Milvets and Patriots Year End Review

No matter where you are or who you are, 2020 has been one hell of a year. We here at Milvets and Patriots are presenting a year end review for your enjoyment.

JANUARY

by Mr Wizard

2019 ended with a whimper, the NBA had just finished eating a 100 lb turd over the Hong Kong protest after the self proclaimed king of basketball with barely a high school education took to Twitter and proclaimed that Rockets general manager Daryl Morey, had lost his mind ‘I believe he wasn’t educated on the situation’. Morley has a computer science degree from Northwestern and a Masters degree from MIT Sloan School of Management, King James has a HS diploma from St. Vincent–St. Mary High School.

January opened with a bang in different parts of the world, the Chinese were welding doors shut on apartment block in Wuhan to “control” the virus and the US drone hammered Maj. Gen. Qasem Soleimani outside Baghdad airport in Iraq. Much handwringing, moaning and and general PMS brought liberals to the defense of Satan’s righthand man and Iran threatened to burn the Western World to ashes for about the 587th time.

Jan 7th is a special day an the calendar in the Wizard household, it’s Mr. Wizard’s birthday, of course I and my many admirers think it should be a national holiday, alas it is not at this point. My birthday is also shared with Linda Kozlowski (that hot little blonde cookie from the Crocodile Dundee movies), Nicolas Cage and Lewis Hamilton the F1 champion.

It only took a couple of days (Jan 8th) for the Iranians to FUBAR the burning the Western World to ashes by downing a Ukrainian Boeing 737-800 right after takeoff. I’m not reporting that it’s a fact that the Iranian’s smoked it with an anti aircraft missile, it’s just what about everybody who is not part of the Iranian government thinks.

Coincidentally another earth shattering event happened on the same day, Duke and Duchess of Sussex announce they are stepping back as “senior” royals, will work towards becoming financially independent. Once I heard that Harry had sold a matched pair of Purdy rifles to please Megan, I knew she had something of his in her purse and he probably would not need them anymore.

Later in the month (Jan 20th) the luckiest man on the planet, Tim Tebow married South African Miss Universe 2017 Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters (24) in Cape Town, South Africa.

FEBRUARY

by Chance

It was a leap year….

Chinese Zodiac: RAT

Who didn’t see this happening?

February 18, the Boy Scouts of America filed for Title 11 bankruptcy.

It was turned into a meat factory contaminated with pollution of the mind, body, & spirit

Abandoned by its crew, this cargo vessel made a lonely odyssey across the Atlantic, a ghost ship

destined never to make port. The 77-metre MV Alta drifted for over a year, skirting the Americas. Africa and Europe, rusting and derelict yet resolutely afloat

Roger Stone sentenced to 40 months

Stone, one of the Republican leader’s allies and “oldest friends,” was convicted in November of lying to Congress, tampering with a witness and obstructing the House investigation into whether the Trump campaign coordinated with Russia to cheat in the 2016 election

MARCH

By KITDAFBS

The big news for the month of March was the declaration of a global pandemic for the Chinese coronavirus by the WHO. That happened on the 11th, however the virus had been raging across the globe for months. In the middle of the month, Italy, an early epicenter for the pandemic experienced it’s most deadly day, with 675 people dying of the disease.

In politics, the Democratic primaries were in full swing. Eventual winner Joe Biden picked up wins in 18 states throughout the month. Later in the month, former South Bend mayor Pete Buttegieg suspended his campaign for President.

In world news, the brushfires that had been raging across Australia were finally contained by early March. The Summer Olympics, set to be held in Japan, were officially rescheduled for 2021.

APRIL

by AuntiE

April 2: Global coronavirus cases surpass one million.
April 2: The United States Food and Drug Administration asks companies to stop selling all forms of the heartburn drug Ranitidine (Zantac). The agency says some medications contain a nitrosamine impurity called N-Nitrosodimethylamine (NDMA), a probable human carcinogen.
April 9: The state of New York alone has the highest number of coronavirus cases than any country in the world.
The adverse impact of COVID was felt in many personal ways: masks or no masks (As usual the CDC fails!) schools closed; learning new working from home strategies, while managing children’s education from home; paper products shortages; denying of First Amendment rights for religious freedom with the government’s tyrannical edict to close churches. For many, the religious edicts, also, impacted annual spring family visits. The authoritarians were generous in providing additional funds for unemployment payments and generously allowing us to delay filing our federal taxes. With schools closed, there was no annual standardized testing, which allows the USA to not show up, internationally, falling further behind.

MAY

by WhiteKnightLeo

May was a big month in 2020, and not just because it’s my favorite month. So much happened this year that it’s been difficult to keep track of it all, so here’s the big stories from May.

The Tara Reade scandal – yes, Biden is a proven sexual predator, and the media did almost everything they could to cover for him. The Witch of Michigan even publicly lamented having to talk about Reade – a far cry from her reaction to the Kavanaugh hoaxes.

Lockdown protests – yes, we had protests against the lockdowns as far back as May 2nd. Yes, seven months ago.

Chinese espionage – some bigtime arrests of spies happened in May, including at the National Institute of Health.

Biogen Superspreader – the CDC said a biogen conference is Boston may have been a superspreader event for the China Syndrome.

‘I Don’t Want an Investigation’ Into Tara Reade Allegation, ‘I Want a Coronation of Joe Biden’ – this was a real sentence said by the founder of Politico in May. Biden’s supporters knew he was guilty, knew he was crooked, and they covered for him anyway.

US rejects Moon Treaty, re-endorses Space Mining Act.

US Field Hospitals started closing, most of them never having seen a single patient.

53 Intel interviews released, providing proof-positive that literally everyone pushing the Russiagate hoax knew it was a hoax the whole time.

As of May, 1/3 of all China Syndrome deaths in the US were in NYC, specifically. Don’t ever let anyone forget Cuomo’s culpability.

Twitter begins labeling “misinformation Tweets” about COVID.

Justice Department drops charges against Flynn, asks for dismissal. Yes, that was seven months ago.

CNN puts Greta Thunberg – literally a teenager with no professional qualifications of any kind – on a COVID panel.

Lot of big stories, yes? Here’s the kicker:

All of those happened before May 14th. Yes, the first two weeks of May was that packed.

If you forgot a few – or all of them – you’re not alone; so much happened this year that I’d forgotten Reade’s name until last week when I started writing my entry into our retrospective. I actually thought I’d dreamed CNN putting Thunberg on their expert COVID panel.

JUNE

by WhyNot

June, 2020 marked the beginning of the Pro-Trump MAGA boat parades and every weekend one or more occurred all summer long.

Conversely, June saw the peaceful protests of BLM/Anitfa throughout the nation, as a result of the death of George Floyd on May 25, in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Mr. George was afforded not one, but three funerals. One complete with a gold casket. And peaceful turned to rioting, arson & looting in cities from Chicago to Seattle and the declaration of an independent state of CHAZ, in Portland. While the MSM denied the anarchy and destruction, as “A Peaceful Protest of Collective Grief” and the DNC took a knee, adorned in Kente cloth; they too denied the existence of the mayhem. All the while, the DNC accepting the donations from ActBlue an intermediary for BLM/Antifa. And who can forget the front page picture of the McCloskey’s defending their home in St. Louis, Missouri. Or Bubba Wallace, one of NASCAR circuit driver’s fearing for his life at the sight of a garage door pull, in the shape of a loop, which had to be investigated by 17 FBI agents.

Patrica & Mark McCloskey

So many events took place without a lot of fanfare. USMCA became effective July 1; while USTR Lighthizer detailed the terms and conditions to that upcoming agreement & ongoing negotiations with other countries, which impacts everyone. Quietly, came and went. Meanwhile, Attorney, Sidney Powell continued to spar with Judge Emmett Sullivan, in defense of her client General Michael Flynn, who’s case the Dept of Justice had dropped . June 23 saw the completion of 200th mile of new US-Mexico wall. DoJ announced their preparation of an Anti-Trust Lawsuit against Google. And President Trump took a walk across the street to St. John’s church accompanied by Defense Secretary Mark Esper, Attorney General Bill Barr, Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany, National Security Advisor Robert O’Brien and Chief of Staff Mark Meadows. Admittedly, that last event got the tongues a wagging from the micro-managers, overly opinionated, all knowing crowd.

JULY

by Rogue Unicorn

Jul 3/4: The Launch of Military Veterans and Patriots! The plan for the site originally came about after a concern another site was going away (it didn’t), but as KITDAFBS and I discussed our vision, we decided that what we wanted to do was different and valuable, and worth pursuing in its own right! Developing and nurturing the site has been a pleasure for both of us, and we are always open to any suggestions for improvement.

Jul 9:  McGirt v. Oklahoma, in landmark case US Supreme Court rules Congress had not disestablished Oklahoma Indian reserves. This outsider is uncertain how the normal flow of things has been impacted. Any Okies out there?

Jul 17:  Death of John Lewis, American politician (Rep-D-Georgia) and prominent civil rights leader (Big Six), due to pancreatic cancer age 80, and then on Jul 27 becomes the first black lawmaker to lie in state in the Rotunda in Washington D.C. Was also where Oblahblahblah used his funeral to throw political stones. Very poorly done…tsk, tsk.

Jul 30: NASA launches to Mars its Perseverance rover and Ingenuity helicopter aboard a V 541 rocket from Cape Canaveral, Florida. Woot, Woot! USA taking back space! (I also happen to know the dude who designed the rocket)

AUGUST

by Rogue Unicorn

Aug 1: Egypt tells Elon Musk its pyramids were not built by aliens, after Musk tweets in support of a conspiracy theory that they did. Bwahahahaha!

Aug 2: SpaceX Dragon capsule carrying NASA astronauts Doug Hurley and Bob Behnken splashes down in the Gulf of Mexico, 1st commercial crewed mission. I watched the whole event, and all I wanted at that moment was to be on one of those boats out in the gulf!

Aug 4: Huge explosions at the port of Beirut, Lebanon, kill more than 200 and leaves over 6,000 thousand people injured. Lots of conspiracy theories involving this event, but it came down to improperly stored chemicals (regardless of their intended use). A tragedy for many.

Aug 9: Disputed Belarusian presidential election sees long time dictator Alexander Lukashenko officially win 80% of the votes but unofficially lose 60-70% of the votes to main opposition candidate Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya. Sparks widespread protests in Belarus and international condemnation. Lots of smoke, then the hammer came down. Another blow for ‘democracy’

Aug 11: California Senator Kemala Harris is announced as Sleepy Joe’s running mate. Ugh, need I say more?

Aug 18: Joe Biden is formally nominated as the Democratic party’s presidential candidate during the second night of their 1st ever virtual convention. Double Ugh. And on my birthday, no less….

Aug 20: Russian opposition figure Alexei Navalny falls into a coma after a suspected poisoning (later confirmed to be Novichok poisoning). Russians doing what Russians do best….

Aug 27: Hurricane Laura makes landfall in Louisiana near the Texas border as a category 4 storm with 150 mph winds, killing at least 16. Ones of many hurricanes this season, but clearly the worst.

SEPTEMBER

by Mr Wizard

Sep 3 MacKenzie Scott, philanthropist and ex-wife of Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos, becomes world’s richest woman worth $68 billion, and the most sought after woman around for a while. Bezos’s girlfriend must have some powerful stuff. She may have some magic, but 68 billion is a lot of magic. You would think practically the richest man in the world could get a better draft pick.

Sep 5 146th Kentucky Derby: 8-1 underdog Authentic with John R. Velazquez aboard holds off heavy favorite Tiz the Law to give trainer Bob Baffert his record-tying 6th Derby win. It was a great race an the Wiz is a big derby fan but it just wasn’t the same in September.

Sep 6 100,000 people demonstrate in Minsk against Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko, amid month-long protests against his re-election

Sep 7 Wildfires have burnt a record 2 million acres in California 2020 fire season, more than the state of Delaware according to Cal Fire.

My favorite Babylon Bee story of the year appears to comment on the wildfires. Whether you believe in God or not, you must admit there’s a bit of Karma going on in California.

Not to be left out Oregon jumps into a wildfire panic. Wildfires in Oregon cause 500,000 people to evacuate, 10% of the population with unprecedented 900,000 acres burnt. Following California isn’t always a good idea.

If 2020 wasn’t already bad enough. Houston officials confirm water supply around Lake Jackson, Texas, is contaminated with brain-eating amoeba after death of six-year-old boy. Just what we needed.

On a sad note Terry Goodkind, American epic fantasy novelist (The Sword of Truth), dies at 72. One of my favorite scifi series involving wizards and magic.

Sep 18 Ruth Bader Ginsburg, American jurist and Associate Justice of the Supreme Court of the United States (1993-2020), dies of pancreatic cancer at 87, giving President Trump a third SCOTUS pick and confirmation right before the election, much to the dismay of Cryin Chuck Schumer.

OCTOBER

by WhyNot

What didn’t happen in October, leading up to the election of November 3

It may be easier to separate them in to two categories – what the Main Stream Media chose to acknowledge:

COVID Madness dominated the reporting with California’s Governor Newsom mandating “gathering of more than 3 in a household is prohibited” to removing and replacing your mask between bites. Not to be outdone, Michigan’s Whitmer and Detroit’s Lightfoot managed to ignore the Constitution, also. However, on a positive note – we saw the confirmation of Judge Amy Coney Barrett to the SCOTUS on October 26. And the MSM did manage to provide coverage for both the Presidential debates (Trump roasts) on September 29, October 15 was cancelled as Pres. Trump was diagnosed with C-19 and the final debate taking place October 22 in Nashville, TN. And the Vice-Pres. debate between VP Pence & Sen. Harris on October 7.

Now for the October News – what the Main Stream Media basically chose to ignore:

Biden “family” highly questionable financial arrangements with China, Ukraine, and Russia+. Tony Bobulinski’s testimony verifying these “Big Guy” terms. Further evidenced by the contents of Hunter Biden’s laptop(s) plural, which were eventually located by the FBI. Sen Johnson committee discussing Biden bribery. Inclusive of one of Joe Biden’s more lucid moments to announce “We have put together I think the most extensive and inclusive voter fraud organization in the history of American politics.”
Continuation of robbing, looting and burning by the peaceful protesters which was directly tied to funding from China.
The whirlwind number of rallies held by Pres. Trump with thousands in attendance versus Joe Biden’s intimate gathering of supporters gathered in little circles.
US Marshall service continued to rescue victims of human trafficking and arrest those involved in this heinous crime. Of which we saw the opening by Homeland Security of the “National Center for Countering Human Trafficking”

NOVEMBER

By KITDAFBS

Kicking off November was the news that the baby shark dance is now the most viewed video on YouTube.

You’re welcome

The Presidential election was held on the third of the month, putting incumbent Donald Trump against Joe Biden. The election was noteworthy for several reasons. First, record numbers of Americans voted this year. Second, and I can’t prove this but it’s pretty obvious, there was widespread, systemic voter fraud. As the year turns, more than a month and a half after the vote took place, there are still court challenges taking place.

On the international front, conflict erupted in Nagorno-Karabakh, an Armenian enclave in Azerbaijan and in the Tigray region of Ethiopia. Both conflicts are ethnicity based. The Karabakh war was short lived, with Russia brokering a peace deal. The conflict over Tigray still simmers, with the conflict devolving from open war to a fierce insurgency.

Elon musk’s SpaceX successfully launched the second Dragon Crew mission into space, delivering three NASA astronauts, Michael S. Hopkins, Victor J. Glover, Shannon Walker and JAXA astronaut Soichi Noguchi to the International Space Station.

Iran lost its most senior nuclear scientist, Mohsen Fakhrizadeh, when he is assassinated by gunmen in Absard, a suburb of Tehran. It is suspected that the Israeli intelligence service, the Mossad was responsible for the killing.

DECEMBER

by AuntiE

What a month December 2020 has been!

The tyrants continue to confine people to their homes, unless you want to buy adult beverages, lottery tickets or go to strip clubs. Of course, as all too frequently shown, they are not required to follow their edicts. To mask or not to mask continues to be debated.

The election steal results continue to be debated.

The Congress, generously, decided to give us $600 apiece, while providing foreign entities with substantially more. Bless their little hearts, they decided to retroactively provide illegal with aliens with funds. Fortunately, the President rejected the COVID pork filled bill. The phrase  government shutdown has reared its head. For myself, they could shut it down so those who have continued to receive pay checks could feel some of the pain Main Street has endured. Truthfully, a government shutdown only involves approximately 20% of the government and rarely, if ever, adversely impacts most citizens.

Our embassy has been attacked and what retaliation may occur is still unknown. Many are having to forgo their Christmas traditions. Fortunately, Santa is exempt from the travel restrictions and visiting homes.

2021 may be a continuation of the tyranny we have seen in 2020. As a gif someone posted so succinctly said, at 12:01AM, January 1, we can all say our hindsight was 2020.
