The View from Here

Today’s featured image is of the Lake of the Isles. The lake really isn’t a lake, but an embayment of the St. Lawrence river. The majority of the Lake of the Isles is surrounded by Wellesley island with an outlet between Wellesley island on the US side and Hill island on the Canadian side.

Last night was the Vice-Presidential Debate. Frankly, I watched baseball instead. But judging by what I’ve read today, Mike Pence was the clear winner. It also became clear that the Biden camp is still refusing to answer any questions about court packing.

I wrote about BLM shooting up Wauwatosa PD officer Joseph Mensah’s home here. Mensah was on paid leave while an investigation into an officer involved shooting was underway. Mensah shot and killed 17 year old Alvin Cole after Cole pointed a gun at Mensah and three other officers. Yesterday, the Milwaukee County District Attorney announced that he would not be bringing charges against the police officers involved in that shooting.

Needless to say, riots erupted in Wauwatosa last night. Initially peaceful, violence broke out shortly after dark, despite a curfew being in place and a heavy police presence.

I worry for my Country. . . .

Have you seen Nancy Pelosi’s latest stunt to try to remove the President? She’s talking about trying to invoke the 25th amendment. Unfortunately for her, there’s no way it’s going anywhere. This is her pandering to the far left, TDS afflicted members of her party.

Zul Mirza Mohamed is a candidate for mayor in Carrollton, Texas. Or should I say was? Mohamed was arrested and charged with 84 counts of mail ballot application fraud and 25 counts of unlawful possession of an official mail ballot.

And voter fraud doesn’t exist. . . .

Fat Bear Week 2020 has ended. Every year the bears of the Brooks river pack on the pounds for their winter hibernation. This year’s big winner is bear 747.

Journalist Andy Ngo is reporting that of the 974 riot related cases brought to the Multnomah county DA’s office by Portland Police, 543 cases were rejected in the “interest of justice,” 44 cases due to “insufficient evidence,” 12 cases due to “a legal impediment,” and 67 cases are “pending investigative follow-up from law enforcement.”

Is it any wonder they can’t get the rioting under control. . .
