    BREAKING: Explosion at US/Canada Border Crossing

    A vehicle exploded at the CPB checkpoint at the Rainbow Bridge between the US and Canadian cities of Niagara Falls. It appears the vehicle had a large amount of explosives in it when it detonated at the checkpoint on the US side of the Bridge. The two occupants of the vehicle are dead and one person at the checkpoint was injured.

    As of this writing, all four of the Western New York border crossings have been closed. It is unclear when they will reopen.

    BREAKING: Hostage Situation at a Texas Synagogue

    There is breaking news out of Texas. A man has taken 4 people hostage at Congregation Beth Israel in Colleyville, Texas.

    It is believed that there are four hostages inside the synagogue, including the rabbi and three others. The suspect is believed to be armed. He also claims to have bombs cached in unknown locations.

    The suspect’s sister, a known terrorist, Aafia Siddiqui, was convicted in New York of trying to kill US military personnel. She is incarcerated at Carswell Air Force Base near Fort Worth, and he reportedly is demanding that she be freed.

    The FBI and the Colleyville SWAT team arrived on-scene around mid-day.

    Breaking: Shooting at Vienna Synagogue

    News is breaking out of Austria, where there are reports of a gunman opening fire at a synagogue in the capitol city of Vienna. The austrian interior ministry has said that at least one person was killed and several more were injured.

    Reports say the attack was on the street that houses the city’s main synagogue. Other media reported shots fired in the area of a nearby square, Schwedenplatz. The gunman was reported to still be on the loose.

    Update 1630 eastern:

    There are allegedly 3 shooters, one confirmed fatality and several serious injuries. At least one of the seriously injured now reported to be a police officer.
