St. Louis Cardinals pitcher Bob Gibson died Friday night after a battle with pancreatic cancer. He was 84.
Born in November of 1935, Bob made his professional debut at age 23 in 1959 with the Cardinals and played for them his entire 16 year career. Gibson had a 251–174 record with a 2.91 ERA and 3,117 strikeouts.
A Hall of Famer, Gibson was a nine-time All-Star and two-time World Series champion, he won two Cy Young Awards and the 1968 National League Most Valuable Player Award.
