There are multiple reports floating around that indicate that many current and former senior FBI and DOJ officials are seeking legal representation. It seems they are worried about forthcoming criminal investigations once Trump officially takes office in 63 days.

Frankly, I’m not sure how I feel about this. On the one hand, if there is clear evidence of criminal wrongdoing, like Mayorkas’ constant perjury in front of Congress, investigation and prosecution is definitely in order. On the other hand, those kinds of political persecutions are what got us here in the first place. As Mahatma Gandhi said; an eye for an eye leaves the whole world blind.
Perhaps firing the individuals responsible along with stripping them of any and all clearances they may have and blackballing them from federal service going forward could serve as both punishment and deterrence. I will admit I am not entirely sure how far I want to see the Purge™ go. Let me know what you think about this in the comments, I’m genuinely undecided and curious as to what y’all think.
