Boebert Introduces Legislation To Abolish The ATF

Rep Lauren Boebert (R-CO), a staunch firearms advocate, has introduced a bill that would abolish the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF).

    From zerohedge.com

The bill, introduced on Jan. 3 when Congress reconvened for its 119th term, remains in the early stages of the legislative process. No text is currently available.

In February of 2023, Boebert said: “There’s been a lot of talk about defunding the ATF, even abolishing the agency altogether, and I’m still here waiting to hear a good reason why the ATF should remain an agency at all. Instead of providing regulations that keep our communities safe, this agency has made our communities more dangerous by wandering weapons to the cartels. Operation Fast and Furious exposed the recklessness of the ATF, how little regard they have for the rule of law, and Americans have had a hard time viewing these agencies and their rules as legitimate.”

Boebert isn’t the first Republican to suggest doing away with the ATF. In November, Rep. Eric Burlison (R-MO) called for the ATF to be abolished, citing numerous “mistakes” by the agency, including Operation Fast and Furious – and vowed to introduce similar legislation to Boebert.

The ATF has been accused of regulatory overreach by several gun rights groups – including introducing a rule classifying pistols with braces as short-barreled rifles. In August, the 8th US Circuit Court of Appeals ruled that the stabilizing brace rule was likely unconstitutional, Newsweekreports.

Meanwhile, Rep. Pat Fallon (R-TX) said in May of 2023, “Under the Biden administration, the ATF has been weaponized against gun owners and Americans who wish to acquire firearms in numerous ways in recent years.”

It’s the mystery of the MSM’s incredible disappearing Bill name!

Does everyone remember when dementia Joe said it was so important to pass the Inflation Reduction Act? Remember how every news outlet wrote about the Inflation Reduction Act? How it was a major effort to reduce inflation? Republicans were asking what tax hikes and climate legislation have to do with Inflation Reduction in the Inflation Reduction Act?

One has to wonder what happened to the Inflation Reduction Act. The Senate and House have passed new legislation. In case you were wondering what it is, it apparently is now…

    The reason they may want to avoid calling it the Inflation Reduction Act is because;

    Malarkey-Legislation

I do declare. The hysteria over a simple piece of Florida legislation continues to be astonishing. Even sports reporters felt the need to have their, figurative, say.

    Offensive Foul

    Madness Indeed
The Recount: “Today during the Women’s NCAA Tournament, ESPN’s Carolyn Peck and Courtney Lyle remained silent for two minutes in opposition of Florida’s ‘Don’t Say Gay’ bill.

“‘There are things bigger than basketball … Our LGBTQIA+ teammates at Disney asked for our solidarity and support.’”

Bobby Burack: “Here’s @ESPN’s Elle Duncan getting very upset that teachers can’t talk to very young children about sex and gender identity”

Clay Travis: “ESPN interrupted its coverage of women’s NCAA tournament for a moment of silence to protest the ‘don’t say gay,’ bill. So is @espn’s official policy as a company that public schools need to teach kindergarten through 3rd grade kids about sex?! Insanity.”

Burack: “ESPN’s Elle Duncan, who accused Sage Steele of not being black enough, says it’s unfair to families that teachers can’t discuss sexual orientation with young children.

“In the meantime, staffers at Disney, ESPN’s parent company, are staging walkouts over the matter. Disney Chief Bob Chapek even apologized to the woke for not condemning the bill hard enough last week.

“So Disney is leading the pushback. You’d think from reading this that the bill must be either vile or discriminatory. Nope, it’s neither. The so-called ‘Don’t Say Gay’ bill requires that teachers don’t discuss sexual orientation and gender identity with children in third grade and younger. That’s it.

“However, the Democrats and the press say the bill is homophobic and transphobic. Therefore, wokesters like these two women are against it, and thus now support teachers sexually indoctrinating very young children.”

Sen. Cruz: “Why the hell does @espn think that public schools need to teach 5-year-olds about sex & sexuality? Such virtue. Such lefty courage. Now do Lia Thomas. Or China.”

American Mail: “Does it seem to you that ESPN supports child abuse?”

Kath: “In other words, ESPN let every parent watching know they are praying that their K-3rd-grade children will learn how to masturbate in school. Sick.”

    Shot
Jesse Kelly wisdom: “Democrats never know when to take their foot off the gas and Republicans never know when to take their foot off the brake.”

    Chaser
Variety headline: “A same-sex kiss has been restored in Pixar’s upcoming film #Lightyear following staff uproar over Florida’s ‘Don’t Say Gay’ bill.”

NY Bill Says Governor Could ‘Order The Removal’ Of People With ‘Contagious Disease’

It is always interesting to see just how far progressives will go to control everything. Again, New York leads the way with a newly proposed bill to detain citizens. In this instance, the crime is being ill. Hmmm, the common cold can be a “communicable disease”.

New York State Assembly Bill A416 states:

The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assembly, do enact as follows: Removal and detention of cases, contacts and carriers who are or may be a danger to public health; other orders. The provisions of this section shall be utilized in the event that the governor declares a state of health emergency due to an epidemic of any communicable disease. Upon determining by clear and convincing evidence that the health of others is or may be endangered by a case, contact or carrier, or  suspected case, contact or carrier of a contagious disease that, in the opinion of the governor, after consultation with the commissioner, may pose an imminent and significant threat to the public health resulting in severe morbidity or high mortality, the governor or his or her delegee, including, but not limited to the commissioner or the heads of local health departments, may order the removal and/or detention of such a person or of a group of such persons by issuing a single order, identifying such persons either by name or by a reasonably specific description of the individuals or group being detained.

Such person or group of persons shall be detained in a medical facility or other appropriate facility or premises designated by the governor or his or her delegee …

In New York fascism is a “communicable disease” among their elected officials.

  • Sustainability for Media

    Sustainability for Media

The media is dying; however, will not die gracefully. They need only to find a great deal of money. Its bias has alienated a majority of the country with the exception of those groups it’s bias supports.

H.R. 7640: The Local Journalism Sustainability Act has been  introduced in Congress.

The bill is supported by a coalition including Report for America and the National Newspaper Association. This bill would provide tax credits for newspaper subscriptions and tax credits for paying the salaries of the radical  activists employed by the newspaper. Further, an offer of a $5,000 tax credit for advertising in newspapers.

To no one’s surprise, the bill is the product of a Democrat representative, Rep. Ann Kirkpatrick. It is her position the bill would fund “local newspapers”, while ignoring the fact those local newspapers are largely owned by national operations and hedge funds.

Though they claim the bill will help save “local journalism” how does the Local Journalism Sustainability Act  define local journalism? It is not based on the paper, but the readers. If 51% of the paper’s readers live in the same state, or,alternatively, they live within 200 miles of each other. it’s considered a local paper. This includes papers who are a subsidiary of a national chain whose headquarters are in New York or D.C.

Nothing about this bailout is local. The money will, mostly, go to subsidize the corporate newspaper chains that are lobbying for it, while bribing businesses and readers to fund the failed business model.

While businesses with a viable business model are being destroyed, Democrats are legislating to keep the media alive by offering exclusive tax credits to their political all at the citizens expense.

It is a pile of sleazy slime!
