I’m gonna be honest, these resolutions play well with the R base, but they are really just another kind of virtue signalling. Everyone involved is goddamned well aware that the DoJ isn’t going to pursue the case against the crackhead 1st son. Don’t believe me? See Holder, Eric.

This morning, pro-hamas protesters blocked access to The Holland Tunnel and the Brooklyn and Manhattan bridges in New York City.

The Port Authority Police Department said protesters blocked the outbound lanes of the Holland Tunnel around 9:30 a.m., resulting in 120 arrests.

The NYPD also responded to both the Brooklyn and Manhattan bridges and took several people into custody.

Video taken near the tunnel showed dozens people sitting down in the roadway, as officers set up metal barriers around them.

Another video showed a similar scene at the Brooklyn Bridge, where about the same number sat in the street there. Video also showed three lanes of traffic at a standstill on the Manhattan Bridge.

Police warned drivers to expect residual delays in the areas around the tunnel and bridges, as well as the Williamsburg Bridge.

Similar traffic blockages took place in LA and Seattle over the weekend.

The source article takes great pains to say pro-‘Palestinian’ protesters. The fact is, they don’t give a fuck about the Pals in general and are actually supporting the Hamas terrorists. The level and virulence of antisemitism I’ve seen lately is shocking. And I don’t know about you, but any protester who keeps me from going where I need or want to go, for any cause, does nothing to sway me to their way of thinking. Honestly, they make themselves my enemy at that point. I’m not saying I’m gonna become this guy, but. . .

The National Park Service is planning on removing a statue of William Penn from in front of Pennsbury Manor. The house and grounds are part of Welcome Park and located a couple of blocks from Independence Hall. Welcome Park is managed by the National Park Service as part of the Independence National Historic Park. Named after the ship William Penn came to the continent on, it is located at the site of Penn’s home. The park exists to celebrate Penn’s life and his many accomplishments.

You knew this was coming. I’ll admit I was agnostic on the removal of Confederate monuments and place-names. Frankly, that fed into the whole ‘Lost Cause’ myth that sprung up in the aftermath of the Civil War. Maybe some day I’ll write a bit about that particular post-war pathology and the shit it led to. My personal feelings aside, I knew when this started it wasn’t going to stop. Maybe we’ll get another giant dick statue* in its place.

*Yes, that’s a thing. Boston unveiled a statue for MLK jr not that long ago, and it looks like a dick from one side.

We’ve known it was in the works for a while, but now, House Oversight Committee Chair James Comer (R-KY) has released a contempt resolution against FBI Director Christopher Wray. The resolution to hold Wray in contempt follows the FBI’s failure to comply with the subpoena directing the agency to turn over the FD-1023 form, revealed by a whistleblower, pertaining to purported bribery of then-Vice President Joe Biden by a foreign national. The committee will vote on the resolution on Thursday, at 9:00 am Eastern.

The resolution is accompanied by a 16-page report setting forth the basis for it.

The form of the resolution that the Committee on Oversight and Accountability would recommend to the U.S. House of Representatives for citing Christopher Wray, Director, Federal Bureau of Investigation, for contempt of Congress pursuant to this report is as follows:

Resolved, That Christopher Wray, Director, Federal Bureau of Investigation, shall be found in contempt of Congress for failure to comply with a congressional subpoena.

Resolved, That pursuant to 2 U.S.C. §§ 192 and 194, the Speaker of the House of Representatives shall certify the report of the Committee on Oversight and Accountability, detailing the refusal of Christopher Wray, Director, Federal Bureau of Investigation, to produce documents to the Committee on Oversight and
Accountability as directed by subpoena, to the United States Attorney for the District of Columbia, to the end that Director Wray be proceeded against in the manner and form provided by law.

Resolved, That the Speaker of the House is authorized to take all appropriate action to enforce the subpoena.

Along with the resolution, Comer released the following statement:

We have been clear that the FBI must produce the unclassified FD-1023 record to the custody of the House Committee on Oversight and Accountability. To date, the FBI has refused to comply with our lawfully issued subpoena and even refused to admit the record’s existence up until a week ago. Once Director Wray confirmed the record’s existence, the FBI started their coverup by leaking a false narrative to the media. The case is not closed as the White House, Democrats, and the FBI would have the American people believe. The FBI created this record based on information from a credible informant who has worked with the FBI for over a decade and paid six figures. The informant had first-hand conversations with the foreign national who claimed to have bribed then-Vice President Biden. And now, Attorney General Barr has confirmed that the record was given to the U.S. Attorney in Delaware for the purpose of that investigation. Americans have lost trust in the FBI’s ability to enforce the law impartially and demand answers, transparency, and accountability. The Oversight Committee must follow the facts for the American people and ensure the federal government is held accountable.

If you’re near your computer or TV on Thursday morning, you’ll want to grab the popcorn and tune into the Oversight hearing, as it promises to be interesting. RedState will, of course, continue to follow the story here, as well.
