Malarkey – Banking

First they tested the use of penalizing those who disagreed with their policies in Canada. Currently, they attempted it against Russia. China has been using it for quite sometime.

In the ’olden days’, people would keep cash under their mattress. It may be time to return to the ’olden days’.

The time is quickly approaching where one may need to consider keeping only sufficient funds, in their bank account, to cover online payments.

Debunking Debanking

Trudeau’s Troubling Trend
Greenwald vid: “Banishment from the Financial System: the War on Dissent. The tactics used to choke the finances of Canadian tuckers and other dissidents has been a decade in the making.”

WSJ ed board: “Modern liberals can hurtle from extravagant tolerance to suppression without batting an eye. Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau dramatizes the tendency.” … “The asset freezes serve not to end an emergency but to incapacitate and intimidate protesters after the fact.”

David Sacks: “Last summer I wrote a post for @bariweiss warning that financial deplatforming would be the next phase of online censorship. This has now arrived in Canada. We cannot allow it to become our future in the U.S.”

“How did things get to this point? For years, ideologues have used accusations of bigotry to hound people from their jobs, kick them off social media, and rescind their right to participate in the online economy. However, many observers shrugged off these cases as outliers—fringe examples that could be ignored because they affected unsympathetic individuals. But now we have a wide-ranging group of working-class people and their supporters who are being financially deplatformed for civil disobedience.”

“The self-conception of these pundits and politicians could not be more at odds with reality. They pose as defenders of democracy while invoking emergency powers without legislative or public debate, or without an emergency for that matter. They claim that diversity and tolerance are their highest values while insisting that only one political point of view is acceptable and censoring the alternatives. Above all, progressive elites see themselves as the champions of the disadvantaged while demonizing working-class men and women whose economic livelihoods have been devastated by their draconian Covid policies.”

Canaries In The (Canceled) Coal Mine
Sacks headline (July): “Get Ready for the ‘No-Buy’ List; First Big Tech censored speech. Now they want to shut deplorables out of the financial system.”

Daily Signal headline (September): “The Left Doesn’t Just Want to Censor You on Social Media. It Also Wants to Close Your Bank Accounts.”

Newsweek headline (January): “Cancel Culture Comes to Banking”

“What we are seeing today raises many of those same concerns—the right to open a business, to express your views or simply to earn a living are of little value if you cannot get access to a bank account to collect or make payments. It’s time to stop cancel culture in banking before it is too late.”
