It’s hard to believe it’s June already. It seems as if President Trump was just sworn in yesterday. All I can say is it’s been a rollercoaster first few months of the year. Now on to today’s RNN. . .
David Brooks was born in Canada. He has since gained US citizenship. He is a political commentator and writer. Some people call him a centrist. I do not. He is a closet Marxist. He regularly appears on PBS.
For those unable or unwilling to watch, Brooks likens Elon Musk to Pol Pot, Mao and Stalin: “At least semi-responsible for the deaths of probably by the end of this, hundreds of thousands, if not millions of people. That’s Elon Musk’s legacy.” . . . “The people who work at Tesla and SpaceX might want to think about that.”
The claim is laughable on its face. But the issue isn’t that Brooks – and his buddy Capehart – are retards in the classical sense. It is that you and I are paying for those two to spew their nonsensical takes on TV. Of you needed another reason to want to defund PBS. . .
NY Rep Jerry ‘high waist’ Nadler is big mad. A staffer in his NYC office was briefly cuffed and detained by uniformed Federal Protective Service agents yesterday. That staffer and a couple of others were suspected of harboring ‘rioters’. You see, the building that houses Nadler’s office also hosts an immigration court. The staffer, who was released shortly after being detained, allegedly pushed the FPS agents.
So, fat Jerry is big mad. He released a statement . In it he said:
“President Trump and the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) are sowing chaos in our communities, using intimidation tactics against both citizens and non-citizens in a reckless and dangerous manner,” Nadler claimed.
“If this can happen in a Member of Congress’s office, it can happen to anyone — and it is happening,” he added.
Sure thing fatty. . .
A bunch of large news outlets ran with a false story out of Gaza last night/today. CNN, Fox, BBC, AP and others all reported that Israeli forces opened fire on an aid distribution facility. Fox even ran footage of a ‘witness’ who ‘claimed’ he saw 10 dead bodies after Israeli “warships, tanks, and drones” opened fire on the crowd. There was one problem with the story. It wasn’t true. What’s worse, the outlets didn’t even bother to ask the Israelis about it. If they had they would have been given this video:
Hamas lies. The Gaza Arabs lie. They do it like they breathe: unconsciously and reflexively. That should be the default for any news organization. I cannot recall a single major Hamas claim that was not proven false. Still, we see news outlets parroting their nonsense uncritically again and again. I for one am tired of it.
In part of the ongoing US-China trade war, President Trump has suspended the sale of aircraft engines and parts to the Asian country. The Commerce Department has suspended some licenses that allowed American companies to sell products and technology to COMAC, a Chinese state-owned aerospace manufacturer, for use in its C919 aircraft.
The COMAC C919 is not approved for flight outside of China.
I’m sure you all remember what happened in East Palestine Ohio back in 2023. And I’m reasonably sure you remember the Biden Administration (lack of) response. Well news about that train derailment has come to light. It seems Biden – or the people around him anyway – knew there were issues with the response and cleanup. It looks like they expected a cancer cluster and other health issues because of the toxic chemical spill.
According to reports, the tests were done in the wrong spots with the wrong equiment by people who shouldn’t have been doing them. I would say I was shocked when I read that, but to be honest, I was just sad. I knew the response was fucked from Jump Street, who could expect anything else from the misfits around Joe.
