California governor Gavin Newsome signed a bill that requires prison officials to house inmates by their “preferred gender”. The law says officials must ask inmates during the intake process if they identify as transgender, nonbinary or intersex. At least 472 NYPD officers across all ranks have been injured responding to riots and protests since May 28, department data shows. Officers have been shot at, stabbed, assaulted with rocks, bricks, struck by vehicles and had Molotov cocktails hurled at them. Of those injured, 319 cops required hospital treatment and seven were hospitalized. That’s a 47 percent increase from 2019.
