Random News and Notes 27 June

We kick off this Friday edition of RNN in Alexandria VA, specifically Dulles international. It’s there that an Egyptian man kicked a CPB working dog named Freddy. Freddy has alerted to something in 70-year-old Hamed Aly Marie’s baggage.

. . . According to CBP, 70-year-old Hamed Aly Marie pled guilty during an initial appearance in the U.S. District Court, Eastern District of Virginia to harming animals used in law enforcement (18USC1368). He was credited with time served, ordered to pay the veterinarian’s fee, and to immediately report to CBP for removal from the United States. Marie departed the United States on a flight to Egypt at 12:30 p.m. today.

I sincerely hope he meets Baba Yaga.

With a f*cking pencil. . .

Kilmar Abrego Garcia is being deported. Again. This time he’s going to a third country. Likely the vacation spot that is South Sudan.

Abrego-Garcia has an active removal order in place, and once he is released from Marshals service custody on his pending human trafficking charges, ICE has indicated he’s outta here.

The sawed off runt running the Hermit Kingdom has decided his country needs more tourism. Kim Jong Un is opening a beach resort in North Korea.

Dunno about you, but I no longer care to vacation in countries ruled by despots, I had enough of that in the 90’s.

I brought you the initial news of this one back in June when SecDef Hegseth first announced the change. Well, the new name for T-AO-206 is the USNS Oscar V. Peterson. Peterson was posthumously awarded the Medal of Honor for his actions aboard the fleet oiler Neosho during the Battle of the Coral Sea in 1942.

Peterson’s official Medal of Honor citation reads:

For extraordinary courage and conspicuous heroism above and beyond the call of duty while in charge of a repair party during an attack on the U.S.S. Neosho by enemy Japanese aerial forces on 7 May 1942. Lacking assistance because of injuries to the other members of his repair party and severely wounded himself, Peterson, with no concern for his own life, closed the bulkhead stop valves and in so doing received additional burns which resulted in his death. His spirit of self-sacrifice and loyalty, characteristic of a fine seaman, was in keeping with the highest traditions of the U.S. Naval Service. He gallantly gave his life in the service of his country.

One year. It’s been one year since the video below was taken. Kinda reminds me of a song.

That debate performance ended Joe’s run on the political stage. It outed his clear and ongoing mental decline. Time flies when you’re drooling on your shoes hey Joe?

That song? It’s Friday so I’ll share. It’s the Barenaked Ladies hit One week.
