Random News and Notes 7 June

Late-ish Yesterday, SCOTUS issued an order in a case called SSA v AFSCME. It lifted a lower court stay preventing the Social Security Administration from working with and allowing access to DOGE employees.

DOGE employees now have unfettered access to the SSA databases and IT systems.

I dislike how this whole thing is being framed by the courts at large. Every DOGE employee is a federal employee, not an affiliate. Regardless, this is a win for Trump and DOGE. And ultimately all of us as well.

ICE made a couple of immigration raids in the Los Angeles area yesterday. So what you say, that happens all the time in LA. Yeah, but they don’t usually go this way. When agents decended on a Home Depot location in Westlake and an Ambiance store in the Fashion District in downtown L.A. it got chaotic.

Anti-ICE protesters tried to block the ICE vehicles, got in the faces of ICE agents, threw rocks and other debris and generally made a nuisance of themselves. At one point it was being reported that ICE agents had been locked inside the Ambiance store.

One particularly foolish individual tried to stop an ICE van filled with detainees with their body. It did not go well. Skip to 1:15ish to see the incident.

It gets worse. The retard mayor of LA, Karen Bass issued a statement. It is a retarded as you think:

It also looks like the president of California SEIU David Huerta got arrested for some reason.

While I haven’t seen it, I am quite sure the retards on the left are absolutely crying about that arrest. FAFO.

Here’s another Trump court win. This time a federal appeals court reversed a lower court ruling reinstating Associated Press’ access to the Oval Office, AF 1, Mar a Lago and other spaces after the admin revoked their press passes.

Under this ruling AP has access only to the larger spaces in the White House and outdoor press scrums. Cue the whinging and gnashing of teeth.

The ‘Maryland Father’ Kilmar Abrego Garcia is back from his vacation in sunny El Salvador. But it is not because of anything Judge Paula Xinis did or ordered. Garcia is back to face some new criminal charges out of Tennessee. He is facing charges of human trafficking.

If convicted, he will spend the rest of his life behind bars here or in El Salvador.

Back in May, a left-wing nutbag named Emily Gabriella Sommer spit on Trump appointee Ed Martin while he was holding a press availability on the Capitol steps. She was quickly identified and charged with assault. She was released without bail the same day, with one of the release conditions being no contact either directly or indirectly with Martin or any other alleged victims/witnesses.

Well, nutters gonna nutter and she is no exception. She violated the terms of her release in recent Twitter/X postings. Janine Pirro, the current acting DC US attorney has asked the judge in the case to revoke her bond and remand her to jail for the violations.

I really don’t know what these people are thinking when they do stuff like that. Someone spits on me – man or woman – and they’re catching a fist at the very least. I understand Mr. Martin is a bit more constrained than I would be, and the criminal courts are the proper venue for that, but dear Lord. . .
