Your editor apologizes for the dearth of reportage in this space of late. The work schedule is somewhat unusual of late due to the impending Christmas holiday. With any luck, the View will return to it’s former glory after the New Year.
I have to wonder what’s going on at our service academies of late. The Air Force academy had a sexual harassment/rape scandal last year that cost the commandant her job, there were several minor scandals at Annapolis in the past few years and now, there’s a huge cheating scandal at West Point. It seems that 72 cadets there got the same exact wrong answer on a calculus exam. That makes it the worst cheating scandal since 1972. 59 of the cadets admitted to cheating and the majority have been enrolled in a rehabilitation program and will be on probation for the duration of their time at West Point. Whatever happened to a cadet will not lie, cheat, or steal, or tolerate those who do ?
Queen Karen err Dr Deborah Birx has announced she was retiring. Why you ask seeing as she has been angling for a job in the next administration? Dr. Birx was caught ignoring her own recommendations about the WuFlu. She had Thanksgiving dinner with several members of her family that don’t reside in the same household and travelled to Delaware from her primary home in Virginia to do so. Wait though, it gets worse. She then came up with some cock and bull story about having to winterize the house in preparation for a pending sale. Apparently, like every other Karen, Birx dislikes being held to the same standards she set. Officially she’s retiring because of the “overwhelming scrutiny she’s facing. Personally, I’m sick of the unaccountable making rules for us plebes and rubbing it in our faces when they don’t follow the same rules.
Former New Jersey governor Chris Christie says he’s planning on running for President in 2024 regardless of whether Trump runs again. Bad move fat boy. You were a ray of hope in deep blue NJ while you were governor there, but since there isn’t much on your record. Other than having some aides indicted over the Bridge gate scandal that is.
Democrat Rita Hart, who lost her Congressional election in Iowa’s Second District has filed paperwork in the House of Representatives to have her defeat overturned. Yeah, it’s a thing, yeah it’s been done before, most recently I the early 80’s, and given the hyper-partisan nature of Congress theses days has at least a 50-50 chance of happening now. Of note, Hart has not filed a legal challenge over her 6 vote loss to Republican Mariennette Miller-Meeks. Also of note, Iowa has certified the results after a full recount.
A train of tank cars carrying crude oil has derailed north of Seattle today. Between three and five tank cars derailed at about 11:40 a.m., BNSF Railway said on Twitter. The derailed cars caught fire and a large plume of thick black smoke could be seen for miles. Normally I wouldn’t cover a run of the mill derailment like this, but it was only a couple of weeks ago that the Justice Department announced they had arrested and charged several people for attempting to detail trains in that general vicinity. Things that make you go hmm . . .
Dana White is a dick, always has been one. But that said, even a stopped clock is right twice a day. Dana blasted the MSM in a twitter video today, and it’s worth a watch:
Your editor isn’t much of a football fan, he prefers baseball, but this is big news from the college football world. For only the second time since 1908 the Rose Bowl is changing locations. The 1942 Rose Bowl game was played at Duke University in Durham North Carolina in the wake of the Pearl Harbor attack as the West coast was deemed unsafe. This year’s event will be held at AT&T Stadium in Dallas.
The associated Tournament of Roses parade has already been cancelled this year due to the Chinese lung AIDS epidemic.
