Random News and Notes 31 May

Two notable figures passed yesterday, actress Loretta Swit and former NYC police commissioner Bernard Kerik.

Bernie Kerik was commish on 9/11 and helped the City and the country navigate the days and weeks following the fall of the Twin Towers. Bernie Kerik was 69.

Loretta Swit was best known for her portrayal of major Margaret ‘hotlips’ Houlihan on the TV show MASH. She won two emmy awards for her performance on the Korean War dramedy.

Requiescat in Pace.

I assume you know about the case of illegal Ramon Morales Reyes. If not, he was accused of sending a threatening letter to ICE agents threatening to kill the President. He was arrested for the threats and it was discovered he was in the country illegally and had committed several violent felonies including hit-and-run and domestic violence.

Anyway, it is starting to look like Morales Reyes didn’t send the letter. Handwriting samples do not match, and it seems he is functionally illiterate in both English and Spanish. The whole thing is starting to look – according to current reporting – like a case of witness intimidation. Milwaukee County District Attorney Kent Lovern confirmed  Reyes is a victim in an unrelated assault and robbery case. The sources said the idea was to get Reyes removed from the country before the assault case went to trial.

That said, ICE is keeping him in custody pending a deportation hearing.

Remember the dude who won the Gold in women’s boxing at the last Olympic Games? Imane Khelif? That happened because the IOC is a cringe-y bunch of losers. Khelif had been banned from competing in the 2023 world championships by the International Boxing Association. The IBA had been the sanctioning body for international amateur boxing until the IOC cut ties over the ruling against Khelif.

Well, the new sanctioning body, World Boxing, issued new rules for sex testing that requires all competitors to take and pass genetic testing for biological sex markers.

World Boxing sent a letter to the Algerian boxing federation saying in part “Imane Khelif may not participate in the female category at the Eindhoven Box Cup, 5-10 June 2025 and any World Boxing event until Imane Khelif undergoes genetic sex screening in accordance with World Boxing’s rules and testing procedures.” While Khelif is name checked, this new rule applies to all autoparts that want to compete in the women’s division.

Too bad the IOC let that dude beat on actual women in Paris.

\Trigger warning: Fat shaming ahead.\

The Dems are getting desperate. In their quest to reach young men – a demographic that they have gone out of their way to demonize and attack for decades – they have started taking outreach advice from a hippo.

I’ve seen Olivia Julianna described as a liberal thought leader and influencer. Ok, maybe, whatever. I’ve also seen her described as north of 500 lbs and a big fat POS.

She claims to know what college males are and what they want. The problem is, she pulled whatever she thinks she knows out of her giant ass. All of the polling indicates that what she thinks is just dead wrong.

I dunno about you, but I am not taking political direction from a beached whale, be they female or male (I’m looking at you Chris Christie). I fondly remember a time when we happily shamed fatties like that.

Maybe put down the Twinkies and eat a salad tubby. Oh and read some polling while you’re at it.
