Secretary of Defense, Mark Esper has been fired. The Director of the National Counterterrorism Center, Christopher Miller has been named to replace him.
Esper has been on thin ice since going on record saying he didn’t support the use of the insurrection act to help quell the rioting and unrest this summer. He reportedly drafted a resignation letter within the past few days while working on regulations to change the names of Military bases named after confederate leaders.

I suspect Esper won’t be the only firing. FBI director Chris Wray is also on the president’s bad side. I’d be surprised if he lasts the week.
