Random News And Notes 22 May

Let’s start with the elephant in the room, Trump’s big beautiful bill has passed the House. It was a mostly party-line vote with two R’s voting no along with all the D’s.

I expect to have some shots taken at me for what I am about to write next. This is a bad bill, full stop.

Name me one thing this bill does that is any good long term for the country besides the tax rates and possibly the border? Bueller? Bueller?

You do realize that it locks in the vast majority of the green new scam funding right? That it raises the deficit in every year it has been scored out to? I bet you don’t. Love him or hate him, Thomas Massie is 10000000% correct here:

The bond markets – an entity that doesn’t give a flying fuck about politics – have already started reacting negatively. I do not begin to call myself an expert in bond arbitrage, but I do know higher yields are bad, as they cost the issuer more in interest payments. Yields are now above their previous 20 year high. Not good.

A depraved pro-hams lunatic from Chicago shot and killed to Israeli Embassy staffers in DC last night. Sarah Milgram and Yaron Lischinsky were attending an event at the Capital Jewish Museum when they were accosted and shot. Milligram was an American Jew working for the embassy. Lischinsky was an Israeli Christian embassy staffer. May their memory be a blessing.

The shooter, who I will not identify was shouting ‘free Palestine’ and waving a keffyieh as he was arrested. He also appears to have written a manifesto of some kind. May he rot in piss. . .

Nancy Mace, the South Carolina rep – and my political crush now that the snack that was Kyrsten Sinema is no longer active in politics – has filed a resolution to have LaMonica McIver expelled from the House.

McIver, you will remember, assaulted an ICE agent in Newark and is facing federal charges over it.

Last week there was severe weather across the Midwest. An EF-5 tornado hit St Louis MO and killed at least 5 people and caused untold damage. It turns out that the sirens used to warn of tornadoes were not activated.

Why you might ask? I would, and I’m not the only one. It turns out that the responsible person was off-site. At some workshop, while severe weather – including tornado watches and warnings – was on its way.

Yeah that was the head of CEMA (City Emergency Management Agency) in St. Louis. Anyway, it’s on paid leave.

South African president Cyril Ramaphosa was at the White House yesterday. The press availability in the Oval Office was going swimmingly right up until Ramaphosa denied the targeted killings – I am loath to call it a genocide, that word has a specific definition, am what is happening to the Afrikaaners and other Whites in SA does not meet that definition. Yet – of Boer farmers and land owners. At that point Trump went all president of the AV club on Cyril and played a montage of receipts.

Ramaphosa’s face ran the gamut of expressions. He finally landed on a shocked grimace. After all, there was no riposte or rejoinder he could mount in the face of that.

There has been an incident at the main gates of the CIA headquarters in Langley VA.

From the NY Post:

A female driver was shot at CIA headquarters early Thursday in what the agency called a “security incident” after she refused to follow commands at a checkpoint, according to law enforcement sources and local police.

The “non-fatal shooting” occurred before 4 a.m. outside the agency’s main gated entrance in McLean, Va., a Fairfax County Police Department spokesperson confirmed.

“FCPD officers are currently in the area providing traffic support while the CIA conducts its investigation,” the rep added.

If an update is warranted, you can rest assured I will provide one.
