness of Mr. Kuhn to the neighborhood and his irrational behaviour, I indulged myself with a comfy presumption that the truck was probably heavy with Trump signage – and the shooter inflicted with a bad case of TDS. Gosh, turned out that was a good guess.

Kuhn’s victims have been identified as Neal Houk, driver of the horny truck, and Neal’s son Bradley Lang, former Vice President of the Towson College Republicans.

It’s Kingsville, it’s a friendly area. Everyone honks at each other. We think we were hoping there could be some civility between people who support different candidates,” Lang told WBALTV.

He picked up a shotgun from near his feet and ran towards us aiming it and we got 100, 200 feet down the road, he began to fire,” Lang continues. “We were scared, although we were happy that he missed, the truck was missed and we were alright.”

Houk shared an accounting of the bizarre event with Channel 2.

I came down Cedar and turned down here and blew the horn. There was a gentleman in the field putting up a banner and I blew the horn and he had a shotgun right there and he reached down, picked it up, pointed it, said Houk.My son was in the passenger seat. We looked straight down the barrel and we looked in disbelief and then right then he fired the shotgun.

I would never think — especially in Kingsville — that anyone would be violent about this situation. We all play nice here. It is America,” Houk told WBALTV.

Douglas Kuhn allegedly told police he had a shovel, not a shotgun. Witness testimony cleanly refuted that claim. Police charged Kuhn with two counts each of first-degree and second-degree assault, felony use of a firearm, reckless endangerment and other charges. He was denied a bail hearing until Monday morning. At the hearing, Baltimore County State’s Attorney Scott Schellenberger gave the nod to Kuhn’s being released on bail after home detention had been arranged, Kuhn was released from custody Monday night. He’ll be staying at home until his next court date. The presiding judge, Baltimore County District Court Judge Philip Tirabassi, was reportedly, “furious over the current political climate, saying he was aghast that life has gotten to this stage.”

How did it get to the point where he pulls out a shotgun? What has the world come to? This is beyond belief. Free speech. Why resort to weaponry. This could have been horrible,” Judge Tirabassi fumed from the bench.

Saturday’s shotgun discharge moment is not the first instance of trouble with Kuhn’s political displays. FOX45 News interviewed some neighbors of the trigger happy Biden devotee, including a gentleman named David Franz who has lived in Kingsville for 35 years. Franz said Kuhn’s signs and flags for Biden-Harris and BLM tend to disappear a few days after they appear.

The ‘Black Lives Matter’ sign was down and one of the Biden signs was down — they’re flags that were torn down, said Franz.

Well now. It becomes a bit more clear why Kuhn was so irked. Where my headspace exists, (which is outside of what is legal in the state of Maryland,) a man catching trespassers destroying his personal property has the right to shoot a trespassing vandal. There is no justification in shooting at a passing motorist who has done no harm, however. Why the hell did Kuhn even have a shotgun with him? Does he really take his property and/or politics so seriously? Something is missing. More than just the man’s sense.

A quick look through publicly available records produces the Deed to the property on Cedar Lane. Douglas Kuhn co-owns the home with another gentleman, William E. Narrow. Kuhn and Narrow appear on the Deed as ‘tenants by the entireties’, Owner/Occupants. Both are also equally responsible to pay the $573,750.00 debt recorded on a Deed of Trust secured by the property. That’s a helluva mortgage for land zoned Agricultural, useless to home developers. Perhaps Maryland’s recent laws on cannabis use sparked the idea of starting a farm. Just musing. Also, in the Lutheran Volunteer Corp (LVC) Annual Report, FY 2010-2011, “William Narrow and Doug Kuhn” appears, like that, in a list of people recognised as generous donors of $5000 or more. Perhaps theirs is a simple business arrangement. Perhaps, more.

Douglas Kuhn’s choices to festoon his property with markers of politics and social policy not embraced by the people he has opted to live amongst, and actually firing a shotgun at his fellow citizens, suggest he is an intolerant control freak who is regularly inconsiderate of others. His would not be a novel impetus if the decision to move to a traditionally conservative neighborhood was impelled by a desire to “influence” people he considers some kind of backwards hick. He has the right to his opinion and free speech, just like all U.S. citizens. So long as his efforts do not impede another’s path to their pursuit of happiness. Overkill is an impediment, a distraction, an unnecessary whap upside the head. As of Monday evening there are three, full size Biden flags (two, pictured above) on Kuhn’s property. At least. That’s at least two too many if ya want to be neighborly.

OK – fair and balanced criticism moment. It’s not just people to the Left who seem unable to curb their yen to vomit bodacious amounts of political messaging. Some Trump supporters have brought tacky campaigning overkill to the party, as well. See, Neal Houk’s truck, long may it roll and wave:

Yes and again, depending on any housing codes relevant to his home on Cedar Lane, Douglas Kuhn is free to fly fifty Biden flags if it makes him feel happy. Such overkill, however, will invite a negative response. One wonders if a single flag would ever have been removed from it’s assigned place if only a single flag had ever been displayed.

The insistent abundance factor makes this homeowners political messaging smell like a disrespectful, purposeful tweaking of nerves. Let me qualify such a castigating personal values assumption. Doug Kuhn lives on a local traffic kind of thoroughfare. The only people who see his banners are community members going back and forth to work, school, church, shopping, etc. He’s doing this for them. Rather, for himself and to them.

red star marks Kuhn/Narrow property in Kingsville MD

It would be nice if we could be more respectful of the old when we decide to make it our new. Moving into established communities means moving into established mindsets and preferences. A certain level of assimilation is expected when one plants new roots. Attempting to push a personal agenda down the throats of the uninterested will not yield positive results. These are human nature truisms most of us figure out by the time we reach the age of majority – Kuhn somehow missed those life lessons back when they don’t hurt so much to learn.

Conversely, hands off the property of disrespectful people who do not participate in the niceties that keep society peaceful. It is not acceptable for Trump supporters to trespass on private property or destroy other peoples political messaging devices. Period. Besides being unlawful and not nice, it is easy enough to drive ’em nuts with your own signs and a truck horn, apparently.

It seems relevant to note that while Kuhn’s flags were tampered with, his house was not set afire. Yet, he seems to have found the decision to risk human life and property a quick and easy choice to make. There are clear patterns of personal conduct regularly displayed by US of Americans versus the citizen seeking to turn an exceptional nation into a typical failure. Even if it should turn out that Kuhn has been the target of much hate and feels as though he is in danger, chasing a vehicle as it drives away so you can blast at it with a shotgun is considered wildly inappropriate – by sane people.

This ‘Merican wonders if liberal legislators writing Red Flag laws haven’t been motivated to do so by the Douglas Kuhns in their own family trees.

I thought I’d posted this last night, Tuesday. Think I took it down to edit because it’s long, and yet, did not do any editing. Sorry for the ramble.

    Supreme Court Justices Slam Google….

Supreme Court Justices Slam Google in Copyright Case That Could Break Up Their Tech Monopoly

A key lawsuit that is currently playing out in the courts, Google v. Oracle, has the potential to break Google’s unethical corporate monopoly over the tech industry without major federal action.

Google has been accused of stealing over 11,000 lines of another firm’s code in order to develop its popular and lucrative Android operating system. Before Android, Google was not even in the top 100 American companies pertaining to revenue in 2010. After Android, Google is just outside of the top 10 American companies in terms of revenue today.

Google is accused of exploiting Java SE software that was programmed by Sun Microsystems in order to make their obscene profits. Sun agreed to grant a three-year license to Google for a total of $100 million, but Google did not want to pay the price to use their software. They allegedly decided to just steal it instead, arguing that it was not copyrightable. This is largely the basis of the lawsuit.

The case has made its way all the way up to the Supreme Court, and the various justices do not seem to be impressed with Google’s legal arguments as to why their alleged theft of the code was justified and proper.

“I’m concerned that, under your argument, all computer code is at risk of losing protection,” Justice Alito said.

“Others have managed to innovate their way around it,” Justice Gorsuch said, adding that Apple and Microsoft have “been able to come up with phones that work just fine without engaging in this kind of copying [of Java].”

“You’re not allowed to copy a song just because it’s the only way to express that song. Why is that principle not at play here?” Justice Kavanaugh asked.

“Cracking the safe may be the only way to get the money that you want, but that doesn’t mean you can do it. I mean, if it’s the only way, the way for you to get it is to get a license,” Chief Justice Roberts said.

Former legislative leaders who worked on copyright law for decades have rejected Google’s flimsy arguments as well.

“Google argues that the computer coding it copied is not entitled to the protections of the Copyright Act. However, in my capacity as the chairman of the House Judiciary Committee, chairman of the Subcommittee on Intellectual Property, Competition and the Internet, and co-chairman of the Congressional Internet Caucus, I spearheaded the first comprehensive review of copyright law since the 1970s and oversaw numerous updates. On day one, it became evident that the Copyright Act clearly extends copyright protection to all “original works of authorship,” said former House Judiciary Chairman Bob Goodlatte.

“I was serving in the Senate when Congress adopted CONTU’s recommendations by passing the Computer Software Copyright Act of 1980. At the time, Congress did not carve out any subset of software from copyright protection. Indeed, CONTU actively considered whether some subset of computer programs should be carved out as uncopyrightable, and decided the answer was no,” former Senate Judiciary Chairman Orrin Hatch said.

Additionally, the Department of Justice under the Obama administration as well as the Trump administration have submitted friend-of-the-court briefs against Google. It is looking like the tech giant may end up losing this consequential lawsuit, which may cut Google down to size without substantial federal action.

Comment: Is this really the first time corporations, have had their proprietary code stolen; given the Google executives entitled nature of stealing – surely, I am not the only one who sees this as Anti-American?
Competition is a healthy aspect of business; however, this has a very dictatorial and predatory position being taken by Google. Standards & rules of law & conduct seem to have lost so much of their meaning and spiraled downwards, subsequent to China’s invite to the WTO in 2001.

Then, a stronger system moves in this weekend. Snow will initially develop in the central and west Saturday afternoon and with warmer air it all transitions to all rain. Once this system moves north winds will become strong leading to blustery conditions. By Sunday with colder air, we start off with snow showers.

Today: Windy morning with light scattered showers through the day

    ⦁ Highs: Upper 30s to mid-40s east

Friday: Morning light snow showers in the west. Then, becoming rain/snow mix and mainly scattered rain showers in the east

⦁ Highs: Around 40° west, low 40s east

“The Most Significant Reports of the Pacific War” American naval intelligence was greatly relieved to receive Darter’s reports. Intelligence knew that Kurita’s fleet had sailed from its base at Lingga Roads, a little over 100 miles south of Singapore off the east coast of Sumatra, but had no idea of its whereabouts. American forces could not afford to have an enemy fleet of that size at large and undetected. One reason that Kurita decided to bring his task group north of Palawan and through San Bernardino Strait was to keep beyond the range of enemy reconnaissance aircraft for as long as possible. Naval historian Samuel Eliot Morison said that Darter’s radio messages proved to be

“the most significant reports of the Pacific war.”

  • They will hiss and…

    They will hiss and…

They will hiss and scratch and claw at her like possessed feral cats.

Who is the “They” in the title?

The femanazis is the “They”. Amy Coney Barrett is an anathema to them.

By all they hold sacred, she should be their poster child. ACB has achieved all their aims for a feminist. The problem is she did not accomplish these achievements using their agenda.

Where, in their pea brains, did she go astray? Let us count the ways.

Her first mistake is her marital status.  She is supposed to either be divorced or single or living with her “partner.”

Next is her failure to hate the “patriarchy” and believe men are full of toxicity.

When it comes to children, she has exceeded the prescribed number of one or two. The mere thought she failed to have an abortion is unacceptable.

Her failure to loudly praise Planned Parenthood, to all who will listen,  is verboten.

Her adherence to the tenants of her faith is unacceptable. She is to follow only those that are in accordance with public political correctness.

ACB is not supposed to be successful or prosperous while living by the moral “constraints” and “oppression” of the despised “traditional” norms. Those are norms  that femanazis have worked tirelessly to eliminate. She was not supposed to accomplish any measure of greatness without adhering to the modern feminist creed. It is distressing, to them, that she is not backwards, awkward, unattractive, rather helpless, and stupid.

Beyond everything else, the feminazis will hate Amy Coney Barrett because she has not joined them in their blood pact. ACB does not despise her own femininity, did not war against her own fertility, and does not believe she must be able to kill her own child in order to be free and equal to men.

They may hiss, scratch, claw, howl and just generally act like toddlers who need a nap; however, Amy Coney Barrett is a woman deserving great respect for living to her own standards and an appointment to the SCOTUS!

  • American Left Declares Donald Trump Debate Winner

American Left Declares Donald Trump Debate Winner

Take away their Driver’s Licenses and right to vote, now. It’s not safe for society to have people too stupid to understand their own words operating motor vehicles and driving national policy. Mouthy Leftists, I mean, the usual Leftist mouthpieces are wailing ensemble about Tuesday night’s debate debacle. It’s kinda delightful, actually. Angry voices whinge forth!

Rabid anti-Trump types are unwittingly (we’ve more than death and taxes to count on) handing Donald Trump the victor’s podium. Fervently spreading the news about how their candidate was so soundly defeated in the first Presidential debate – and barely squeaked out intact – Team Biden ought forfeit the two remaining Presidential debates. No matter what they tell themselves regarding intent, they are saying Biden should concede defeat. Even Joy Behar from The View hath brayed forth her opinion that President Trump is the victor of Tuesday night’s, Set-In-Mah-Ways SeptuagenarianFest:

Joe Biden has nothing to gain from this [further debates]. It’s a fiasco, it gives Trump a platform to lie, to give dog whistles to his base, to sort of instruct them to be violent in this very sort of semi-subtle way.

Sooooo . . . the President you consider boorish, rude and abrasive is capable of subtlety? Huh.

Behar added that “Biden is too much of a gentleman to be talking on the same stage with this neanderthal.” (I’ll just bet she pronounces the ‘h’.)

Momma said not to throw terms like “shut up” toward others, it’s rude and ugly, similar to cussing. Oh, and no name calling either, same reason. Joy Behar has not only handed the debate win to Donald Trump, she also publicly admitted she weren’t raised right. Chortle cackle cough.

Another source of genius insight, Frank Bruni, is averring that Biden was handed a loss by the Prez, as well. Who’s Frank Bruni? He is an Opinion Columnist for the New York Times, nobody important. Following, please find an excerpt from his recent piece of shit titled, ‘For the Sake of Democracy, Cancel the Trump-Biden Debates‘. To which this ‘Merican will rebut, ‘For the Sake of the Republic, Get Sterilised, Sit Down and Shut the F*ck Up‘. (I’ve never claimed to be a gentleman, or, obedient to my mother.)

Bruni says, “they have all the information they need to decide whether they want another four years of Trump. Giving him more time in front of a national television audience isn’t a route to clarity. It’s an expressway to autocracy, because his performance on Tuesday night proved that he will use these showcases to subvert democracy.

Subvert this, Frankie. Why waste intellect on repartee? Expending thought on the thoughtless is an inefficient use of resources.

Oh yes, Pazza Pelosi has weighed in. I’ll give you a moment to get over the astonishment before continuing. She, too, publicly recognises how readily the President is able to spank Joey into admitting all manner of things she’d rather not have her candidate admit. Nancy is ready to confer victory upon Donald Trump via Biden forfeiting the remaining two engagements.

I think it’s one and done,” Pelosi told Bloomberg News.

That phrase was coined by kids who only wanted to ride their college athletic scholarship for a year before signing a contract with the pros. Users, liars and quitters who only think of themselves, short-sightedly, ta boot. Pelosi is one transient ischemic attack away from offering, “everybody has a right to be stupid, but some people abuse the privilege,” when asked about President Trump. That’s a Joseph Stalin quote, by the way.

Not only do we have this odd admission that Donald Trump is better than is Joe Biden coming from all directions Left to enjoy, there is also the spectacle going on down at the Commission on Presidential Debates for our entertainment purposes. Formally, Commission members are pondering making some rule and/or procedure changes so as to avoid the inadvertent filming of, Grumpiest Old Men; Town Hall Turmoil. Informally, they are tossing their hands in the air and waiting for it all to be over. But . . before they, too, concede defeat to the President, I’d like to implement one tiny change, see what happens. Send me.

Should things start getting out of hand, the inner Madea will bust out to restore SIRREOUS order. One sharp whistle and some clapping (maybe jumping up and down if I’m wearing the right bra) to get their attention, followed immediately by something like, “Shut the herl up, right now! If you can’t act right, you need to go. Act a fool again and I’ll bust yo ass back into yo momma’s womb. I don’t care if she dead, dead and buried, dead and burned and sprinkled off the side of a Carnival cruise boat . . . yo going back in. Clear? Yeah I see you laughing, Mr. Moderator Man, yo momma can be found, too, ahite? Tuck y’all selves in . . . I’m watching y’all, all y’all. Got no problems beating the manners into a senior citizen if it’s what’s needed . . . mmmm hmmmm.”

The roomie feels confident that would work. And, I’d do it for free. As a civic duty.

Celebrate Joy 1 – Amazing Grace

Too much. There is far too much tension in the world today. The River of Life is being engineered to toss and turn us around until we are so hopelessly confused and exhausted, we forget we are possessed of the skills and gifts necessary to escape the chaos. There are days this average Jane and maybe some of her fellow Patriots appreciate a reminder of what we actually are, of the spaces in which natural order wishes our hearts and minds to dwell.

American Eagles are not helpless victims of thermal updrafts and other air currents. Intelligent raptors take advantage of lift so they are able to soar above the treetops, creating their own destinies in harmony with what is natural. Intimidating, magnificent creatures – not even gravity can tell them what to do if they are willing to put in the effort. Flap flap . . . airborne . . . joyously free.

SIDENOTE: ‘Bald’ eagle is a misnomer. They are actually wearing white berets. Death from Above, OG. 😉

The 2020 General Election campaign season has been absurd. That’s the long and the short of it. As we get closer and closer to the point of no return, November 3, the absurdity continues to spawn outrageous, inhuman, unnatural behaviours. While I could spend the next month and a half fretting over deceits crafted by cunning Man, this ‘Merican would prefer to spread her wings and fly on back to the centered calm of Balance. To shake off the unnatural dis-ease born of manmade facility in order to face the world with unrestrained vim and vigor. So, a new kind of campaign is being launched – Celebrate Joy. 🙂

Every day until the election results are finalised, I will (try to) share a “feel good” people story to remind myself, and all of us, that humanity holds more beautiful promise than it does hopeless disgust. Nature provides all the balm we could ever need to soothe our besieged minds and souls. Including, human nature.

First up – Paul Harvey Flute Guy

Eau Claire, Wisconsin holds a national treasure, Mr. Paul Smoczyk. As he was wandering through a music shop in South Dakota a few years back, his hand landed on a flute. Picking it up, Mr. Smoczyk began to experiment – gently blowing and fingering the instrument until he was able to play a melody.

“Started to play and [the store employee] was like, ‘Hey if you keep playing and somebody buys one I’ll give you $100 off.’ I kept playing and he said, ‘well nobody is buying but I’ll give you 60% off.’ That’s how I picked it up.

“I’ve never had any music lessons but I can play almost any woodman instrument, clarinet, saxophone, bagpipes. Native American style flute, Irish flute,” he continued. “I’ve pretty much been able to pick it up and play.”

In other words, Paul is self taught and plays by ear . . . a natural gift, discovered and developed, free of “proper” restraint.

One of the things that makes this talented mans story so special is who he is. Father of two, Smoczyk is a former youth pastor and an iron worker. He’s a big, strong, hardworking straight man of faith who happens to be a flautist. And, has chosen to bless us by sharing his gift. He started a YouTube channel after people told him how relaxing it was listening to him play.

“I had uploaded a couple videos and I was like you know whatever, but then I recorded at that 40 story tower that I was working on, I uploaded it to Reddit and it just blew up,” he said. “My niche is finding unique places to play. Abandoned buildings, underneath bridges, construction sites. Wherever I can find that natural acoustic.”

People message him directly and leave comments, thanking Paul for sharing his gift, for calming shredded nerves and lifting people up out of the blues. The reactions have been a surprising blessing for this flute playing iron worker, people love what he does as much as he loves doing it. Paul Smoczyk has found his joy and is spreading it around.

“I think the combination is this sort of big, burly iron worker playing a flute. I get a lot of ribbing from the guys at work but it’s worth it because being able to bring peace to people, and getting those messages, that’s where it’s at. Being able to help, even in a small way is awesome.”

    You’re awesome, Paul.

    Opinion: Debate Observations

Let me start off by saying I thought the debate turned into a shit show after the first five minutes.

In that starting few minutes, I really thought the debate was going to be, not decorus, but at least collegial. It seemed to me that Trump was a little surprised it turned as quickly as it did. That said, he adapted quickly.

Trump was peak Trump last night. He made his points, despite it being 2 to 1 at times, and didn’t allow Joe to skate most of the time.

Joe was lucid, for the most part. A win for his camp. There were a couple of occasions when it looked like he was going off the rails, but either Trump or Wallace bailed him out.

The biggest disappointment of the debate was the performance of the moderator, Chris Wallace. He asked leading questions, feigned ignorance, allowed Joe to not answer questions and interrupted Trump far more than Biden.

The oddest takeaway from last night’s debates comes courtesy of Frank Luntz. Luntz ran one of his realtime focus groups last night. Out of 15 undecided voters in the virtual event, four said they were supporting Joe Biden after the debate and two backed President Donald Trump. The rest remained undecided.

While nothing I saw last night changed my opinion of either candidate, well maybe a little bit about Joe, it did manage to turn this inveterate political junky off a bit.
