2022 Army-Navy Game at the Linc
Hotel Chain Cancels Reservations For Army-Navy Game
The annual Army-Navy football game is being held in Massachusetts this year. It’s the first time the game is being played in New England. It’s usually held in Philadelphia, but the Academies agreed to hold it in other locations for the next 5 years before returning to the City of Brotherly Love.
This is proving problematic for some of the attendees. Giri hotel management has cancelled the reservations of a bunch of cadet families and Veterans.
Scores of military veterans, service academy graduates and families are scrambling to find hotel rooms for the big Army-Navy game at Gillette Stadium Dec. 9 because their reservations were canceled to make way for migrant families. https://t.co/YFKJkGsJzY

A travel agent who handles hotel rooms for military families said at least 70 of his rooms at three hotels were “taken back” by the hotel management company because the state recently contracted to put newly arrived migrants there.
A spokeswoman for a hotel management company that operates the Comfort Inn in Foxboro and several other hotels near Gillette confirmed they are providing housing for “refugees” who recently arrived.“We are delighted to confirm that we are indeed taking refugees at our hotels,” said Claire Mulholland, VP of Marketing for Giri Hotel Management.
“Refugees“. And they are “Delighted“. Me? I’m disgusted. I avoid Massachusetts on principle, too many Massholes there, but were I to travel there, I sure as hell wouldn’t be staying at a Giri owned property.
More from the Boston Herald:
Getting the Army-Navy game is a big deal, providing a much-needed boost to the Boston area and funneling millions of dollars into the local economy. The game will take place Dec. 9 at Gillette and is already sold out. Thousands of service academy graduates and families will be flocking to the state for the big game.
But a recent post by the Armed Forces Press said the Army-Navy game has turned into a “cluster” because Massachusetts canceled hotel rooms “to give to migrants as a ‘right to shelter’ state.”
It features reports from numerous frustrated service academy graduates who had their rooms canceled.
Cluster. I’m betting that was sanitized for publication at the Herald. I’m thinking the original was cluster fuck.
Let’s be honest, the alumni associations for the Academies have quite a bit of pull when it comes to things like the scheduling and location of the game. I doubt it will ever be played at Foxboro again.
