Friday Fun

Our weekly foray into the lighter side is back after a week’s hiatus.

See the OKDWC twitter/X can be educational. . .

Don’t get me wrong, this is really, really unsafe, but your editor has hunted out of ‘treestands’ like that in his youth. Also, refresher hunter safety courses are a good thing. After hunting for like 20 years, I took the NY course again when my son took it. (Re)Learned a bunch of stuff.

While we’re on the topic of the outdoors, I have a warning for all of you in Moose country (I suppose this could go for elk as well): Steer clear of the moose. The reason I bring this up is a story out of Ward Colorado. A woman was walking her dog in a park when she was attacked by a moose. The Shiras moose came out of the woods and headbutted and stomped the woman. She survived, but any time a 1000lb + critter decides it doesn’t like you, your life could end in seconds. Moose are not like Bullwinkle and can/will stomp a mudhole in your @ss.

This week’s Pearls before Swine strip:

I have to say, I like dogs more than I like people. . .
